272 is bad session lol. Max, you're an animal. No such thing as disappointment in the BDP, it's another session, another 20 in the bank. Tomorrow is another day. Chin up man, your inspirational nature is undiminished even if you didn't personally hit the numbers you were after 👍
PS the profile view is indeed pretty awesome. Your form looked strong in these man.

Aw, this looks brutal. I currently use a modified Cindy WOD (perfect form on each exercise) as my fitness foundation, but might have to squeeze in a round of these once or twice a week too. Will probably be dead before hitting 50 reps!!

The profile views are much appreciated. At first glance this program looks ridiculously simple (and it is, of course). But then as you progress you start to really pay attention to form, make some tweaks...and then get humbled big time.
I was hitting 95 Navy Seals yet struggling with 6-counts... hovering at 180 for months. Could not figure out the reason for the the mixmatch. I was also doing my seal reps much faster than Max during the follow alongs. The reason, of course, is that I realized I was cheating and not coming up to full extension on counts 4 and 6. I'd get 80% up and then drop back down. This, of course, allowed me to cycle very quickly.
Fixing it resulted in a great deal of humble pie. Dropped back down to 75ish reps and my speed was in line with the follow alongs. Now I'm back up to 82/83 and can tell a big difference in form.
Similarly on the 6 counts I had poor arm placement...and I quote (not verbatim) the OG Busy Dad on a recent form video: "a lot of times people have their arms too far out and they touch their nose to the ground and think they are getting good reps. The lower sternum should be what touches, so you need to move your arms back"
Well dammit. I was taking great pride in having my nose touch the ground every rep! This tweak, again, humbled me and knocked me down a good 10 reps on the six counts.
I'm happy to say my form has been corrected per Max's instruction and I'm back up to Level 2. In a sense now that I'm fairly far into the program, I have started to take more pride in maintaining good form.

    Nailed 295 today. New PR
I felt amazing upfront. So i went for it. 20 minutes. 1 rep every 4 seconds.
I walked through the darkness. But this feeling afterwards is priceless!

Thank you for this! This has changed my 6 count life. I'm at 95 Navy seals in 20, but stuck at 170 6 counts. It was the last movement, really over lift on the pump and use that to assist the legs! Legend, Max! Thank you! I did 170 this morning, (and I hate mornings) and for the first time felt I had gas left in the tank!

Form is a tricky subject. I have set challenges for people and they said they completed it and their squat jumps were very shallow, push ups shallow and I would think, well you didn't really do it. But I did get them to take up a challenge and pursue something to get fitter. I tried a session of 6 counts where my upper arms had to go below the horizontal. It was harder and I did fewer reps. Do we now judge every rep for form and not include those that are fractionally off or must every rep be perfect? I guess there is a point where a rep becomes unacceptable, probably through fatigue, but when we are going for numbers, how strict are we going to be, or you be, dishing out the T shirts for someone achieving numbers with some reps fractionally off? I guess there is a point where we need to differentiate between motivating a busy dad/mom to workout with goals for 80 minutes a week and having someone perform immaculate reps and anything less is unacceptable. Not easy to judge!😄

I agree! Very tricky trade off. I'm still thinking this one through, both for myself and my clients

Out of interest, when you say your previous form was poor, what aspect was the issue for you?

I had seen my lower back sagging somewhat at the base of the rep. Try filming your sessions in profile view, Duncan. It brutally exposes any form issues
