There is nothing like an amazing Geoff Quartet. Other than his wife Kathy saying she could use a fifth Geoff to take out the trash. He always does a wonderful job with his arrangements. Props to Eli for the lighting and Layne & Tony's PattyCakes Productions for the use of their space to video this.
I absolutely love the cadence he chose for this, and he had to have that signature E1 in there. He's able to put the emotions of a song to music--that's his real gift. So good! BTW, I love that hat. I rescue black cats so I need one.
He just gets better and better with age. Like a good wine, or so i'm told. Whether he's a quartet or a soloist with his own backing group, he does it so brilliantly. His harmonies in this and the way he switches the style surely makes it a unique arrangement.
Geoff kept teasing us😊 Every time he sang Tidings of comfort and… I thought he was going down, but no. He waited til the very end, and that ending was awesome!
I love that he sings it right. “God rest ye merry, Gentlemen.” NOT “God rest ye, Merry Gentlemen.” I was in choir K-12, and our High School Choir Director had us research some songs that most people sing wrong.

I couldn't agree with you more on everything you said, from his creativity and use of amazingly layered harmonies, to your lack of interest in Xmas music other than exceptional versions like a Geoff quartet! Geoff is really the best at what he does, from arranging to performing, sound, edits, everything! 💖💯🔥
I'd add that the drums gave the song a vibe apart from a Xmas carol, more like a medieval melody maybe? Not sure what, but I love it anyway! 😍🤯
I think you would actually like Home Free - Do You Hear What I Hear, it’s very different from most Christmas music
"God rest ye merry" is an archaic English phrase, with a more contemporary wording being "May God keep you joyful." How does God keep giving us this blessing of joy? As the rest of the opening phrases explain, when we are reminded of the day when He sent His Son to be born into our world, so that He could save us from destruction after we had lost our way. "God rest ye merry" indeed!
