Three of my friends/coworkers and I went to see this rereleased in IMAX last night. Frickin' epic. No clapping, no cheering, just the entire theater focused on the film.
For me, the reason why this scene hits so hard because it's the ultimate realization of "no matter how old you get, you will always be daddy's little girl".
There's a piece of trivia about the masterpiece that it's Hans Zimmer's soundtrack that always gets me. Nolan didn't provide the composer major plot details about the film, but instead he chose to give a single page telling a story of a father who was leaving his daughter for work. This soundtrack is already legendaty, impossible to imagine this film without it.
Hans Zimmerman is def a huge factor to the success of emotional impact per scene like now every rewatch once a certain note begins tears get triggered and start shedding. Watched in on imax last night and goddamn.
Saw this last night at its re-release in IMAX to a packed Theater.... Like with these reactors all of the emotions came flooding back with sighs and tears echoing throughout the Theater. One of thee most visually stunning and emotional movies ever made..... ❤❤❤❤❤
Imagine for a moment. You're in the hospital, ready to say goodbye to your grand-grandma and all of the sudden her father walks in looking even younger than you How much would that f*ck with your head
It would be a huge shock for us, but for the people on that space station, maybe not. They're living in a "miracle of science", so perhaps their minds are more open to seeing Joe Cooper come back from oblivion.
Here's the kicker;- He never got to meet his son ever again, people and community he knew, lost to time, there's grandchildren that died he didn't get to meet, He's bloodline on his son's side is completely anonymous to him.
Yeah. Too bad thry couldn't explore him trying to reach out to them but I guess the movie would have to be way longer and I guess this was a good enough ending
I love that guy. If you haven't seen his emotional reaction to Good Will Hunting, you should. His willingness to be openly vulnerable is so refreshing and different.
I like to think that he didn’t leave immediately, that he stayed for a while to meet all of them and possibly to be at her funeral. They just chose not to show us that part.
@@dudedevil4x4 Ah yes, the most lazy of all film/book theories; "They were actually dead the entire time/it was all a hallucination". It's a shit explanation that nobody wants no matter what the story is about. Whoever comes up with a theory like that should always just start it with "I actually don't have a single creative bone in my body, but I think..."
Nikki had the absolute BEST reaction @ 2:45. I mean you know THAT'S how a movie REALLY affected you, when it makes you question if you were right in not having more kids. FYI, Nikki & Steven have a GREAT channel. Please give them a visit.
If they saw the whole thing on their own they'd understand ;) I ALMOST broke down during my first watch of "Inside Out". That was the first movie that ever strongly threatened to trigger tears from me. During that first watch of "Inside Out", I had decided to hold it in, because my roommates were watching with me... BUT the amount of effort that took was actually SO painful, that I actually regretted holding it in! Then, after the movie, I discovered I was actually strongly CRAVING more tearjerkers, probably because "something still needed to come out" lol.
Now my question is: Does the magic spot next to Saturn move with Saturn? Saturn revolves around the sun, therefore it moves. Does that magic spot move with Saturn, or stay stationary?
We don't know. The wormhole was located near Saturn, but we don't know if it was orbiting Saturn, orbiting the Sun, or stationary. IMO, it is very unlikely that the wormhole was stationary.
So many young people today are missing out on having children, you just dont understand how wonderful it is to have kids and eventually grandchildren. Our children are our immortality, they true gift of immortality.
That's Malthusian nonsense that's been propagated for 200 years. If everyone on earth stood nuts to butts they would fit into the city limits of the City of Chicago. That leaves "a bit" of space on the Earth. We are nowhere near max capacity. You're just selfish (because I'll assume you still think you are entitled to government social programs, which are built on the idea that you will have enough kids to pay for what you'll take)
@elricofmelnibone8256 what an insuferrably stupid argument. This argument has been used for over 4000 years. Since The Epic of Atrahasis was written by an unknown Babylonian author around 1700 BCE. It was a stupid point of view then and it's stupid now. Have a family have kids it's the greatest and most fulling thing in the world.

I can’t hear this line without shedding tears.

Clapped before and afterwards. It’s deserved
@cornbredron Okay, yeah...I clapped at the end🙄. One of the few.
My daughter and I went last night, too. So so good.
@@darrenyoder5114 glad you enjoyed one of the best films ever made!!!

One of the greatest cinematic scenes in my opinion, SO powerful.

Such an emotional scene! Also this music is top tier

Epic film, stunning music and what about the visuals, a film that demands to be seen on a big screen.
Watching your kid die is horrible beyond belief, but watching your kid die of old age while you are still relatively young? That's mind blowing
That's gotta fuck you up mentally right

Dont know what you're talking about man. Im just cutting onions.
So, I guess it's safe to say Nikki and Steven may be adding one to the family now. Lmao.
Damn. Some of the previous reactors had me tearing up but Ash’s reaction out of them all broke me.

Yeah Ash is great. His reaction to Green Mile broke me.
Symbolism.
I know he wasn’t present their entire lives, but found it strange there was no curiosity with the family about even meeting him
I like to think that he didn’t leave immediately, that he stayed for a while to meet all of them and possibly to be at her funeral. They just chose not to show us that part.
It wasn’t needed for the flow of the scene, it was a special moment just for Murph and her Dad.
He died in the opening scene. Look it up.
@@dudedevil4x4 not a fan of that theory considering they showed a spaceship being stolen intentionally at the end.

Gahdamn this was a great compilation. I've watched this movie numerous times and it always hits me in the feels man.
This was another great movie. That was the Heartbreaking moment of the movie.
‘…because no parent should have to watch their own child die….’ She is stil her dad’s little girl.

Anyone who has kids will cry during this. If you don't your a robot.
As a father, this scene always sends me.
More reactors need to watch Seven Pounds. At least enough for a compilation.
"The Book Of Eli," twist reveal!
“Because my dad promised me”
this part fucked me up.. all of those people in the room were there because of him and they didnt even know or recognize him.

Older Murph send her father away for Brand after parent(s) should not see their child or children died before them.
Science in this movie is either practical or theory based on calculations because Nolan had an Astrophysicist named Kip Thorne as a consultant.
I hate your head in the upper right hand corner. It's distracting.
I used to, but now I see the floating head as a creepy voyeur. Like a landlord checking in on stuff.
