At this point there's not much a crew can do other than to release the catchups they've recorded, but as others have said, the way supers are taken so wildly for granted and only read months after the fact, sometimes losing all context, is pretty appalling. I'm not sure how much supers do to keep the lights on, but if FNT and Open Bar can do catch-ups within the same week, then there's no reason between a three man crew that EFAP can't do the same.
On a bright side, for a non-paying viewer such as myself, these super late catchups give me an opportunity to rewatch old content they're catching up on, and, if they're actually late, this makes it a little bit more fun because i have the context and they often do not.
EFAP is a little different than most podcasts though. Most podcasts are, "let's have a chat about X." And when there's pauses in the conversation, superchats are nice way for the chat to chime with whatever be it poignant to the discussion or a funny thing or whatever, so it makes sense to read them as you go. EFAP really doesn't have time for that. Once 4-6 or even more people have said their peace on whatever silly thing was just said in whatever video is being covered, they really need to get back to the video. Depending on what's being covered, they can generally be about an hour into the stream and have covered only the first 2 minutes of a video. The EFAP train doesn't have time to stop for superchats, my dude. And 9 times out of 10, there's not a going to be a discussion needed for the superchat anyway. Also, I don't know where it says a streamer is obligated to read out superchats, I'm pretty sure everyone that does so does it out of curtsy, so Mauler and the gang taking time out to do these at all is wonderful. HOWEVER, that all said I do wish there was a better way to do it. There's only so much space for text and as far as I know there's no way to know at what point in the stream the chat was sent so it's quite literally impossible to know what the context was after the fact which can be extremely important. It'd be nice if they came with time stamps or something you can just click and get sent to wherever in the stream it was sent, that would probably make things SO much better. But I doubt TH-cam is going to program that just for EFAP.
@@jayjaydethyeah you get it. it’s a big difference between a 10 hour stream discussing a video and a 3 hour stream of current events. Efap used to try to do supers during the stream but it’s just not viable for them with the timing. But with every stream show you just have to learn and get used to the way the super chats are handled. I learned quickly that if I wanted drinker to read mine during the stream I’d have to get it in very early on. Same goes with FNT. And TNME is the worst imo. While efap may take a while to get to them, at least they will treat each one equally and actually answer the questions, if they can. Listening to Beardo power thru supers as fast as he can and ignoring real honest questions, is just so wrong to me. As much as I like those guys, they do not respect people superchatting. Unless it’s high dollar value, then they’ll make a big deal out of it. Another reason I appreciate efaps way of doing it, though I wish they’d state names, I’m glad they don’t state dollar amounts. Well Gary does the super chats himself while Drinker does the same if MauLer can't make it. I think MauLer does the EFAP chats when he can get all three hosts together.
Love you guys, but it'd make much more sense to have the catchups within the week of the episode they were sent in. That way if someone sends a super chat they only need to track the channel for that week to hear your replies. Since there's already a lot of episodes to catch up, you could add a second weekly catchup for recent episodes in parallel and run these older catchups till the list is completed. It's only 2 hours extra a week (until the older episodes are exhausted) but it would give super chatters so much more back in terms of recognition since they'd be much less likely to miss the episode or forget what they sent.
@@qZbGmYjS4QusYqv5 That argument doesn't really hold up when the suggestion is only to record a 2 hour, non-live, unedited video a week. He's been streaming many many hours with Metal this week, and has run podcasts like Star Grift in parallel too.
@ryanbyers4250 Exploiting people? Do you know how many streamers don't even acknowledge the super chats exist. Much less go back and read and respond to all they receive. I think calling what they do as system exploitative is not a very fair assessment.
At this point, it’d take two super chat catchups per week for them to get caught up so they can release new ones within a week of its EFAP, but that seems pretty unlikely. One can dream…

The death of TTS was a blessing in disguise. Their new stuff is far, far better than what they were doing with TTS. I do hope that they get to come back to it some day, but I am currently quite content with H:TP. Of course, none of that absolves GW, but it's still nice to see how far they've come.
