But I think they accept most licenses (must be written with Latin alphabet). My license is from Romania and it was fine

We rented from Hertz. We usually go for budget rental, but this time we rented from an international company and paid for all the extra insurance just in case, and it felt like the best option. I know that it will be expensive, considering Guatemala prices, but it felt safe and it gave us a lot of flexibility which made us save costs on other stuff given that we could choose any hotel and any restaurant we wanted. And remember that the price for gas is very cheap. The service was good and the car (although pretty worn off) was good and took us all over the place. If you are more than 2 in your group, it should be worth it. Where do you recommend renting a car? Major rental chains seem to be a rip-off and was wondering if you have any suggestions or pointers.
