This was major gem, thanks a lot. The lead synth craves Half Time though.

Thanks, THIS is what I've been looking for. Still trying to marry my old school production techniques to newer ways of achieving creativity with sounds I already have. This is a fantastic inroad to do so!

Crazy how different peoples approach to making music can be, and still have similar results...

I am really enjoying your videos, they are helping me get up to speed on the newer features of Logic. I have used Logic since back when it was an Emagic product and it’s been wild to see how far it has come. This functionality reminds me of Phatmatic Pro, I was so annoyed when that product was abandoned. I hate paying for expensive software and having the support for it get dropped. That’s one of the reasons I standardized on Logic, I got tired of The spotty Mac support in Cubase. I am sure that beat slicing is very common these days, and it’s not the sort of thing I use much, but it’s nice to know it’s available when I want it. 😀

Bro what is that loops you opened where you get the sounds before you chops them?

  • @GMan269

MTHG: To get the Slice sample library to follow Logic's tempo and key did you use there bridge application or does LPX just read these .wav files as though they're apple loops? I'm getting ready to try this, so I may find out the harder way.

  • @GMan269
    @GMan269 2 ปีที่แล้ว

MTHG: Okay, a few more comments. I'm running 10.7.3, and I'm trying to learn about all the new stuff that has appeared since 10.4. At 7:34 you right click the number areas at the bottom of the Live Loops area to set up "markers." Right clicking in that area does nothing on my M1 laptop. I can name that area by double clicking in the lower left of the number box. Second, I cannot get any kind of a menu up for recording in a cell in Live Loops. I think those options have been removed and put in the drop downs. Unless there's something you have toggled somewhere that I don't. That seems like a useful feature for Apple to move in 10. At 21:05, again, right clicking scene area at the bottom does nothing on my machine. I was able to find the option to move those in the region window above at Edit:Cut/Insert Time. These might be changes to menus in 10.7.3 or they might be something that I'm not executing correctly. Enlighten me if you can! Thanks for the great video.

You can separate midi by note once you convert your pattern to midi then you can pitch each sound

Intersting. Quick sampler and live loops are the 2 things I almost never use, for live loops never, actualy. I should try one on these days.
(but, as you can hear on my YT channel, dont miss it 😀 , my compositions are more "hybrid classical" than rythmic or "dancy")

You could make a DMD of the hat sampler and then u could go in to the hat track and change pitches Hold control over the bottom half in Quick Sampler

Create an instrument track, right click in the open region, select "create pattern region."

I'm the same way. I never use samples as is . Never... I could make 10 different song with one sample and you wouldn't even know its the same sample. I learned to make things my own early. I had a sampler only before I had a D.A.W. and this was one of my first laws of production for myself.

Ok man.. I LOVE your videos. I'm a long time logic user that goes waaaay back to notator on Atari.
But I have a problem I can't find ANYONE ANYWHERE who can answer this problem. Hoping you can shoot a video if you're looking for a new topic....
    Automation approximation. Driving me insane.
If I'm using say an arturia synth and want to automate res or filters, it steps it to 100 steps even though im moving the pot smoothly. So 230 231 232 233 234... gets truncated to 230 until it hits 240 then it steps to that. How the f do we select a finer resolution????
I was pitching resonance feedback the other day and they were beautifully in tune until playback. Whays even crazier is if I draw a diagonal automatiln line, logic does follow those finer steps. Wanna put a point in though and it snaps to the nearest 10. Always.
    Thanks in advance.
