    Nice to se that the broken window has been fixed. I was there maybe 20 plus years ago, it had a broken windae at the time. The midges had a good feed on me as a result and I ws forced into another room.. Glad you didn't give away location as it isn't an MBA Bothy.

      Possibly a bit low and if there is sheep in the area, I would filter or boil.

      Always boil or filter. U never know whats upstream. I've seen streams that looked pristine only to find a dead sheep further up. I almost died of dysentery many years ago from drinking stream water on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Lesson learned.

    Was taken here by a local who knows locations of all bothies , MBA or not,.Would never have found it otherwise. It's not obvious on my map and the trees and shape of the land kind of conceal it till you are close to it. Well kitted out with the vintage newspapers as wallpaper giving it genuine character. Not spooky at all. Once spent 2 nights alone in Ben Alder cottage, legendary 'haunted' bothy. The noises I heard I put down to mice behind and below the wood panelling, which was a lovely piece of woodwork IMHO.

    • @WalkWithWallace
      @WalkWithWallace  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This one is quite well hidden away, had to make sure I didn’t give away the location either. Although the Ben Alder Cottage story has been debunked, still hear reports of strange things happening through the night. The Hermit of Treig was proper spooked out.

    Oh I hate that when I get a bad freeze dried meal, and I'm hungry! Had one recently - it pretended to be the Korean dish, Bebimbap, which I love. Why did I imagine a delicious restaurant meal could be freeze dried and put into a bag and somehow come out edible? I managed to cram down about 3/4 of it, and had to pack out the rest. Yuk. I'll stick with the tried and true. Good you had the beer to wash it down.

      Years ago it was too out the way to be connected to electricity grid . Estate worker/shepherd /gamekeeper and their families would no longer want to live there. Today ,solar panels , small wind turbine , in house water purification and a half decent 4x4 SUV would make this a nice home . There are empty buildings ,ruins all over Scottish countryside tell a variation of that story . The estate here has started pulling down remote empty farmhouses that are no longer wanted .
