If you ever want to get rid of tannins, use a pack of purigen. I mistakenly put it in a black water tank once and the water went crystal clear in under 2 days.
Md fish tanks , what is the predator that u are going to put in the tank , since i have a tank with endlers and they are breading too much for what i intend first
Sorta would like to see the Amano shrimp and nerite snails outta there and replaced with ghost shrimp from the US and a native snail.... and make it more of a biotope.... the Krebensis c8chlids do better in a larger aquarium with african butterfly fish leaf fish congo tetras congo puff er s ropefish and all of those tough fish ... you're never going to be able to keep them in a small tank with anything else.... put emerald eyed rasboras or a tiny fish in that tank ... chocolate gourami are nice .... give those kribensis some room and bigger tankmates!
Dont change the Krib-tank yet, it is good as it is. The algae will also contain little crustaceans for the little ones. And like Gary already mentioned below, you need baby brine shrimp going! Will also benefit all the other fish, they are creazy about it. Have a looksy at some of the Aquarium Co-Op videos on how to raise baby brine shrimp, then you will get an idea of how it works and how fish react to them.
1st. Thanks for the great content 😁 I'd leave the krib tank as is for a couple weeks. Might find the odd fry survived. Those Rams will start soon. They will lay their eggs on that rock close to the section that they are preparing. If they don't eat the eggs, the wigglers will be moved to the spots that they dig out. They usually dig out 2 to 3 spots throughout the tank and move the fry from the one to the other fairly often. I found the best way to get mine to spawn is to do a 10% water change with cool water and to feed fry food. If the parents know there's food for the fry and fresh water is introduced it should trigger a spawn 😊😊
P.S. It's quite common for dwaft cichlid males to eat the eggs or fry. Sometimes even the females do. It depends on how safe the parents feel, how stable the tank is kept etc. etc. You can either remove the media on which they laid the eggs and attempt to hatch and care for the fry yourself or you can leave the parents to "learn" and become the type of parents that don't eat their fry when they are moody 😅. Love from South Africa!
Also the blackwater neon tank is looking absolutely gorgeous, I love how dark it is If you have all those different colours of shrimp on one tank, after a few generations all the offspring will just be wild type brown though
Iv'e never had to seperate krib parents from babies , but always have had them on their own or in a krib colony and always started them feeding either baby brine shrimp or Walter worms as they grow quicker . :-)
Endlers are my favorite fish. Picked up 10 feeders for $1 one day, and threw them into my newly planted 75 - only knowing they require a heater. One day I saw one birthing live young and my heart was stolen. All they do is fight, eat and breed constantly, they don't wait for any change in temperature or water conditions, it's just go time, all the time. lol fascinating creatures to watch.
Ah i love endler guppies! I even have a yellow and black snakeskin endler in my tank and i love him😍😂 idk why im telling you this but in my opinion your asian tank next to your desk is the most beaitiful tank you have❤️🐠
Its an easy tank to rescape yourself. Just had pearl weed and a few nice pieces of driftwood. His original build had many different types of plants but it looks like pearl weed took over. Hope this helps!
Hi all. I'd like to point out your ecosystem tank is benefitting from a 25 degree ambiance temperature. I believe this would not be possible in a lot of homes without heaters and corresponding bills. I therefore challenge you to build a low maintenance eco tank in your old shed and not to heat it. I think the change in plants cleaners and fish choices would be of great interest to those of us that want a nice unheated tank in temperate temperatures. Thanks for all your hard work in putting out these programs you really have a way of entertaining and informing on producing beautiful works of art. Your fish also seem very happy and it's lovely to see. 👍👍🤜🤜👏👏
Hey MD and the MD crew! I find getting hardscape and chucking it in works out best for me too. That's what I ended up doing with my video where I scaped a video @ horizon aquatics UK which turned out really nice. I find that if I overthink it my scape is not as good. Totally agree, process of creating something nice and relatively quick is nice. Great video and update. Nice on mate.
Good morning!! I love the endless you got!! The coolest little fish ever!! I have an antler project going on and I'm loving these little fellas!! This is my favoritis, the Amazon Aquarium 💚 (yes, I made up a word in your honor 🤣 because I speak your language I like to make words up 🤣🤣) Have you ever tried adding Purigen to your filter to remove the tannins on tanks that you don't want the water too dark?? Miracle stuff 🙏 The Rams are so pretty 😍 Stunning for sure!! Hope you're having a great day you and all my fellow MDers❤️ Stay blessed🙏🌿🐟🌿💚🤗😁
i have such endler and guppy envy! out here in hawaii it's difficult to get anything interesting at the fish stores, and agriculture/import laws are very strict, so i live vicariously through everyone else. i'm totally obsessed with endlers and those lyre-tail guppies are stunning!
Beautiful fish. Guppies are not giant Endlers. Guppies and Endlera are technically two different species, but they can produce viable offspring when crossed with each other. And essentially, anything that isn't a wild type Endler has been hybridized with Guppies. Most of the variations called Endlers are actually Endler/Guppy crosses.
Thank you so much for this video. I think this has convinced me to do guppies for my next tank. Their colors are so impressive I love the snakeskin hes so sharp looking
Love your videos MD, they are informative and your tanks are beautiful. There is one problem though, I always compare my tanks to yours, and it feels like I am doingg something wrong because I can't get them so lush and well maintained as yours. I know it's a bit like comparing my running performance to an olympic runner, but I just can't help myself. Please keep doing what you do, and keep posting new videos as often as possible. Already at school but definitely worth the time to watch. I’m just getting into keeping fish and planted tanks, and you’ve been a great help to me. Thanks for all that you’ve done to help!
bro I love your channel following u since almost the begin and I'm jealous (ofc in the good way) of all your tanks so this post is to congratulate first but also wanted to give maybe small suggestion: i had endlers and they are gonna mix up, I think is nicer to keep one strain and avoid strange mixes and looks also more natural. Same for the scape, in this one I was expecting more connection between the submerged and emerged part with more musk and plants with roots in the water! For the rest u are number 1 channel in yuotube for me. Cheers :) and keep it up like this. Luca
Maaaannnnn! Discus tank is empty.....bro....you have left us with a proper cliff hanger there! gonna use this concept for my channel if you dont mind sir MD! LOVE IT...im all subscribed, smashed the notification bell too (from like ages ago) so deffo cant wait to see that video. Your a scaping machine....coudl you do a video on how long it takes a week like how many hours a week you spend maintaining all these tanks (you may have done this video before? not sure mate). Ohhhh...new large scape....cant wait!
Those rams will be spawning soon!! They will lay their eggs on a rock and once the fries hatch they will move the fries into the depression to raise them 🔥🔥🔥
wow amazing out look.. I am doing a aquascape with a peace lily and other water plants what is the soil to use or the plants and snails will be in tank and would love to do one with water frog's
Does your dark wood get covered with bright white Nerite snail eggs? My 20 gal tank is 5 months old, I have 4 Nerites, and the wood is totally covered. Too many Nerites?
Pretty sure you've already chosen your predator fish to go in the eco tank but....if you can find them (hard to source) 1) Asian Stone Catfish (Hara jerdoni) would be a great addition for not only hunting on the bottom of tank but also good for clean up while only getting to a max 4cm and 2) should be easier to find lol, but what about putting your kirbs in there?
Awesome video!! Also recently I read that if you let shrimps of different colours breed eventually you will end up with all brown shrimps..so I think you should separate out and color coordinate (? 😂) the shrimps i guess

I don't understand what the reason is to change the tank up. There's so many other tanks to change up. It's counterproductive.
Nothin like watching MD Fish Tanks on the bus on the way to school. 🤙🏻
Watching MD on my work break ✌

Snake skin endler : that hooman that feeds us , is a fan of mine
All other fish : oooooooo
Also the blackwater neon tank is looking absolutely gorgeous, I love how dark it is

5:52 The Return of the Kettle! 😆
Iv'e never had to seperate krib parents from babies , but always have had them on their own or in a krib colony and always started them feeding either baby brine shrimp or Walter worms as they grow quicker . :-)
Happy to see the kettle make a cameo again! -- Reminded me we haven't seen a roll of paper towel pop up in the background of a shot in a while! =)
Endlers are my favorite fish. Picked up 10 feeders for $1 one day, and threw them into my newly planted 75 - only knowing they require a heater. I'm such a big fan of the Tiger Endler, those color patterns are just mesmerizing!
Ah i love endler guppies! I even have a yellow and black snakeskin endler in my tank and i love him😍😂 idk why im telling you this but in my opinion your asian tank next to your desk is the most beaitiful tank you have❤️🐠

For the crypts: Your rock work in this one was so, so good though- natural caves! And the growing foreground fits the natural look/habitat.
Can't wait for the Discus tank 😁
Just a thought - by removing the red fin tetras - maybe the krib parents lost their fry protection instincts and munch up the babies ?
That's exactly what I thought. Many people who raise kribs say to put some dither fish in there to kick in those instincts
If you got a good pair of Kribensis they will mind the ofspring alone in the aquarium without any problems.
You should keep the scape, its working for the kribs. But the HOB filtro could be sucking the fry. Best option will be a sponge filter
Got my first otto's the other day after watching your videos and they have cleaned my tank up perfect 👍
I verbally gasped when you showed the discus tank. Pumped!
Your tanks are phenomenal !! Love watching your videos and thoroughly enjoy the tank set ups!

Have you ever tried adding Purigen to your filter to remove the tannins on tanks that you don't want the water too dark?? Miracle stuff 🙏
The Rams are so pretty 😍 Stunning for sure!!
Hope you're having a great day you and all my fellow MDers❤️
Stay blessed🙏🌿🐟🌿💚🤗😁
Oh the discus teaser was great! Lol I’m excited to see what you create next
i have such endler and guppy envy! out here in hawaii it's difficult to get anything interesting at the fish stores, and agriculture/import laws are very strict, so i live vicariously through everyone else. i'm totally obsessed with endlers and those lyre-tail guppies are stunning!
WoW just "wow"
I've never been so excited to see an empty tank! 😂
Such a great VLOG today! Took my lunch break with MD and enjoyed it immensely!
Beautiful fish. Guppies are not giant Endlers. Guppies and Endlera are technically two different species, but they can produce viable offspring when crossed with each other. Thank you so much for this video. I think this has convinced me to do guppies for my next tank. Their colors are so impressive I love the snakeskin hes so sharp looking
Woah. Nice tease for the discus tank. Looking forward for the next vid
Dude you make my world so much better
I love everything about you!! Keep going
This is the endler content I look for
Rams are my favourite. I’m purchasing a pair next week I’m so excited. Leave the Krib tank for round 2!
Absolutely love endlers, and although they share the same family, they are a difference species than guppies.
The moment I saw the Discuss Tank empty I got chills 😳 can't wait to see what you will bring up with new set up .
the giant goldfish is a gregarious fish. Ember deserves friends and a better looking tank. even more so if used to make money.
Love your videos MD, they are informative and your tanks are beautiful. There is one problem though, I always compare my tanks to yours, and it feels like I am doingg something wrong because I can't get them so lush and well maintained as yours. Kribs are notorious for eating their fry in order to spawn again. Good luck 🍀
MD Thanks for being an aquascaping inspiration to all of us
very interesting film about Endler guppy, stay healthy !
Clever outtro with the empty discus tank. "Tune in next week..."
Foe the Kribs, if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it! They bred once already. Don't mess with anything, just let them be.
Yes.
Can you safely have a male only endler tank? I’m not ready to breed them but I’d love to keep them.
Thank you!
MD...what a cliffhanger! Can’t wait to see what happens in all the tanks, especially the discus.
Lovely tanks you are a genius you got very good eye I like your work very much 👍👍👍
Kribs, yeah mate - round two we are all learning something new in the hobby, wont learn anything if we don't try anything new - nice one mate
That's such a beautiful aquarium
Already at school but definitely worth the time to watch. I’m just getting into keeping fish and planted tanks, and you’ve been a great help to me. Thanks for all that you’ve done to help!
Another great video ! How about a tshirt with one of your bettas on it ? I would LOVE that !

Your tanks are beautiful! I especially love your discus!
Looks incredible!!
MD what camera and lenses do you use? Quality is top notch 👌
I say have some sort of dither fish in the Krib tank this is important to keep their instincts strong and so they don't eat the babies.
Maaaannnnn! Discus tank is empty.....bro....you have left us with a proper cliff hanger there! gonna use this concept for my channel if you dont mind sir MD! I say redo! MD breeding! Dean at aquarium co-op better watch out 😂
Nice tunes 👍🏿
🎶🎵
I'm new in the fish keeping hobby. I've been in it for a year. I'm still trying to keep my plants alive. I have a couple of Betta tanks.
Those rams will be spawning soon!! They will lay their eggs on a rock and once the fries hatch they will move the fries into the depression to raise them 🔥🔥🔥
Hello, what water solution did you used in your aquarium, i see that you can put it even with fish inside
Do you put your tape safe in then fill or as you fill or have you treated your water before you put it in ?
Hey MD, just a quick question..
Can I use Coco peat to make tannins???
Thanks in advance! ❤️
Amazing fish 🐋🐠 tanks ❤️❤️👍🌸
wow amazing out look.. I am doing a aquascape with a peace lily and other water plants what is the soil to use or the plants and snails will be in tank and would love to do one with water frog's
beautiful fish tank 🥰
hello, what measures does the aquarium have?
Do you think i could keep some endlers with shrimp in a planted tank
Does your dark wood get covered with bright white Nerite snail eggs? My 20 gal tank is 5 months old, I have 4 Nerites, and the wood is totally covered. Too many Nerites?
I LOVE the krip tank.. I’d just like the pears weed removed. Thanks my 2cents
Were do you order your plants and fish from because I can’t find Were to buy Rotala or that red Ludwigia
That moment when you wake up and MD fish tanks uploads a new video 🤩
Awesome should be lot's of color in that tank in about a month
Do you have a link to this device you use from not overflooding your aquarium? I really want one as well :-)
Yoo he dropped that discus tank tease at the end
Pretty sure you've already chosen your predator fish to go in the eco tank but....if you can find them (hard to source) 1) Asian Stone Catfish (Hara jerdoni) would be a great addition for not only hunting on the bottom of tank but also good for clean up while only getting to a max 4cm and 2) should be easier to find lol, but what about putting your kirbs in there?
Every kid should learn how to make a ecosystem tank and slowly introduce livestock to start with - and watch MD to learn how to do it 🤙
Awesome video!! Also recently I read that if you let shrimps of different colours breed eventually you will end up with all brown shrimps..so I think you should separate out and color coordinate (? 😂) the shrimps i guess
Don't change anything in the kribs tank... they settled and comfortable.... they will breed on and on and on and on....
The aquarium seems awesome, what is the size? The wood up seems so big, realy nice.
Looking amazing
hi MD i'm new into this aquascaping things can you make a video oh how do you keep your water crystal clear without the filter. i had trouble achieving that. thankyou in advance :D
Hey I like your setup can you tell me were you get the water hoes front attachment
Your tank looks gorgeous bro 😍
Best aquascaper ever. You are insane sir 🤯🤯
when you drop off fishes back at the shop, do you get refunds for em ?
I think those rams will be spawning soon!
What does “predator time mean” in your tank please? You would introduce a fish predator to reduce the numbers?
No. Hes going to eat them.
When the guppy population get too big, the fry arent gonna be able to hide well, and its gonna stabilize
Very Nice
Did you feed the crib babies? They do require baby food
Could you do a scape with only red plants and a light grey stone
Hey MD , Is that alarm diy?
Hi. Can I ask you? Do you using air pumps and do you do gravel cleaning?
There is enough plants to emit oxygen for the fish, and don’t vacuum gravel; because it releases heavy amounts of ammonia
What is the name of the front plants please cheers
Mister Charming.
Crossing strains of guppies... well I guess the fish store sells more feeders than anything...
Awesome
MD this tank is comin along real nice. I have a question. What do you end up doing with your plant trimmings? Replant or throw away? since you have so many planted tanks i wasn’t sure.
