    Great way of teaching. Nice to learn the angles, and approaches to getting the mortar just right. Haven't done a lot of bricking but always have trouble with buttering the ends and wondered why. Now I know. Thanks to the best bricky ever.

    Well done Stu, I've watched two of your videos thus far (The "How to lay bricks for beginner") and this one. I thoroughly enjoyed them both, and they kept my attention span throughout. Well presented and explained including the pitch, tone, and pace. Well done bro. Now looking forward to catching up on the rest. I've learnt a lot and a refreshment follow up to a course I took several years ago. Thank you.

    Thanks and GOD BLESS you for sharing these insights with us, especially the DIYers and amateurs in days when it is so hard to find a bricklayer. Keep these videos coming as I have been able to install coping stones over a brick wall. Now I just have to complete adding 64 blocks to my front wall to make the pillars (8 blocks above the existing wall laid flat 2 each level).

    When you’re done with your practice “stack,” do you tear it down immediately or is there some cool trick to clean it up after it sets? Might be a dumb question but I figured I’d ask anyways. Thanks again!

    Brilliant Video Stu! Love watching your content. Given me the confidence to do some repairs to a garden wall of mine. However I can never get the mix to be as "smooth" as yours? 4:1 with plasticiser and some water. But never spreads the same as how your mortar does.
    Also find that if I place a brick (engineer brick) and try to tap it down to place, if I then try to remove the brick to redo it, the compressed mortar feels like it lost lots of moisture and can't be reused. Is that normal?
    Thanks, really appreciate all your great content and hope to learn more :)

    How do you calculate and maintain the dimensions and length of a Brick Wall? How are the dimensions and length of a Brick Wall arrived at so that it will work out to a perfect number of whole bricks without having to saw or to shorten a brick or having to plug a two inch hole at the end of the brick wall? As you are making the first run of the Brick Wall; placing brick, mortar, brick, mortar, brick, mortar; how do you keep the length of the brick run in compliance with the theoretical length and dimensions of the brick wall? A slight increase or decrease in the width of the mortar joints will increase or decrease the overall length of the brick wall causing you to saw or to shorten a whole brick or having to plug a two inch hole at the end of the brick wall.

  • @Welcome2us
    @Welcome2us ปีที่แล้ว

    You have not showed rebar in the wall is it necessary or not. If yes why and how. Please guide me. I am confused by watching few videos where builder build the wall and it fall down with one push while they were planning to make roofing 😮

    What do you do if you have to rebuild an old wall, with built up levels either side of it, say concrete one side and a patio and concrete steps/path the other side? Do you need to smash everything, to bring the levels down and relay the foundation footing?🤷‍♀️😭😭🤣❤️

  • @JameyRocket
    @JameyRocket 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Use your trowel to smooth out the top of your mortar pile then with the tip of your trowel make about a 3 inch long slice into the mortar then push your trowel under the slice and push down on the handle of your trowel slowly to bring up the tip of your trowel that's under the slice. Your welcome.
