So... this jig doesn't align the holes for the inside cabinet side of the hinge? Does Kreg even sell such a jig? The Milescraft version of this comes with one the attaches to the back of the concealed hinge jig for convenient storage. It also has a wider range of offset adjustment on the 'cams', and costs less.
Loved the video, you made it fun. I normally have my wood supplier drill these holes for me. There is a gap but the hinges can be adjusted to reduce that
Qs. Is there a specific number the drill's torque should be set to when drilling the hole for the hinge? Also, how deep should the stop collar be set to on the bit?
Hah! The jig-picking is perfect...I thought I accidently hit my "Back to the Woods" button for a different level of utubian sawdust...g'mornin' all! I'm about to all bundle up and spray down with tea tree oil to face the big bad germy world of my local, walkable Home Depot for some cedar fence boards to build some new utility shelves. Drill, baby, drill! Stay safe.
@@BuildDadBuild Thank you for responding. I thought it was based on the gap of the opening? I use the insert doors. I want to little stretch the gap on each space. Does the edge indexer do that?
The guide for the bit is plastic and melted on my fifth door. As it melted it allowed the bit to angle outwards and cut a hole into the side of the tool. Almost every other jig on the market has a metal guide. Kreg offered another tool and refused to replace the door. I have 23 more doors, their jig can't make it 5 with pauses every 10 seconds of drilling and quelching between doors to cool the bit. Don't buy Kreg, I won't ever again
Glad to see that your creativity is a very useful outlet to help keep the demons quiet.😃 I do about the same went in to the shop today to work decided to move 1 ! Bench. I just used this jig for the first time and my results were even better than I expected (after dialing in the hinges) thanks to your video. Thanks!
Awesome! Glad it helped.

Just picked one of these up a week ago for my next project. First time making a cabinet.

What is better MDF or wood?
I asked for a kutzall bit for this past Christmas. Used it finally last weekend to for a knife handle. It worked great.
Nice!

You’d have to check the directions.
normally it's 1/2" deep...and you don't set the torque when drilling..This is for screwing
@@BuildDadBuild Thanks
@@pimc172 Thanks
Those Kreg jigs are expensive but I've used mine so many times it was worth buying them
I know right?!?
Cheers!
Especially if you dread having to do doors.
Very jig, looking forward to the next video 👍
Thanks, brother!
Easy peasy lemon squeezy baby
Hell yeah!
:) love watching your videos:)
question... is there a space between the two when the door is closed??
Thank you.
No real discernible gap.

I just figured out you don’t need a screwdriver to turn the spacer, you just turn it at the back 😊
AWESOME video bud!!
Thanks, brother!

And I forgot to say what a cool product... more things to put into old school cigar boxes on my about to be built shelves.

Why do not you explain the edge indexer? You picked 5mm. Why???
The thickness of the door
