How does this compare to the west side of Florida? Like clearwater area. Im deciding which beach to stay at.
August has always been just right for me. Kids are starting school and most have used up their vacation time. A lot are still there, but it's so much better than june and july.
Very informative!! I had a cousin drown at the age of nine in Gulf Shores. Observe all children. If one comes up missing, tell a lifeguard!
So sad! I hate to hear this and what the family must have went through the years following. Children are just happy playing and they never think about what bad things can happen. It would be nerve wracking to be any parent at the beach!
@@HellaBella Many parents do t realize the danger either. So I’m glad you reminded them. It’s especially dangerous after storms. Thanks for giving such a good video. I hope many watch it. 😊
Fort Morgan in Alabama in August 10th to 20th is so great
Listen, sometimes it's best to just stick to the hotel that you were already comfortable with that's clean. We switched and we got one with roaches. And we paid two thousand dollars to stay there Directly in front of the ocean And it was the phoenix it was nasty Found several in our room
Orange Beach is not that crowded year round.....
Great points, except I disagree with shopping. Rouses grocery stores are great, and prices aren't too bad. The deli at these is usually good for seafood.
Thanks for the heads up on things and suggestions
I’ve made several comments here, because I love Gulf Shores/OB! I’m an Alabama native who only started enjoying the gulf when we moved to Daphne many years ago. Growing up in northeast Alabama, I lived too far from the beach and was too poor to go. I loved my 7 years in Daphne! We went to the beach as often as we could. I don’t think many Alabamians know what such a treasure they have in our beaches. They are the gems of the state! People from all over come to visit our beautiful white sand. I have lived in Texas the last 20 years. The beach’s here are awful! Brown sand!🤮! So, we make the effort to get back to Alabama beaches every chance we can. This girl here has produced a very informative video about going to the gulf beaches. Take heed to her advice and enjoy!🏖️🎡🌊🌞
Thank you for the insight....we have never been and are going in a week and are so excited.
I took my kids the last week of June. It was the first time we had seen the ocean. We arrived in gulf shores around 6am and went right to the beach. There wasn't really anyone there that early which made our first time getting in the ocean really nice. The whole trip was awesome, especially since it was just the kids and I. It was very family friendly while we were there other than the heat during the day. Oh, and we got got stung by jellyfish. It was a blast!
Glad you had fun. As a New Englander and living along the coastline just wanted to let you know applying meat tenderizer to a jellyfish sting will lessen the pain. Been there done that.
As a New Englander and have visited the Gulf of Mexico from Cedar Key, Fla up to Gulf Shores camping with a travel trailer and Love every place I camped and the people I met. The seafood and southern food was awesome and just need to get back down there.
Great info! Thx
Going to Orange Beach in a few weeks. We hit Gulf shores last year for 3 days. Going for a week this time. Looking forward to it.
Hi Bella - what about coming mid-March for spring break? Is water too cold to enjoy?
Im going to gulf shores in june i knkw its going to be crowded but i mainly just wsnt to go to the beach and check the stores out but im excited.
I commented on another commenter comment that using meat tenderizer on a jellyfish sting will lessen the pain tremendously. Been there done that.
Just remember that the further West you go towards to the Bay, the darker the water will usually get. Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island are really cool with a lot less people than OB or Gulf Shores, but the water isn't usually as clear. Also a lot less to do in terms of non water activities and restaurant choices unless you make a pretty good drive or take a ferry. OB is where we always end up going back to, but it is getting so busy down there compared to what it used to be!! And if you are worried about jelly fish, be prepared to encounter a few, or many. They are very common in the summer, depending on the time and a few other variables. It's not the moon jelly (clear) you need to worry about, but the sea nettle (clear w/brown stripes) that'll get you!!
We drove out to Fort Morgan and took the ferry to Dauphin with our car and really enjoyed it. Agree there’s a lot less to do there, but kind of nice if you’re looking for a more chill vacation experience. I’d like to stay on Dauphin for one of our trips. We visited the bird sanctuary while we were there.
Great Great video
Def go in off season. And check out Hampton Inn! Very affordable! Book ahead of time!
Can confirm I just got back from a trip this week during peak season. It was way too crowded and traffic was bad. I’d much prefer going in September or even April. We saw more wildlife during these times as well.
@@HellaBellaWe usually go in October. Very nice then: low crowds, nice temps, but still plenty of sunshine. I’d love to explore in rainy days, but my hubby just wants to sleep. He works hard.
We’re going at the very end of august , do you think the weather / crowd will be bad. We usually always go in may or so but I’m hoping it won’t be too bad
School will have started back by then, so hopefully it will be less crowded. Enjoy your trip!
Close to peak hurricane season
Dolphin watching is totally a big GO, it’s so much fun and it will get a bit crowded
We did get to do a dolphin cruise in PCB and it was super fun! They swam along the boat with us. I would say I will not go back to PCB. That place was crazy.
Tourist vibes🤣
You talk to much, you blab, blab, blab talk to much.Gulf goes on for miles both ways.Put a cork in it.
Thanks for the engagement 👏🏻
Were you able to maintain your weight loss on your vacation? Are you still doing Ozempic?
Yes and yes! :)
Hello! Could you send me a link to the condo?
abnb.me/D6GwqQnOcAb
Used to live there. Curious to see what she says.
Love it! I’m actually going back tomorrow for a couple days. If you have any food places to recommend I’d love to hear them.
Lots let’s see. It truly depends on if you want touristy destinations or not. Our favourite non-touristy restaurants are fish river grill and King Neptunes. Are favourite touristy restaurants are lulu’s and Acme oyster house, and my absolute favourite Coblat. I hope you have a fantastic time!
@@MCeili Thank you! My mom loves seafood so we will try some of those! I really like Lauria's by the Beach.
How’s the weather in October? Thinking of going the first week of October
First week is fine. Humidity is usually way down. Can get cooler at the end of October.
Later in September is also usually quite nice. The extreme heat of August is gone, humidity is much lower. Skies are typically a bluer bluer a so gorgeous. The only real problem is Hurricanes but you have a fair amount of notice when one of those is coming. We’ve been there a number of times in September and it was much less traffic. The beaches are beautiful as usual, with a lot less people. Most of the rental lounge/umbrella places are only putting out maybe half their inventory so those are spaced out more. Sometimes they charge less than summer rates and depending on when you are going even the condo/hotel rates are better.
I go the week of Thanksgiving in November. The wind is cool, but the sun is still shining and warm. It's great.
One thing that we have done to avoid the lines at the grocery store is do a pickup order
Good idea!
Is this worth the visit? Hows the water?
The water is great in gulf shores
Usually clear and gorgeous. Last time we were there I had never seen the water so incredibly beautiful with shallow areas a deep emerald green and then further out an area of sapphire blue, yet up close the water is quite clear in the shallows.
No strip clubs? Lol.
I'm sure they have some, but we did not visit!
I woulndt waste money on that dude.
@@aaronnantz2289don't tell another person how they are able to spend their money. If someone wants to spend all their money in a place like that, I don't think it's your place to lecture them about it..
@@MrOkrick hey all I was doing was trying to help them save thier money if they want to go to the strip club that's on them. I'm not lecturing anyone on what to do with their money and another thing how about you mind your own business wise ass.
@@MrOkrick hey I was just telling them not to waste money on a strip club but if that's what they want to do then that's on them. Another thing mind your own dam business and quit being so dam nosey.
but are there black vacationers there?
I’m sorry I didn’t do a census when I was there. There were families of all kinds on the beach when I went though!
Yes there are black vacationers, and also black residents. I don't even understand what kind of a question this is lol
I live close by and visit the “Hangout” often. Not a lot of us, about 80/20 ratio. Still the best kept secret in America!
Yes there is
🌳👀🌳
I want to move there this year 👍🏻
