Thank you for sharing this, removing the handle to fit the trade stack in the back of my truck was very important, as my truck has the dual role of being a work and family vehicle. I have to store these in my bed under the cover. 👍
Great video. I just bought my rolling TradeStack and didn't notice for a few weeks that one side of the handle uprights was installed backwards. Which means, the pin on that side didn't have a hole in the upright to insert itself into. The unit was brand new from Lowes, so it must have been a doofus at the factory. Using your video, I was able to see how to remove the handle and easily unsnap the upright from the handle and turn it around. Now it locks on both uprights as it should. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you for this video! I made one as you saw after it to spread the idea! this really helped me as it was the only reason i bought this was to fit it in my truck wth a low cover. so now that i have found you here with the video. Like i said in mine, i have given the credit to you to make sure it's known. hopes its okay i'm spreading the knowledge.
@@toolinhand Nope yours and now me sharing your idea is another to help people figure this out! thank you for sharing and hope you don't mind me spreading the knowledge a little!
Very nice! I mentioned this the other week on someone else's TH-cam video. This was the first thing i did when i got my TradeStack. I just took my Leatherman knife and shave off the sides.
I was considering replacing my versa stack for this but the handle being a bit to tall for my bed cover stopped me, this definitely changed my desesion. Does anyone know when it'll be on sale? I saw a video a few weeks ago about this box being $130 instead of the 170
There is a super easy way to remove those ends! No screwdrivers. Find two proper sized hex nuts the size of the square holes in the down tube which the end piece tabs click into. ... Get two hex nuts. Put them into the holes, front and back holes at the same time. The hex nuts slide into the holes down the "little ramps" with some force and go under the top of the hole to depress the tabs. The way the inserted end is designed, the nuts will not fall in. The hex nuts will be thick enough, and go in far enough, or you can squeeze just a little more. Once both tabs are pressed below the catches, it slides out easy peasy. Then use the hex nuts on the other side.

Really needed to find a way to pull the support for the handle as well.

Thanks for watching! Also, see the Tradestack adapter mod video. It makes the adapter plate stable!

I took a nice sharp razor to it. No Removal nessesary, thanks for the video! Cheers!
That's a great hack! I really ike how it still snaps into place and push the button again to release the handle to remove. Awesome!
Thanks! I'm going to make a video about your Tradestack adapter hack, soon.
I knew it!!!! Just tried to remove this at a Lowe's to check but I couldn't get it to pop out.
Wow, great hack. You would think they would design it already with that idea. Thanks.
Thanks! I don't know why they didn't. But, all these rolling tool boxes have handles you can't remove.
What is the height without the handle?
Sorted! 🛠️👍😊

It was on sale, but back to $170

Thanks for the tip!
Could probably shave down the edges too and make it flush to the rent of the handle.
Haha ok I watched the rest of the video lmao..good job man.
Appreciate it! Was thinking about messing with mine but didn’t want to break it
No problem! I'm glad I could help!
Cool mod
