I can see why Mosca Jr., didn't have a long NY run, I had heard he struggled in the ring as a worker, and he seems to struggle on the mic as well. Sort of reminded me of Lou Ferrigno except without green face paint.
Damn...I remember Mosca, Jr. from the mid-80s, but I don’t ever remember hearing him talk. Now I know why. He WAS popular with the female fans, though, and I guess that got him some traction. I guess the “Johnny-Mathis-with-muscles” thing came in handy.
well, it wasnt a bad promo because the guy didn't yell "cut", unlike another wrestler did on live tv (ya'll know who i'm talking about). but notice Johnny Weavers reaction after Jr. said "Jody". The camera man zoomed in on Jr. no one in that time period asked google for the real names of the masked men. even the promoters didnt question the real identities of the masked guys (i.e., charlie brown & james brothers) back then. haha I think because he used the Assassin's real name (Jody Hamilton) he was taking the "rulebreaking" personally as if he was offended by the rulebreaking. maybe it wasn't in the script for the "masked man" to break the rules. By the way, I looked Jody Hamilton up on Wikipedia. Interesting article. He had run-ins with the WWF and Animal's brother John I can't spell their last name but that doesn't matter because we weren't supposed to know that Animal had a last name back in those days.
I grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts in the same city as Angelo Mosca (different years). I never once liked JR from the very start. What is he doing now? It's been 35 years since he did a match.
This guy should've never been given a push like he did..I remember when he won the tv title and then lost it right away..Dusty must've owed Angelo Mosco Sr.a favor or two from their days working together in Eddie Graham's Florida territory.
Angelo Mosca Jr probably had the sexiest chest of any pro wrestler ever. It was so good to see a man step into the ring who did not look like he got his muscles from steroids.
@@wgd14u David Crockett was terrible lol! I can hear him now..."on the ground", "he slammed", "almost", "watch it"...he could never put a sentence together while calling a match lol! It was brutal. Thank goodness there was Bob Caudle there with him.
What is even more awful is that they aired it and did not shoot it again. Not like this was live so they could have done it over and don't kid yourself, Johnny Weaver was horrible too.
