I used to be a motorcycle snob but as I get older I realise that this is the best way to go.
if its anything like Canada you don't even need a license for something with pedals.
He says the laws in the video. That particular machine he has needs to be registered, he needs a standard Class D drivers license, a helmet is recommended, but he does not need to insure or inspect it in NY State. It's not fast enough to require a motorcycle license, insurance or inspection.

I'm glad I found somebody else who has one of these Motron bikes, I got mine with an 85cc engine rather than a 49 and it climbs hills much better, but glad you like yours, they do kick major ass for a moped!
on these European mopeds there is usually an overfill plug on the side that overflows when there is enough oil in it. it usually a bolt or something. greets from the netherlands :P

I owned a handful of tomos peds in highschool.. they were super popular in my town in new Jersey USA. Ever since then I've kept a scooter or ped as a backup vehicle. Would love another Tomos but they almost never come up for sale and when they do, the seller is usually a little too ambitious price wise. All of mine were targa lx's back in the day

Nice, A General moped ! I had 3 of them when I was younger, but mine had the straight frame. Awsome bikes and pretty quick. Just had a Tomos also recently and I bought a racing carburetor off of ebay and slapped it on there. Sucker was quick. I would put super plus octane booster in the gas tank and I would smoke any other moped around town that came near me. was crazy.
You should put the old gas tank on.

I dont know if its like a scooter but you should put a U pipe and a 70cc tune that moped
i bet if you put a new clutch in it / scuffed up the friction plate you might get more power out of it... here in oregon you only need a drivers license for 50cc> scooters/mopeds, they have to be registered but im not sure about insurance ... but even if you have to have it im sure its only like $50 a year if even that

its a 4 stroke but he is putting in 2 stroke oil because the gas has oil in it and he is giving the engine lube
Yeah it's mainly older bikes or smaller engines that take oil and oil mix in the gas

I lovee some moped! Ive owned a handful since highschool. I always ripped out the oil tank and premixed. Scooters are cool too but the are NOT the same thing! I hate when people call scoots mopeds.. like, do you see any pedals?

I rode a moped when I was 11 or 12. My cousin and I took turns and thought it was smart to take it to the mall. We didn't even make there before a cop caught us. No helmet, no license (obviously because of our age) and no registration or insurance. He just told us to go back home. We had no idea of the laws. It was the best things to a couple of pre-teen boys who had nothing better to do. Someone stole it eventually, I think. It was fun and too short lived! Brings back memories...thanks! :)

Adding more oil to the fuel makes the mixture more lean, you're probably doing more harm than good......
Gearz Pop More oil, means there's less fuel, which makes the mixture leaner. Which is the reason it's hesitating on acceleration and struggling to idle.

+phatvortex no it makes it richer all he is going to do is faul a plug. dont post if you dont know what your talking about.
Phatvortex is right. Adding extra oil reduces the amount of gasoline per volume of fuel, which gives a lean mixture.Oily is not rich. Hopefully, the plug will foul before the engine seizes or holes a piston.
Another factor is that excess oil increases the overall viscosity of the fuel, to the point that the carburettor jets can't deliver fuel at the rate they are intended to - even leaner. It's normal practice when changing from pumped oil injection to premix, to go up a couple of jet sizes.
If the bottom end parts of a two stroke engine look under lubed when you inspect it, or the top end looks overheated, drop the compression a little and use a premium synthetic oil at the same ratio as usual. Extra oil is a last resort.
I remember people back in the 1980s buying brand new Yamaha RD 350 LC s (RZ if you are in the US) , putting extra oil in the tank to supplement the oil injector pump while breaking in the motor, and blowing up spectacularly the first time they gave the bike a thrashing...

Looks like allot of fun, here in South Africa if its under 50cc so 49cc "which most 50cc bikes are" you can ride it without a license or anything.
I wish they sold Puch's here in New York, you can order them built or order individual parts and build it yourself. I'm not much a handyman and hardly know anything about mopeds but I'd really love to get my hands on one of those one day.

I had one of those a few years ago, in my state you just need a learners permit and BoS/Title to register and a helmet to ride, I miss mine, I blew the motor in it though.

got a memory, when I was a kid we took sister to buddy's moped like this, placed the flower beds to the neighbor and call the door, I lifted moped behind while my friend ran and spins in flower so I jump on and we run away.

i miss my moped . i had a 2001 tomos targa lx 70cc kit and performence exhaust with a mod carb and performence air filter did 65plus mph
i dropped out of school in the late 70's but i did get a GED and i found my problem with school was the teachers didn't have time for me the one on one teaching i got with the GED program made it easy for me to learn
This is how I started life in Detroit..playing with scooters..now I own a big manufacturing business and make a bunch per year..you learn a lot doing those projects..and have fun LOL ..best to all of you.

the oil thats in there is actually gear oil , the clutch is actually submerged in the same oil , with mopeds like these theres usualy a screw in the side that when you take it out will have the oil seep out of the hole once it reaches the desired level

i have that same moped its a mortron with a minerelli engine. i cant ride mine because i cant find a drive sprocket it was missing when i bought it.
sounds like a vacuum leak around the carburetor. while it's running spray brakekleen or starter fluid around the inlets and hoses it'll revup and show you the bad boot or hose
pedals are uset to clime hils becus the engens are only 30 40 cc and can take 70 kg max speed the reach 40mph and one more ting can you tell me wath years is dis litle pedalbike
uphill you need to pedal to help this little motor ... and the mix of oil in gas tank is 4%/litre
go to treatsland if you need parts for it, the forums on moped army will provide you with most of the info you need. Me, my dad, and his buddies work on mopeds every wendsday. His buddies actually run a moped gang in StL MO called the ruffians
Carburetor needs a proper tunup. We have a rotory powered 50cc 4 wheeler, bogs big time going up a hill to where it almost wants to die but keeps going. A year earlier it wouldn't have even done that because the carburetor hadn't been tuned up for like 5 years. We had it tuned up when we had a part fixed at a local shop and it turns out it was running lean. Smokes like a banshee now under load but doesn't smoke when idling and running along flat surfaces.

I had a carabela with that engine. really fast moped, but couldn't get the parts I needed to keep it running.
