It's harsh. Doggo just wants a bit of quiet. My old dog was like that in the evenings if we had the tv on too loud. Admittedly he just huffed and took himself off to bed rather than blowing death sand over all creation, but same idea.
I think that this version of Sutekh is actually quite sweet looking. To me he looks like a Flying Fox (the bat, not the rope slide) who is hugging the Tardis like a teddy bear. And he has a cute velvety nose that I want to pat. The only creepy bit is the words that come from that lovely resonant voice.
I was saying that too.. Boop the Sutekh snoot 😹 no matter how bad the survival instincts there.
This isn't an Easter egg, but I just want to say that Sutekh looks _awesome_ (the dog-ish thing, not the skull people). I know he's evil and everything, but _damn_ a jackal in a big black cloak looks cool.
Garnets are often used as fake rubies, indicating that this dude is not the real deal.
Hmmmm...Davies going for a bit of a bait & switch, with Ruby's birth mother Louise being seemingly set up as some major entity but actually being a normal woman vs. her father being established as just human...but is later revealed to be something more.

Your reference for 1066 doesn't make sense if Sutekh was only on the TARDIS since Pyramids of Mars, it would make more sense if it was when the 11th Doctor visited in Pond Life Part 5 and got it hit with an arrow.
I mean, it's not like They haven't gone to every year only ONCE. It's not timelocked like 1920s NYC.
The fact that the Doctor mentions 1066 means that he has gone back at some point after pyramids of Mars.
In Pond Life Part 5 he went to 1066.

@@cptgrover I had a similar thought as well when I saw it. That said, I think RTD is taking sheer delight in upsetting fan expectation. So, I don't think I would necessarily attribute anything significant to that moment. At least not Clara. Perhaps someone who knew about Clara and wanted to set her up...
There’s a famous hacking incident that involved a whistle. Captain Crunch cracked a high security system with a tin whistle. This was back in the modem days when computer communication used tones.
Did anyone else notice the registration year of Mel’s scooter? It was a 75 plate meaning it couldn’t have been registered before September 2025, either the props department made a mistake or there’s a reason why the cars/bikes are registered a year and a half further on than the episode was supposed to be set. (there were at least 2 other vehicles with 75 plates over the 2 episodes.)
Maybe it's a reference to the "UNIT dating controversy."
From classic Who where one of their episodes made a mistake saying that Brigadier retired from unit in 1976 when previous episodes have shown that he worked in unit in the late 70s and Sarah Jane said once that she and the doctor were from the 80s. There has been a DVD Special feature about this and a few references in new who. Maybe they thought it was funny to throw in some dating inconsistencies into this episode with unit because of this.
@@DanBen07 it could just be the fact that TV series can use number plates with random numbers if they’re doing a production set in “modern” times and they thought no one would be as pedantic as I am over number plates (I always count them when we get the changes in March/September so notice things like that more than most others would, plus I’m, on the Autism spectrum so…)
They were in the future in those scenes. Pretty sure it is stated at some point but cant remember the exact year. 2040 maybe
@@burtdurger847 the number plates were visible in the scenes when the dust cloud is chasing Mel and the Doctor through London in “2024” not the scenes set in the future though. It’s either the production company only being able to use number plates not yet issued for film work, or it could be something to do with the Toymaker or Mrs Flood (if the theory that she’s either the god of stories or the god of time turn out to be true)
Referencing 2005, obvious nod to RTD1. Referencing 1999, nice acknowledgement of the TV movie, and not the only one in the episode which is nice. But referencing 1066, from the Time Meddler story? It can be a random reference, but I find it suspicious, with all the talk of memory changing and the details from the scene in the Time Window that ended up not being well explained. And I have a feeling Mrs. Flood is involved in that.

Whistle is a sonic device, he did it so sutek would have no idea The Doctor could still control the Tardis.

Also a cancelled TV story for the sixth doctor where he would have gone to Blackpool and encountered the toy maker. They had filmed a scene at the end of an ep where the doctor says they're going to Blackpool but they had to change it because this episode didn't get made. But it was made into a target novelization.
I think the eighth doctor companion Lucy Miller was also from Blackpool

Point of order: The pictures at 7:13 in this video aren't the same photo re-coloured. The poses and expressions are completely different. They were probably shot at about the same time and at least one of the backgrounds is probably digital, but to reverse the Office meme, they're not the same picture.

One of the things about Mrs Flood that made me laugh a bit during that ending is that, just like Missy, she was giving me Sinister Mary Poppins vibes 🤣
I hope that the line that Mrs. Flood said to Cherry before they were both dusted was an Easter Egg of some sort because I feel like that hinted at something.
In the Brig's First appearance in the Web Of Fear with Troughton, his guns didn't work against the yetis there either.
The fact that Mrs Flood has all those stickers of different places in the universe like Torajii, Paradise Towers and Gallifrey on her suitcase definitely tells me she's not human! But who is she?!

Considering how popular the 12th Doctor is, I'm surprised you didn't mention that he whistles for The TARDIS in the Return of Mysterio or whatever that episode was called. Sure, he used his fingers not an actual whistle but I think the point stands.
Does anyone else have a hunch that Mrs. Flood might be "The Boss"...also...it was snowing in that last scene of her 🤔 coincidence? I THINK NOT!
When they brought up the whistle I expected there was going to be a version of k9 appearing at some point but unfortunately they didn't go there I thought it was going to be either a panel open up in the TARDIS and they're being a chunk of canine inside operating the Tardis or something like that if you remember the Sarah Jane Smith television series canine was under the desk and her house for I forget how long I don't know if they ever brought the character odor or not but he was in a area under her desk keeping a Time Vortex or something like that from consuming the Earth there was this little panel she opened up under her desk a couple of times in the series to check on Canine and they have little interactions. There was also canine version 2 I mean version 2 as indifferent physical form where he had his own Standalone series as a flying futuristic robot dog so I kind of figured there was going to be a little gag of one version or the other being somewheres inside the TARDIS controlling it via the commands of the whistle

I hope the future ms flood video talks about what she was saying to ruby's grandmum, because she said something about having so many plans before she died. Something makes me think she is one of or has connections to one of the members of the toymaster's legion. though possibly not with all the location stickers, those suggest she is a traveller, and the toymaster's legion/the pantheon seem very earth centric.

question: Did Sutekh take out the alternate reality that Rose and Meta Dr? And if he did, is it just dead? The Dr was able restart life by killing Sutekh in this reality, i dont think the other reality made it......
That assumes there IS a Suetekh in that timeline, as there is apparently no TARDIS in that timeline from what I understand. And since the world hadn't ended in that timeline in 1911, Suetekh doesn't exist.
@@TheRealAxolotlAnimates the Dr. said "Every world that I ever stood upon... all dead." Sutekh-Tardis landed in the alt reality to drop off Meta-Doc, Rose ( the Stage 5 Clinger), and Jackie off. There by creating a "Susan Twist" there. I dont think its there any more.

I can't help but wonder if they're doing some Shenanigans with the name Mrs flood. The bit on the roof was clearly a Mary Poppins wink. I'm surprised she didn't start floating. I get the distinct impression Mrs flood is Missy a lot of people haven't drawn that comparison yet and the stickers on the suitcase the line she made right before she turned to dust and the references of haven't you ever seen a tardis before suggest that she's Gallifreyan and the only person that comes to mind with everything there winking at is the master/Missy and that character keeps turning up like a bad penny. I lost track of how many times the master has died and managed to claw their way back whether it be some sort of a clone or something else

It's weird he said 1066 as a reference to the Time Meddler because that was before Pyramids. Meaning there's no Sutekh there. Unless he returned to that year after.
I'm from the U.S. and, for some reason, it only dawned on me just now that the UK PM is named Sunak. You can't tell me it's a coincidence that the Doctor Who staff decided to revive an obscure villain who has a name suspiciously similar to that of the head of a political party that has been in trouble for years.
Holy crap. Just realized, Kate asked the Doctor about his kids, and he says he didn't have any yet, but that could very possibly be Jenny who had Susan and I can't believe I never thought of this before. Unless I'm missing something obvious.
All those planets mentioned have significant contributions to death in their stories including Earth's past-future stories, was Earth Shock included, interesting with this one it was the dinosaurs being wiped out it was part of a myth that the Egyptian Gods first came to Earth around then and it possible Sutekh was part of this myth and this includes the City Of Death ending to as early origins of human history and those dinosaurs before humans. But in this story, the villain is influenced by an ancient alien god-like entry under the radar of the time lords. Questions of early influences from Sutekh?

I theorize Ruby’s biological father (William Benjamin Garnet) might secretly be The-Doctor’s son.
I remember a cradle an episode, a few years back, that hinted that The-Doctor, and River Song might have had their own baby.
I theorize the gender of the their love-child is a baby boy.
I also theorize that love-child, was protected by The-Silence race, by the request of (River Song).
In addition I imagine that, her baby son, would remain with them, up until he was old enough, to take care of himself.

I like the idea that "The Doctor's Daughter" is Susan's Mom, probably with some dude named Mr. Foreman as the Dad, and the doctor hasn't figured out where he got a grand-daughter yet. In my mind someone showed up one day on Galafrey and said "Here, take care of your granddaughter." "But I don't have children!" "Time lord stuff, just go with it"

"the dust to dust" thing i don't know if it is a reference to anything in special, but it was a popular fact in World Of Warcraft fo this year where a very choke point boss was spamming this dialogue while killing all party, if it is not referencing to this, then i don't know what is referencing to, but must be to something.

This was, by far, my favorite episode of this series / season... But my biggest question is where was David Tennant? I get that he's on a bit of a holiday, but was he not on Earth when the death dust was spreading? If he wasn't, did he not see it starts to spread across the universe, and think that maybe he should help out when I am basically calling his twin brother? And when the TARDIS was cloned, does that mean that the death god was cloned as well?
I mean, really... Inquiring minds have to know.
I'd notice a blooper on inside taardis when Ruby left the doctor, the police box was shown in front , so the police box will be shown reverse letters, where evey one can see the tardis, what a blooper😂, so rewatch you will notice

Re: Spoons. Was watching from beginning of new who with Christopher Ecclestone. According to IMDB In the episode Dalek. Van Statten says Goddam (the first time a "swear word" in doctor who) but apparently that was mild in comparison due to use of "spoon" being used in the context of cuddling (i literally read this this morning lol)
A dog whistle. I wonder what that could mean? Love RTD but he's a cheeky chap. Hilarious that he's been dog whistling the whole series and even when the characters on screen are literally using a dog whistle, we're just talking about a chap blowing a whistle. Brilliant.
