We love the outdoors and sharing the experience with our children. Kettle is a great place to visit. This was a great video and will be sure to check out more videos. Awesome family adventure!
@@FamilyonStandby I am still playing catch-up on your videos, but like the camping and heading out west videos, even though this was a departure from your regular content. We are just getting started on TH-cam, but love it so far. We travel around in our Jeep, Teardrop and with young kids exploring the outdoors - which let’s be honest not the most original, but it’s what we live to do.
You guys have a nice tent setup there. I remember our first time camping, and we got rain and didn't have a rain covering on correctly. We thought something was wrong with the tent so when we got back, we immediately returned it. 🤣Still made for some fun memories though!
It's a great tent! But now that we have a camper, its use is more limited. We get it out when we camp with the parents or friends. But it's a great little guy!
@@FamilyonStandby After I returned the tent, we ended up buying a camper as well. Of course 2 years ago we had a new kid, so now we need to do a camper upgrade if we still want to keep camping.
These kinds of stories do make for great memories. One of the first time we camped in our tiny camper it started pouring rain and we ran to Wal-Mart and bought a giant tarp. We must have looked really foolish to other RV campers. lol
we have camped with out oldest a few times, but in a pop up. I was excited to find this video for tent camping as I think that might be our next venture with both babies! also, hello from wisconsin!!
Nice tent I wanted to buy this tent but it seemed it would be hard to set up for a 5’1 person by myself. Love the vestibule, the windows and ventilation, and storage of that tent
“Wear your masks”? You’re outdoors! Haha. Now that it’s the end of May 2021, maybe you’ve relaxed your personal mask policy. Thank you for creating and posting the content!
At the time of creation, it was still unknown transmission. There were many people around. We certainly stand by our decisions to mask. As for now, we of course follow CDC guidelines for masking and are both fully vaccinated. Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
I've only been outdoor/tent camping once in my life. We are taking our kiddos tent camping at the nearby state park for Easter weekened. I'm excited and nervous at the same time because our youngest is on the spectrum. I'm afraid of her getting out the tent and roaming around unsupervised in the middle of the night. Any suggestions? 5 and 6 year old girls.
We had the same concerns! It'll be great fun. We put the zipper all the way to the top so the kids couldn't reach. You could also consider some sort of tie to make sure they can't undo if they can reach. Good luck!!
What mattress did u use for pack & play. I have chicco play yard but the mattress doesn’t look comfortable at all for my 9 month old. I wouldn’t use the basinet. She is too big for that and unsafe.
Very helpful. Planning a camping trip for next April (2022) with what will be our 3.5 and 2 year olds... maybe I’m planning a little early but I want it to be a success! Thanks for the helpful tips :) and for wearing your mask 💕
Your setup seems waaay nicer than what I remember growing up. I was just looking into getting a tent last night for picnicking since baby is a little too young for camping but this looks like a lot of fun
LOL. Bugland. When we went to WI, no one really wore masks. We went to the gas station with mask and they looked at us like we were crazy. Good to see you guys out and about. You guys are hardcore with your tent camping. We’ll live through you guys.
It's truly disgusting to see comments of people trash talking you for wearing masks. Like? During this time cases were extremely high. Thank you for sharing your camping set up! Our family is going tent camping and I haven't been tent camping since I was like 12 lol. Definitely needed a refresher!
probably because they were outdoors , and normally camp grounds are set up so that there a pretty good amount of space between families ... eh, at least 6 feet lol But then again this was the begining of the pandemic so the parnoia was strong with a lot of people . sure as hell wouldn't catch me outdoors in July with a mask on to avoid the super Flu but they were not hurting anyone either so who gives a crap
That tent is huge. So big that it has a crib in there. Cool 🔥 out. You guys could be the next Outdoor adventurer family. Our kids love water also. Love the drone shots!!!
You can plan a trip with friends to just to get the first time jitters out of the way. Camping is so much fun, and you will be amazed at how much the kids love it.
Go for it! Our family of twelve kids camped all the time and I started as an infant (I'm the youngest). Even when my mother became a single parent, five kids at home, we still camped. We even camped with another big family. Learn a bit about how to properly set up a tent and try it at home before you go (better to struggle when you're not pressed for time or daylight). I traveled solo across country about ten years ago and camped most of the time. Try state parks, they are cheaper and often have security (rangers).
Haha! We totally not camping people either. Definitely flying by the seat of our pants on this one. We'll travel anywhere in the world with no notice or planning, but camping scared the crap out of us. We had a blast, though.
Family on Standby, I have a question. Do you use a portable generator for your RV. Because I’m afraid that your children are not allowed to operate portable generators that use gas because it’s not safe. I care about everyone. Please click on this link to watch a video about generator safety advice. th-cam.com/video/QHaFA_RMXrI/w-d-xo.html I am just being kind to you. I hope you stay safe.
I loved your tent tour! Just bought this tent! Looking forward to using it..Do you have any tips for set up? Did it take one or two people to set up? Also is there a spot anywhere in the tent for an extension cord to come in at? Thank you!
It's SUPER easy to set up. Nick did it on his own in less than 15 minutes by himself as a test run, but in practice with the little ones around it took like 45 minutes haha! Definitely a one-person job, wouldn't recommend it be a toddler or preschooler. For electric, we didn't use the door opposite the storage area as a door. So we just ran the cord through that zipper and it worked nicely.
So cool to see you guys get over 1000 subscribers!!!! You look so different with short hair cut!!! Lol 😂 love the camp tour... Wow that is a big tent!!! You guys like to travel with Comfort!!
Thank you - it’s definitely something we’re quite proud of. And as far as the tent is concerned: credit cards points! Bought on a whim and thought, “what the heck”
Loved your setup and loved your mask n all until I saw just how many people you’re camping near 😆 but we’re in australia so we’re lucky with the room side of things 😊 thanks for the great video
Wearing a cloth mask outside judging people who have common sense.... Years later watching this vid makes me laugh even harder at all thw morons who went along with all the government overreach. I don't get it if you were that worried about getting sick from a virus why would you go out and be around others?
Decent camping vid but to the lady in the vid, keep video, mask comments to yourself and don't tell anyone what to do. Don't be such a liberal if you want to grow a channel. Your husband on the other hand, seems like a good dude.
Camping is the best thing for kids.... well done for getting them out there to experience it.
Totally is. And our kids are 1000% outdoor kids, so it's quite nice.
We agree! Getting kids outside in nature is amazing. It is amazing how much they just want to explore.
This is so important what you are sharing, families need to your point of view and fun perspective

Hello there! Welcome!

Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm confused. Where were the kids in the car?
Now that’s some observation! They rode with the grandparents in their car.
What mattress did u use for pack & play. I have chicco play yard but the mattress doesn’t look comfortable at all for my 9 month old. I wouldn’t use the basinet. She is too big for that and unsafe.
No mattress - it's safer to use just the padded mat that it comes with for tiny kids. So we just put a crib sheet on and call it a day.
I like the vestibule of the tent...good space.
It works out so nicely!

too great
So good to get back out again after lockdown isnt it

I really want to do this as a single mom- thats never been camping. Im extremely hesitant about all of it.

One more question...do you have the actual footprint to this tent or did you use something else?
We just put a tarp under, nothing special. Just made sure to fold it under so it wouldn't hold water if it rained.
A tip with kids is to bring a potty training potty. Doesn’t matter the age .. helps soooo much. Clean it out with water and cleaning wipes.
We definitely did that and it worked so well. Great tip!
