    Thanks for the tips! Yesterday, I went and sold items for the first time in years at Platos. They accepted everything except one item 🤯 and I had a full bag of items, in the xlarge H&M brown paper bag, if you know the size im referring to.
    I made $65.50!
    Somebody say gas money! lol

      Ooh that is a huge success!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen myself or anyone else walk out with plato’s closet accepting nearly everything - that’s so exciting🤩
      And I feel it with the gas money😂 getting that quick cash is a huge convenience!

    Thanks so much for the tips!! I was able to sell almost $2500 to Style Encore (owned by platos closet where I live) in less than 2 WEEKS! I know this is not typical and probably won't continue consistently but its been a great way to move stale inventory in a slow sales month and build up an emergency savings fund really quickly :)

      I love it!! That’s amazing to be able make that much in such a short amount of time👏 and a great option when sales are slow! I plan on selling a lot there if summer slowdown hits this year. Their payouts are definitely higher than Plato’s! Thank you for watching!😊

    Thank you so much for these tips! I went yesterday at 11 and a ton of ppl had already dropped off items! I’ll definitely go right when they open, mine opens at 9:30 am

    I sell to Plato’s closet and to style encore and I separate into different bags. I do this because I know that they both take different types of items. People always tell me how do you make money and I always sell myself, but they never buy it. Well if you don’t take care of personal clothes and you’re not taking the time to steam or double check for stains, such as make up for anything like that, make anything. I always seem to walk out of either one with cash. Sometimes I drop both bags off and just let them go through both of them depending on what styles I have that trip. If I don’t sell stuff at one, I just take it over to the other one, they are both right next-door to each other so it makes it very easy. And I don’t think people realize that they are owned by the same company. I always try to do a call ahead of time to find out what they are looking for. Because, just a waste your time and they don’t want some thing. Steam your clothes fold your clothes make them look as good as you can and you will make cash.❤

      Great advice! I didn’t know they were owned by the same company, that is really good to know; when I made this first I was only selling a Plato’s but have been selling to Style Encore for the past few months and love it! I do the same thing - bring 1 bag to Plato’s and a completely different bag to Style Encore, and some of the items are interchangeable. Presentation is definitely everything! My local stores have been adamant about no pet hair, excessive wrinkles, damaged items, etc. It has helped a lot shopping there too because I’m seeing less and less damaged items every time I go!
      Thank you for watching and for your comment!😊

    I was wondering whether you can sell just a couple of items? I was hoping to basically use the money I got to purchase other items from their store. (I would be bringing 1 pair of jeans, and 4 t-shirts)

      You can bring in just a few items! They are first come first serve, so I’d say either call ahead to see the current wait or get there right when they open to avoid having to wait to long for them to sort through your items!

    What is your strategy to sell purses like Ann Taylor and Tarnish? Do you take the tags off from the inside?

    • @closetbyjoelle
      @closetbyjoelle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t have experience selling either one of those brands to Plato’s closet, but I do know that cutting tags out can be a good strategy, especially for purses! Ann Taylor especially has trendy pieces, but platoons seems turned off by the brand as it’s seen as “women’s” rather than teenaged or “juniors.” So without the tag, they’d be way more inclined to accept it!I see a lot of unbranded or untagged purses at Plato’s so if they the style is good, I’m sure they’d take it!
