- In this 1974 Ford Bronco we installed our Rydeen TomboX 360 degree dash cam system! The front 360 degree camera is integrated into a replacement rear view mirror. The rear camera was installed underneath the tailgate. Both cameras are 4K Ultra Resolution for an amazingly clear image! Nice! Im looking at getting this mirror for my project truck, seems to be the most feature packed LCD Mirror out there. I love the integrated BSD leds - im going to install a BSD system as well. Probably the Pioneer model. I need one that has Reverse Cross traffic detection as well as a GPS antenna for speed ( No obd/canbus speed info available on this build).
Im also looking at the new Drone dashcam since it can interface with my Compustar CMX/T12 alarm.
Its funny, I developed my own version of the Drone camera a while ago using a Thinkware.
I took all my alarm sensors warnaway and instant trigger outputs, diode isolated them, and with a timer relay used them to provide a 1 second 12v pulse. I converted that 13v into 3v and used it to power a small vibration motor (what is inside of phones/pagers etc).
Finally I attached the small motor to the case of my dashcam.
This way any time my alarm was triggered by any of the zones/sensors, it made my dashcam think a parking mode impact had occurred and thus sent me notifications on my phone. So i got notified by Cumpustar/Drone as well as Thinkware, and could view the video of what happened.
Anyways, it will be nice to basically have this with the Drone XC camera!

Yes, that would make it the ultimate. Drone just released a live dash cam system call the Drone XC. The drone system is only front and you can add either a rear cam or an interior cam ( not both ). Won’t give you the coverage out of the side windows like this camera, but will give you live streaming capabilities with a subscription plan.
Had one installed in my Ridgeline. Very disappointed in the lack of brightness (even on the brightest setting) of the mirror when compared to the Wolfbox I had previously tried. Love everything else about this unit.
Never heard of or used Wolfbox so can not give any personal feedback on the differences between Rydeen and the brand you mentioned. We sell a lot of the Rydeen Tombo and our clients love it.
I need this for surveillance. When this tracks motion does it let you know it tracked motion when you get in the vehicle?
There are no prompts on the mirror when you get in, but when you get in you can go to the files and see the list of recordings. Any file labeled with SOS means it was a recording that happened when the vehicle was parked by either motion or impact sensor. When you click on the SOS file it shows the recording. Each SOS file has a date / time stamp to it as well.
Mine says SOS on the mirror when I get in and it has been triggered.

This system is great for that! Will not catch 100% everything, but a great way to to get more surveillance coverage
