- Clip from Star Trek: Prodigy (2021) - Season 1 episode 5 "Terror Firma"
The USS Protostar initiates its protostar drive and enters proto-warp for the first time.

For anyone who ever watched Knight Rider, The Protostar has Super Pursuit mode! LOL I love this show, I can't wait for January to watch the rest of the season!
Like kitt once per episode
OMG YES!!! XD also funny fact, i made a lego star ship that i said was designed to be faster then any form of warp capable ship, faster then even Quantum Slipstream (which i still believe is faster then transwarp) and i unimagninally called it Hyper Warp, using half the end of its saucer as a giant Warp Coil, it can reach speeds that what would take normal warp centuries to go to another galaxy is now achieveable in under a month, THIS SHOW BACIALLY BROUGHT MY IMAGENATION TO LIFE AND I LOVE THIS FOR IT
@@FederationThunderbolt I think we all did that at some point. Its not a particular creative feat. Goes to show how creative the show is.
@@joeswanson733 oh yeah
Never thought of it like that, it even transforms!
Fast and The Furious Delta Quad Drift
Vtec just kicked in yooo
Can’t help but see the protostar as a bigger version of Mando’s N1 starfighter: 3 engines, tear drop shape, faster than normal warp, found and recovered to operational condition
Protostar drive is remind me a Slipstream Core from Andromeda.
Sweet! I'm just loving it!
I would have loved to have a Borg Cube appear right in from of his ship at the end. ;-)
that would have been awsome the borg apperaing and telling him resistance is futile. Can someone pls make that happen?
4,000 light years in like what? 30 seconds? Maybe even shorter… damn
The Quantum Slipstream drive the VOY crew remade in 'Timeless' (or, version 2) was capable of traversing 10 000 Ly's per minute.
So, the Proto Warp is effectively Transwarp, but with speeds comparable to Quantum Slipstream V2.
@@deksroning125 10,000 a minute?! They said it would take about 3 or so months to get back to federation space I think
@@Seven35888 That was with Version 1 as seen in 'Hope and Fear'.
That version of QSD maxed out at 300 Ly's per hour (which is probably not something that could be sustained even by the fake Dauntless indefinitely - and that's why it was said it would take them 3 months to remain in Slipstream to get back to Federation space).
In the episode 'Timeless' (roughly 4 months after 'Hope and Fear' e[pisode) the QS drive was remade by the crew with Borg technology and benamite crystals for the version 2 of the drive and had a quantum matrix... and it resulted in VOY traversing 10 000 Ly's in about 1 minute (before future Harry Kim sent the necessary phase corrections which dispersed the sliptream and saved the ship).
More along the lines of a minute I think? Still damn fast by federation FTL options, though.
the protostar drive pretty much is the budget version of quantum slipstream. in a blink it puts you beyond sensor range. great way to escape. but i wonder if it can do 300 light years per hour.
Agreed. It's awesome. Can't wait to see more of it
@@adaster98 Reminds me of the Starburst from Farscape, though thats more of a jump and the destination is essentially random.
300 light years an hour? It went 4000 light years in seconds. This is easily the fastest ship Star Fleet has ever seen besides the Borg and their transwarp hubs, and the USS Discovery and the USS Glenn from the 23rd century using the Displacement Activated Spore Hub Drives.
@@temi19We don't talk about the discovery, fuck the discovery
Did they just warp speed inside of warp speed...wow
It's only happened once before.

@@madcapmagician3130 You will have to pry that dish from Boimler's fingers.
Like race speed but like look star wars speed 😂
The next season will be good... let's make this one live action boys
So this ship has a Black Alert too huh?
Think of it more as Slipstream as far as we know that Voyager experimented with in.
That's actually what I was going to say.
Except instead of using magic mushrooms it uses science, in this case using a captured proto-stellar mass as a power source. Which admittedly is right up Starfleet's alley.
Isso x wing?!
Just reverse the polarity of the neutron flow. Careful, or you will end up having to go to Mauve Alert. Also, make sure the space stream you are going through is the right color. Blue will take you to the past while red takes you to the future. Another thing. Beware of paradoxes. If that happens then the resulting damage can destroy most of the universe or a piece the exact size of Belgium. Kind of anticlimactic actually. Really, Belgium?
Are you sure? It does mean we have to change the light bulb. 🤔
@@NuclearFridge1That's for going from blue alert to red alert.
The new Clone Wars series looks weird
Wait why does he want it so bad... and why aren't they heading for federation space right...
They have never been to the federation and doesn't know it and they got some trust issues from their bad start with bad people who enslaved them... And he probably wants it for the novelty tech, the protostar drive... Maybe he needs it for something or maybe he just wants it because of how incredible it is. Lot's of unknowns so far. We don't even know when this is how far into the future it might be... Maybe the federation is long gone, maybe humanity is gone or chagned and most of the alphaquadrant. We don't know how long the ship had waited there. Actually, I heard someone mentioned a date in a utube video... No idea where they got it from.
What the heck did I just watch? That isn't Star Trek.
Oh it absolutely is.
This is as Star Trek as it gets.
Obviously you watched something else, we're all watching Star Trek ;)
so this isn't star trek, but Discovery's spore drive "giggle" is?
pseudo science iis so star trek that it hurts
Gynocentricism much?
This is so out-of-nowhere that I don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. I get what the word you made up is supposed to mean...I just don't know why you're using it.
Also, you spelled it incorrectly anyway.
When referring to something being central or centrist, you spell it "centrism," not "centr_ic_ism" So the word would be "gynocentrism."
Now, when you make up words in the future, you'll know how.
