This is for the kids - This is not just an American style living, most of the housing in India other than Mumbai and a few metro cities were like this (bunglows). Concept has changed in the last 15-20 years to switch to apartments. People in Mumbai do not experience this as the concept of apartments has been there for a very long time hence a lot of people are not very aware.
It has a few Spanish and Italian design cues, but nothing about it is American, not the furniture, nor the furnishing, at best an Italian design fused to a boxy signature shabbily constructed Indian ethos.
@@NoName-bb2pu I don't think they meant American (except New York) with respect to interiors, it was more from independent houses/bunglows/vilas point of view
@@ItsWatchTimee there are more independent houses /bungalows or villas in India than America so that would make not much sense. Ah well, I'm a watch guy too, the photo is of the Seiko Presage I guess? i buy typically Swiss or German watches like Nomos, Baume et Mercier and Lange
This is the most beautiful house on this show ever... totally worth the rent they are paying...it is also tastefully done...and as a bungalow owner myself..this is the charm of a bungalow that you will not get in any kind of apartment.
That's the beauty of being an architect...900 sq feet converted to such a huge bungalow . And also very well educated family , raised well . humble and well mannered . God bless to this family and house. Najar na lage :) . Best episode till now
very rare to see place like this in Mumbai. Nicely done interiors and recycling. Most important greenary and garden with music instruments and books ....no wonder they dont want to go back to redeveloping apartment in shivaji park
What a treat to see such a property in Mumbai.Almost surreal.Very sure the tenant will never relocate elsewhere in the most unimaginable places coming up.
Thank you Vishal for showing this property in Saras Baug, being born and brought up in Mumbai I always wondered about the properties in Saras Baug each time I have passed by it. Kudos to Ratna for loving and maintaining the property, you can see the love and passion she has for this classic vintage property, the property reminds you of old Bombay when there were more bungalows and less people.
This property is Amazing. the tenant is also very hardworking, down to earth person and gives a very friendly vibe. rent is allright and if the owners would sell for 7-8 cr. i may even consider this locality sometime in future.
Incredibly beautiful home, and such a sweet family, including the dogs. I would love to hire this lady to decorate my home here in the US. She seems so talented. I was surprised to see the word "bungalow" being used in the video. In the US, a small one-level cottage or cabin is called a bungalow. The house featured here would just be called a single-family home or a two-story home.
American homes are so much better designed and you know it, this architect didn't do a good job at all. However what I appreciate about Indian homes is the raw material used to make them, concrete blocks or bricks, cement and cross chequered iron bars for reinforcement of ceilings before pouring concrete. Absolute top quality and earthquake proof. American homes are too lightweight and fragile.
@@NoName-bb2pu Yes, I agree. American homes are very fragile because they are mostly built from wood and other lightweight materials. Our homes are not durable at all. However, I still think this architect is extremely talented and she has done an amazing job with her home.
Beautiful house but I would be concerned for my safety as big houses are easy to intrude. Especially in a city like Mumbai where gap between rich and poor is too high.
This is in Deonar, away from the actual Mumbai, that's why you could compare it with a 4BHK in Bangalore. 1.4 Lakhs can get only a fully done 2-3 BHK in SoBo. As a person who lived in Bangalore and currently living in Mumbai for the last 5 years, Bangalore though costlier than other Indian Cities is still cheaper than Mumbai by at least 50%.
Deonar is not a prime area in Mumbai like Whitefield is in Bangalore. There are almost no bungalows left in the prime areas of mumbai because they have been replaced by apartment buildings ( unlike few, such as Mannat , Shahrukhs bungalow in Bandra )
Beautifully done home, definitely doesn’t give an outright Mumbai vibe! However, is it just me or was there a lot of outright status signaling happening in this video? Could I have lived without knowing their daughters play atleast one musical instrument or that they own 3 cars or that they have a membership to some high society golf club? Yes, I think so. 🤷🏽♀️
not really, rents in Mumbai are sky high, many just pay to have a decent life style. In Mumbai 1.4 lakhs is not much. Husband and wife work hard to give the family a decent lifestyle
Yes, when you live a life filled with dreams and when you see so much potential in a place, then you tend to make it a dream home. rented homes are also homes and home is where our heart is.
They are paying 1.3 lakh per month, which is 15.6 per year, and they have a contract of 5 years, so it will be 78 lakh for 5 years. And she said she put in 10-12 lakh into renovation. So think like this, instead of paying 78 lakh for 5 years they are paying 90 lakh for 5 years. It's not that much of an increase.
She is an Architect, so actually she is living a lifestyle that her own clients would love to live. So when they see her house they try to emulate that lifestyle and they also learn to recycle their own existing furniture.
Nothing great, All because of big city and posh location Same thing in tier 2 city is around 30-40k Plus much better facility This was so boring that I was not able to watch full video
Upper class Maharashtraian Zamindar Hindus living lavish lives in Mumbai from their generational accumulated wealth. No one in Mumbai lives like this. This series started focusing on all tenant budgets, but has now pivoted towards lavish tenant lifestyles!
80% percentage property tax on Hindus is need of hour. History shows that Muslim kings in India were exploited by majority Hindu population across India in last 900 years. There was nothing in this country before 900 years. Only grass eating Hindus.
Not at all....some families like to spend TV time together and spend quality time in the bedroom, without the intrusion of an Idiot Box. Its a matter of choice...not vaastu
When people have enough to spent, these are very small expenditures. Here in Mumbai, there's a class of people who can spent a fortune and they don't complain as long as they get that satisfaction. I am talking about Upper middle class segment...trust me Mumbai has such class
This grotty little place is American style??? WTF? Not even up to Chandigarh standards. Its Ok its Mumbai, you get a house, amazing. But for a well known news channel to call it American!!!

This is what we used to call normal house in rest of India. When we follow American culture, we are becoming less prosperous and more congested
As a bungalow owner i can totally relate to the charm of this place.
Such houses are the norm in tier 2 and smaller places but is truly refreshing to see one in Mumbai. Very nicely cosy vibes it has.

lovedd the small piano segment by Anaya!

loving for her mother-in-law.

A Delhi like home in Bombay. Great
Vishal asking so less. Many answers and presentation readymade as if she prepared for this show 😂
this is not a American style but the background music is definitely inspired by American culture.
Beautiful house but I would be concerned for my safety as big houses are easy to intrude. Especially in a city like Mumbai where gap between rich and poor is too high.
It's a locked society of bunglows.. very safe with security!
I think the plot is much bigger like 4000sqft. Only house or living area is 1000sqft. House is beautifully done
What a Conversation of a Simple Looking property to a Lovely family home

There you atleast get a bungalow for this, here in Bengaluru you only get a 4 BHK flat near your office for this (Whitefield)

this place is an abode... So charming
will the mosquitoes not trouble in evening??
that is exactly my concern. it may be 3-4 km from the dumpyard and BARC.
When you plant mosquito repellant plants like tulsi and lemon grass, and keep your surroundings clean mosquitoes are never a nuisance
dream home for sure
Beautiful bunglow thx
Very nice property.
Intro music and background score should be of the earlier videos...it suits more than that of current one
Duplex and not the bungalow
Love the style
This is in close vicinity of pollution heavens like BPCL refinery and RCF. As nice as it may look, really not sure if this is the right place to live
