As a Chinoy living abroad. This episode is very inspiring to me. I'm a pro. chef based abroad for 2 decades with a strong international cuisine & pastry background but my Amah wasn't able to teach me those heirloom dishes because she was bed ridden and ill when she was living. Funny thing, I have a house near to where China Mommy is based.
The whole vid made me crave for china mommy’s dishes at 4am. And you can really feel her love for cooking and it shines through her creations. Such a heart warming tribute
This is a copied format from Paolo from Tokyo. His Day in a Life series is the most viewed vlogs from his channel. I also see a format here from Eater and Munchies with the food feature. This is kinda more on a serious tone but I wouldn’t mind following this featuring local merchants etc.
Way to go again to Erwan and the FEATR team for highlighting traditional food whether Chinese or Filipino in an excellent way. Hope to see more wonderful food history finds worth knowing! Beautifully produced this one ❤🎉
Mam Linda reminds me of my departed grandmother Lydia. She grew up in a coastal town and she sold dried fish for the entirety of her childhood. Just a little kid walking around different parts of town with a basket in tow. With this can-do attitude and she eventually moved up in life to become an owner of a handful of properties. She also had a thriving convenience store which added to the success. She was fond of cooking and often went to public markets that we implored her not to go on, for health reasons. During the flatline there was a defiant pulse. She was stubborn till the very end. I miss her so much.
I'm an avid follower of Featr's series showcasing various small businesses but this one really hit me right in the feels. As a Fil-Chi myself who grew up around Ongpin and Binondo area, I've had a taste of Maki, Chinese Lumpia, Sibut, Kiampeng, Cha Misua because of my late taima (great grandma) and ahma (grandma). They would always cook these dishes which were really good! They're gone now and you know sometimes I just wish I could get a taste of their cooking again...like I'm always looking for that flavor/dish. I will definitely try China Mommy! Thank you for featuring them and thank you for making these heartwarming videos. Keep it up, Featr team! ❤
Congratulations Ninang Linda and the whole Chinamommy team🙏🏻 She deserves all the love in this world because Ninang Linda is such a kind hearted, generous, talented, beautiful person ❤❤❤
Proud Chinoy here! Definitely one of the advantages being a chinoy is having the best of both worlds especially in terms of food.... growing up with my mom's home cooked chinese dishes, and at the same time enjoying pinoy food as well. This was a great and quality production, congrats to everyone involved.
Thank you for including my mom (Vicky) in your video and more importantly for being Mama's suki. :) watching this makes me really emotional. We are blessed to have such dedicated and loving mothers. :)
I'm blessed to have Fil-Chi bosses at work, who values family-spirit the most. I remember our company's owner thru China Mommy 😊 tough and warm at the same time ❤
What a beautifully written story. The interviews were amazing. Following china mommy through the palengke and hearing her speak with the vendors, it brings me back to my childhood. As someone with parents who are also aging, it warms my heart to see her find fulfillment and the bond she has with her son. Thank you for this!
Thank you Featr for showing us who China Mommy is. I've always loved their dishes and would only eat at the grid to have a taste of their crabs and lumpia. I now understand why their dishes are so good--it was all made with love.
China Mommy is so inspiring!❤ this is also what i've always wanted to do-- cook and feed people i love... but i kinda lost my love for cooking when my Dad (67yo) passed in 2022 whom i've always cooked for-- breakfast-lunch-dinner-snacks in between... kahit anong food requests pinagbibigyan ko ang Dad ko. watching this episode made me cry and made me reconsider cooking again. thank you, China Mommy!❤
Ohh I love this and having a great time watching this episode. I relate so much with CHINA MOMMY. Watching her cooking and doing errands to go to market, I remember my mom. Because looking at her (China Mommy) I saw my mom to her! I love the way she manages her own kitchen and staff. I wish someday I can come back and visit Manila and I will get to see and taste her foods in her restaurant. God willing! 🙏🏼👼🏼♥️😍🥰🤩🩷💛💜💞
One of your best pieces. Now I know how much effort goes into Chinese lumpia, which I never appreciated until now. Next time I’m in The Grid, I promise to drop by China Mommy.😊 Additional: I checked China Mommy website, looks Iike they’re in Public Eatery as well.
I love this episode,. It really brings back memories. I love china mommys passion for food and quality shes very happy when she gets possitive comments. It reminds me of my Amah wayback. Very nice episode very worth it to watch. 😊
FEATR naman eh. You got me teary-eyed. This was very heart warming. Keep it up. Looking forward to try those foods. Nagutom ako at the same time nabusog din puso ko.
my mom and china mommy are the same magastos magluto kasi di pwede kulang ang rekados saka maraming ingredients ang mamahal tapos pag nag comment ka na mahal ta pwede nmn mag improvise sasabihin "oh di na ako magluluto, sana kayo na lang nagluto" 😂😂😂
I love chinese soup.eto ang namimiss ko.masarap ang long time soup w/ herbs da best.i used to work in hk with chinese employer sobrang sarap ng soup nila ako din nagluluto.kakamiss
Thank you Feature team for this episode. Thank you China Mommy and family for making your traditional chinese food available to everybody who misses their Ama’s or Angin’s home cooking. I grew up eating most of the food shown. I regret not having learned my Angins’ recipes, that she passed down to my Dad. I always thought that I had plenty of time to learn from him. Sadly, he passed away two years ago and I never got the chance. I’m glad this episode popped up on my feed. I’d like to think that my Dad knows how much I miss him and his cooking and this is his way of connecting with me. I will definitely order from China Mommy on my next trip home to the Philippines. Can’t wait to try the tastes of home again. Thank you Feature!
I remember my mom cooking her signature pakbet talong. I dunno but my sister got her cooking skills. And now, I am just cooking in my own experiences because of loving foodies. Thank you, China Mommy and fam for sharing this inspiration for us. Got energy fromit. ❤❤❤❤❤
This was such a nice feature. Tama si China Mommy, you can really taste when food is made with love. 😊 Hope I'll be able to taste their dishes one day!
Ang ganda ni China Mommy. I'm sure super stunning sya noong kabataan nya!!! She is funny and amusing too! And yes, natatandaan ko pa yung Escolta. Mom used to bring us there. She would buy our clothes at Berg's, and shoes at Sybelle's or Greg's. And yes, it can get emotional, but that's ok, Bro. You are super proud of your Mom, your China Mommy!!!
Ako i appreciate the Chinese kc sila tlga ung tumulong sa philippines nung time na need ntn ng help.
I am inspired by your cooking China Mommy, I miss Chinese food, and I should try your cooking, I also want to cook very uniquely. When we were in China I tried different Chinese food that I can't find here in the Philippines.

I love this episode. I miss my dad and so seeing this episod brings back a lot of memories when he would take me out to eat chinese food. Since he passed on sometimes i forgot my Chinese roots. This episode really hits a spot on my heart ❤️
Love this episode, remembering my Mom buying Chinese lumpia in divisoria and our Chinese kapitbahay giving us Maki but refuse to give ua the recipe, now i know where to go or to order for my Chinese food craving.
It was very touching to see the son get teary-eyed talking about how happy his mom is at 70. 😭
Truly amazing lalo na pagtumatawa ang China Mommy ! Its contagious!!!
I feel the same way. Thank you for this.
As a Chinoy living abroad. This episode is very inspiring to me. The son really cares about his mother. It makes him emotional just talking about his mother's simple happiness.
The whole vid made me crave for china mommy’s dishes at 4am. And you can really feel her love for cooking and it shines through her creations. Such a heart warming tribute

This made me cry! It's not about the age but how you achieve your passion is the most important. Seeing China mommy's happiness says it all. =)
Young aspiring chefs should take a page of this gem of a mom. If you take shortcuts, you get cut short. Mabuhay ka China Mummy! ❤
Way to go again to Erwan and the FEATR team for highlighting traditional food whether Chinese or Filipino in an excellent way. Hope to see more wonderful food history finds worth knowing! Beautifully produced this one ❤🎉
First kong nanotice yung color grading parang inspired sa Everything Everywhere all at once. Ang ganda po pang Hollywood ang productions....❤❤
I watch food docu ng Netflix and this video quality is on par. grabe 5/5 production

Are you still proud that the government of China attempts to steal West Philippine Sea and your fellow Chinese look down and insults us...
Thank you for including my mom (Vicky) in your video and more importantly for being Mama's suki. :)

I'm happy for Oliver and his family. As someone who came from a family we were not able to preserve my lola's cookings. It's really different.

China Mommy is our favorite stall at the Grid. Crabs are not affordable, pero masarap yung dishes nila kaya sulit. Their dishes are such a treat.
Yun lumpia na yan Sobrang sarap , delicious naman talaga Chinese food
Would you know kung no meat po ang lumpia ni mommy? Gusto ko sana masubukan kung purong gulay (vegan) hehe
I remember my mom cooking her signature pakbet talong. I dunno but my sister got her cooking skills.
