Oh my these brings back lots of sweet memories! Lengua de gato is a favorite along with Ronquillos, turrones de kasoy, apas, uraro, paborita, pacencia, otap, ugoy ugoy, camachile, broas, biscocho, alfajor, puto seko, galletas, pilipit, sanikulas, meringue and so many more. We buy these in tin cans in soecialty bakeshops wala pa mga pasalubong shops noon. Luzon pa lang yan. This got me craving big time. I so appreciate your docu vlogs (tama ba tawag) about these things that should be preserved.

Oh, we still eat these cookies all the time... My Aunts aged 92 and 82 are extremely fond of them - especially Minasa since they were their "childhood cookies". I, on the other hand, love Barquillos. And it goes so well with ice cream, too!

Ang nostalgic naman. Favorite ko ang Barquillos. Lagi kong hinahanap sa isang grocery sa amin after school. Little did I know that it originated from Bulacan. Also, a very heart-warming story of Aling Liling’s Minasa indeed. Hahanapin ko ito kapag nadayo ng Bulacan hehe. Ang interesting isipin na humble and important livelihood ng iba yung binibili nating delicacies locally. Super appreciate the production behind Bulacan’s well-known treats! Amazing work, FEATR 🎀 👏🏼

I was born in Manila, but grew up in Bulacan. The desserts there are amazing and I always get excited when someone gifts me desserts from Bulacan, back here in the US. It tastes like home. 😊
I hope FEATR will also do a content focusing on the culinary history of Bulacan. As a Bulakenyo, we have a rich culture when it comes to food, sometimes it's just getting overshadowed by our stereotypical chicharon and, also, being a close neighbor of Pampanga. Aside from minasa and barquillos, the province is also well known for our polvoron, inipit, pastillas, and yema. Suprisingly, all are sweet/pastry products. Some people say that, we, Bulakenyos are malalambing and I don't know if it just so happens that it is reflected in our love for sweets. There's just a lot of things to unpack from our relationship with food. Also, this particular episode reminds me of how most Bulakenyo families have such a great bond with each other. Maybe just like minasa, our recipe to make food just like pastillas and yema requires extra help from the household due to its labor intensive process of making. Particularly, this episode makes me emotional because I used to help my lola in cooking yema and she's currently battling with hepatitis right now so this episode really hits home.
I learn so much from your documetaries, looking forward to going to the places you featured when I go home for visits. Thankful for you FEATR for wonderful virtual experience👍

We had “araro cookies” from Samal Bataan y somehow the secret ingredients had spilled y literally lol; my granny y my relatives are masters of this cookie; my mom had shared this ingredients ( but with some compensation y moving up)to her Chinese Filipino employer here in CA, btw we’re sangley❤
Karamihan ng mga lengua de gato na natry ko particularly from baguio tasted meh, you can't even taste the butter, parang regular na cookies lang. But I remember I tried one na sobrang buttery and rich, na I even thought it was imported. But still the best langue de chat I've tried is from Japan, the one with white chocolate or matcha chocolate sandwiched between.
