I am so excited for Everything is Tuberculosis! As a long time vlogbrothers viewer, I know how much John cares about TB and its ongoing effects. He was a part, and got us nerdfighters involved as well, in some pointed activism recently that got the prices for the TB testing cartridges brought down so that more people can be tested earlier! He is also often platforming experts and other activists on the topic and sharing book recommendations. Plus Good Store, John and Hank's charity shop, gives all of the profits on their items to either Partners In Health or the direct funding of TB treatment centres in Lesotho, which has the highest rate of TB in the world.
I honestly think Everything is Tuberculosis might be my MOST anticipated release of the year which is strange cause it’s nonfiction and also there’s new VE Schwab and Martha Wells etc but The Anthropocene Reviewed was my favourite of 2022
🦋 A book released in January I think you’d like is A Language of Dragons by S. F. Williamson out January 7th. One book released in February I think you’d like is The OtherWhere Post by Emily J. Taylor out February 25th. One book released in March I think you’d like is Rings of fate by Melisa De La Cruz out March 4th. It is said to be princess bride mixed with the wheel of time and I know how much you like wheel of time. A book released in May that I think you’d like is Isles of the Emberdark by Brandon Sanderson out May 1st.
Ooh, anticipated releases! It's always fun to see what books others are looking forward to. :) The books I'm most excited for are all sequels: Faithbreaker by Hannah Kaner; A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett; The Strength of the Few by James Islington; and The Ragpicker King by Cassandra Clare.
Samantha Shannon lives with several chronic conditions so she can't write as much, especially with the insane amount of work she put into the world building and creations of those books. (And for RoC). She hates taking so much time to write but you can't rush your body or your mind. She also travels to write correctly her books (for thr dark mirror, Italy!)
oh for Joe Abercrombie I'm reading the Half A King trilogy. I've finished the first book and it's actually really good! It's basically about a crippled prince (he has a gimp hand) being thrown to the crown when his dad and older brother die in battle. But shit goes south for him real fast. and when you didn't think it could get worse....it does.
🦋 I'm also really excited for Silverborn and keeping my fingers crossed we're getting it in 2025! Very interested in trying The Knight and the Moth, The Devils, and Witchcraft for Wayward Girls as well. I'm also looking forward to Vesuvius by Cass Biehn, which I think is out in June--a lot of people talk about being Ancient Egypt kids, but I was 100% a Pompeii kid so I'm interested in seeing what they do with a YA fantasy set on the run-up to (and during, I'm assuming) the eruption of Vesuvius!
I'm most looking forward to Eldritch, book 2 : The Eating Woods, and Enchantra, book 2 : Wicked Games both in April, City of Smoke and Bone book 4 of House of Devils in May, and Primal of Blood and Bone : FBAA book 6 in June - for the first half of '25.
My most anticipated release is The Book that Held her Heart by Mark Lawrence. I'm simultaneously so excited, and terrified it won't stick the landing! I'll also admit that I'm on the Onyx Storm train - I wasn't sure my 5 stars for Fourth Wing were genuine, but then I gave Iron Flame 5 stars too, and am therefore forced to accept that I'm just trash for that series! 🤣 🦋🦋
Some of my most-anticipated for the first half of 2025 are: "A Sea of Unspoken Things" by Adrienne Young, "Death of the Author" by Nnedi Okorafor, and "Four Ruined Realms" by Mai Corland (all Jan, according to GR); "Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales," "Where Shadows Bloom" by Catherine Bakewell, "Spells, Strings, and Forgotten Things" by Breanne Randall (Feb); "Kills Well With Others" by Deanna Raybourn (March); "Silverborn," "Vera Wong's Guide to Snooping [On a Dead Man]" by Jesse Sutanto, "Gifted and Talented" by Olivie Blake, "Love at Second Sight" by F.T. Lukens, "The Amalfi Curse" by Sarah Penner, "Direct Descendent" by Tanya Huff (April); "The Knight and the Moth," "Dream On, Ramona Riley" by Ashley Herring Blake (May).
I’m lucky enough to have read ARCs of Witchcraft for wayward girls and Rebel Witch. I hope you enjoy both when you get to them! Sadly Swordcatcher wasn’t for me, despite loving Cassandra Clare, so I won’t be continuing with that series. I’d not heard of that Jessica Townsend series so now I’m going to have to look into that though coz I’m loving the sound of it!
I'm most excited about Deep End by Ali Hazelwood, I'll probably read it as soon as it comes out. I'm going to go to my library app and get on the waiting list.
Will we get A Witch’s Guide to Modern Innkeeping in 2025?? If so, I’m excited. Also keeping my fingers crossed for Morrigan Crow, and some of my favourite series are getting continuations. Godkiller, Emily Wilde, Amina Al-Sirafi, HMRC… It’s gonna be a great year!
I’ll try and be brutal and pick my top 5 - Grave Empire, Four Ruined Realms, A Drop of Corruption, Kills Well With Others and The Amber Owl. I’m excited for the next bone season book, but I’m not reading them until they are all out, I feel she doesn’t care about the series much any more and they are to complex to read one every 3 or 4 years.
Iron and Embers is one I am serious looking forward to 😃 Villains who are destined to die vol 7, dinosaur sanctuary vol 6, the language of dragons, the Thursday murder club book 5 and the third book in the Molly the Maid series ☺️☺️🦋🦋🦋
I mean..., my most anticipated release is the next book in the acotar series...., when are we gonna have an announcement of the release date alreadyyyyy(?) 😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂

I’m excited about Breath of the Dragon by Fonda Lee, which is releasing on January 7, and I’m so excited.
I am too! 😊

So many great ones!
🦋 I’m pretty excited for the Ragpicker King as well, read book 1 earlier in the year and really enjoyed it
I was shocked how much I enjoyed it, hopefully we leave the brothel ‘definitely not a YA’ setting that felt like overcompensating in this one though
I’m lucky enough to have read ARCs of Witchcraft for wayward girls and Rebel Witch. I hope you enjoy both when you get to them! Sadly Swordcatcher wasn’t for me, despite loving Cassandra Clare, so I won’t be continuing with that series.

A Fate Forged in Fire by Hazel McBridge comes out in May, I managed to get an ARC and wow just wow 😂

YES ANTICIPATED RELEASES!!!! Ooooo the new John Green nonfiction sounds fun.
I cannot wait for Stephen Graham Jones' new book! 🦋
Yes! Buffalo Hunter, Hunter! 😊
I am excited for Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales and Witch Hat Atelier Vol. 13 🦋
Onyx Storm is definitely my most anticipated release🐉
I can’t remember if you like Abby Jimenez but she’s got a new book coming out too!!!
