Listening is how your ear develops a sense of quality tone so it's critical to choose your recordings carefully. I often recommend to my students and parents that they put it on repeat and fall asleep to the recording. The brain processes and learns even while sleeping. Happy listening!

David, I’m a 66 years old retiree living in Singapore. My violin love is a continuation of my childhood hobby. When I was a Form 4-5 student in Kuching, Sarawak (Malaysia) I started learning from the school music teacher free. He died of heart attack one night when I was in Form 5. That’s the end of my violin lessons as my family was poor and I had not the heart to ask my dad to support me with a paid teacher. So my violin, given by my eldest brother, was kept in the store for years. I brought it with me to Singapore when I came here to live and work. Upon my retirement recently, I had it refurbished by a luthier in Singapore and started using it again. It’s a cheap learner’s violin but it has sentimental value. Your playing of the Suzuki pieces inspires me to learn violin and as you wrote, this musical instrument is for everyone, poor or rich.

Thanks for pointing this out Kylie! Not sure how they got mixed up in editing. Unfortunately there’s no of switching them without posting a whole new video so I may wait until I update this video with new mic and camera to make the switch. @@priceviolinacademy Thanks for replying! It's wonderful to have a pro violinist playing for young people to benefit their musical growth. That's really rare and I appreciate it!
I was wondering if you would be open to suggestion? Many Book 1 students can't play at the ideal speed yet. Maybe in the future you can make a slowed down recording, that includes introductions to each piece so students can easily play with you. I would definitely promote that to my students and my Suzuki Association!
