Fr, Akaza came in and was literally like 10 levels higher. The fact that he was literally trying to run up on Tanjiro and smash his brain in within a single second made Tanjiro go "Fuck man". To be fair, he still ALMOST got his ass fucking murdered but he was able to hold his own against Gyutaro for short lil periods of time, that's impressive and a major step up from Akaza where he couldn't even see Akaza/Rengoku's movements with how fast they were.
People need to understand how huge his trauma of not being able to save his family changed him. It's ingrained in his brain that he can never let that happen again
Yeah I think its made very clear that Tanjiro is immediately thinking of everything he can do at any moment. He immediately goes into finding Uzui to help him kill the last Demon, he just couldn't have gotten there in the instant before what happened was to happen. Tanjiro literally couldn't do anything at that moment. They totally got blindsided. I think what's hard for Rob to get over is the whole "anime time" thing. When the scene is put through intense focus and time slows down, you can think sometimes it's ridiculous when you're staring at a bunch of characters standing around for what seems like a good 20 seconds. The fact is time at that moment isn't moving in a literal sense as it should. It's how anime usually does things. So you gotta accept part of that format. It's just how it does things.
Bro I swear Tengen is one of the most underrated Hashiras in the series. If anybody not named Sanemi and especially Gyomei is deployed in the redlight district they will certainly die (PRE MARKED) And even Muzan himself that Gyutaro is an Upper Moon 4 AT LEAST if Daki is not present, Daki is weighing Gyutaro down.
I hate it when some people said Uzui is the weakest hashira just because he can't handle Gyutaro & Daki. He was poisoned! Gyutaro said "why you're not dead yet? It's deadly poison.." In the beginning (before the poison spreading to his body) he managed to kick & cut off Daki's head & slash Gyutaro throat

Tbh, I don't see any Hashira surviving due to the poison. Tengen is officially listed as the fastest Hashira. If he can get nicked, then that means everyone else would too. Tengen is the most suited for this fight.
I think the biggest thing is since he’s a Shinobi and he has that strong resistance to poison he held up so well against Gyutaro. I’m not exactly sure how well he would do 1v1 no interruptions but at the beginning when Tengen first gets strike across his face and poisoned he wasn’t protecting anyone at that point. Gyutaro even had his back turned to Tengen but still managed to draw blood. Since all the other Hashira are indeed NOT shinobi you could assume that most of the would probably die rather quickly after getting his poisoned. Even with Gyomei and Sanemi it’s difficult to say. Tengen did land first place in terms of running speed and 2nd place in terms of muscular strength out of all the Hashira so that might even mean that even Sanemi could die 1v1 against Gyutaro. It really is hard to powerscale the Hashira and particularly Tengen when only judging them based off who they’ve fought. Like how Akaza could potentially be killed in an instant if he fought Gyomei or Muchiro instead simply because they have access to the transparent world & selfless state and catch Akaza completely off guard if they blitzed him. At the end of the day, I think people rank Tengen so low because he essentially almost died and would have died against Upper 6 if not from the help of others. Upper 6 meaning both Daki and Gyutaro. Is it fair that people judge him in that way, I don’t think so either. It’s unfortunate but by the end of the arc I’m sure most fans will be Tengen fans!
the title of the episode was supposed to be "Once we defeat an upper moon" which was directed to the flashback of one of the Uzui's wife. Idk whats wrong with Crunchyroll to name the episode "defeating an uppermoon" making it misleading
haters will just keep saying it got carried by the animation, yet NONE of them predicted these things, Gyutaro appearing out of nowhere and the squad in danger of getting wiped. Just happens when something gets too popular, man, clowns are attracted to it.

The pinnacle. They balance the slow impactful moments so well to elevate the action and make it more meaningful. And the way they sustain hype is so clean from Tanjiro combining breathes to the combo attacks and then them going down. Each moment gave me shivers, especially Inosuke's growth and Zenitsu being a whole new guy. These cliffhangers got me in a chokehold but it's still the ultimate viewing experience 🔥

We never actually see him at full strength at the start of the fight yet he was holding his own for most of the battle, only relying on Tanjiro a few times.

chillin at headquarters? they all have their own territory to protect. if even one hashira moves out of their region, that leaves that whole region unprotected with only fodder demon slayers there. and its not like they know where any upper moons are as they are rare to encounter
they chilling, inosuke moves his organs before he gets stabbed and lives it and uzui goes crazy and they finally end up winning with no casualties beside uzui retiring after the fight
Inosuke became a literal beast in this episode, Zenitsu accomplishes more asleep than most of us do awake, and while Tengen loves all 3 of his wives we know he lowkey has a favorite. Tanjiro has been fighting hurt nearly this whole time too

Ome thing I love about DS is that they dont make the main characters randomly op after a moment of powering up. They make their power ups more on instinct or desperation or due to training but with tolls after the moments wear out. If anything seeing our heros desperation and moments of hope,it makes me even more excited to watch more. Inosuke did his shii, all three did and we got to see more of uzui's life with his wives. It was a great episode. This season definitely is crazy for them.cloffhangers for those who havent read the manga especially. But ay every newer episode always tends to be great. DS is often said to be simple but for me DS is perfect. We know the goal. We know the enemy and the bad guy. We know how hard they work. And that's fine, it's the growth, the passion, how likeable the characters all are and how things arent random. I enjoy this anime. Plus the fight scenes are beautiful along with the dialogue. I loved the team up and the way all the characters try to stay and communicate with the others and they even show what happens the second tanjiro isnt focused. Uzui is so impressive too. He definitely deserves sm

I watched the whole series after both of the first 2 seasons were fully out, I could NOT imagine waiting a whole week after this episode...
Ome thing I love about DS is that they dont make the main characters randomly op after a moment of powering up. They make their power ups more on instinct or desperation or due to training but with tolls after the moments wear out. If anything seeing our heros desperation and moments of hope,it makes me even more excited to watch more. Inosuke did his shii, all three did and we got to see more of uzui's life with his wives. It was a great episode. This season definitely is crazy for them.cloffhangers for those who havent read the manga especially. But ay every newer episode always tends to be great. DS is often said to be simple but for me DS is perfect. We know the goal. We know the enemy and the bad guy. We know how hard they work. And that's fine, it's the growth, the passion, how likeable the characters all are and how things arent random. I enjoy this anime. Plus the fight scenes are beautiful along with the dialogue. I loved the team up and the way all the characters try to stay and communicate with the others and they even show what happens the second tanjiro isnt focused. Uzui is so impressive too. He definitely deserves sm
