Love the video. Regarding the hotel credit, does it need to be a PRE-PAID refundable reservation to get the statement credit to trigger? I'd assume the credit won't trigger just by virtue of making a refundable reservation

Yes! Sorry I didn't make that clear. It does need to be pre-paid to trigger.

@@katiestraveltricks - I went ahead and made a phantom hotel booking, that was refundable. The hotel charge from Chase Travel soft posted immediately. Then the next day, the $50 hotel credit posted. In about 2 weeks, I'll cancel the hotel booking which SHOULD lead to a refund from Chase Travel

In order to get a travel protection, can I purchase an airline ticket with any third-party or it has to be only Chase site? How do you make a partial payment with Chase CC?

I would love to see an answer to your question. I have a similar question so will wait to see if anyone answers. Thank you for asking it!

You can purchase through anywhere and still get the travel protections. Some websites may allow you to split the payment but typically the only way I would make a partial payment is if I'm paying for my ticket with points (for example Southwest points) and then I just put my taxes onto a Sapphire card.

For rental car coverage, if my husband has a CSP as an authorized user from my account, will he still be covered?

The benefits guide seems to indicate YES, as the Authorized User name is embossed on the card. static.chasecdn.com/content/services/structured-document/document.en.pdf/card/benefits-center/product-benefits-guide-pdf/BGC10979_SapphirePreferred_VisaSignature.pdf
