Tja, vor 40 Jahren als 13 jähriger im Musikunterricht fand ich die Bilder bestenfalls langweilig. Heute bekomme ich eine Gänsehaut, wenn ich diese wundervolle Musik höre. Ich vermute, ich bin nicht der einzige, dem es so geht oder mal gehen wird...
Im Musikunterricht durften wir die bilder nie sehen und die Musik fand ich nicht besonders gut.
bei Nr IV (Bydlo) wenn alle da crescendo machen + der snare drum wirbel! ich habe dieses stück mit einem orchester gespielt und besonders dieser part klingt sooo imposant
Ich vor 4 Jahren und jetzt 18 Jahre alt. Für mich trotzdem eine Ewigkeit her xD. 4 Jahre sind wie mein halbes Leben gefühlt.
Ich konnte bis vor 2 Jahren mit solch Klassischer Musik tatsächlich auch nie etwas richtig anfangen. Jetzt begeistert es mich extrem. Die Dynamik und die komplexen Arrangements mancher Komponisten sind einfach der Wahnsinn.
Nö. Als ich vor 40 Jahren als 4 jähriger die Bilder das erste mal hörte, war ich gleich hin und weg. Meine Lieblinge waren der Gnomus, Bydlo, Das Ballett der Küken ihn ihren Eierschalen und natürlich die Hütte der Baba Yaga.

I like this music. The original version composed by Mussorgsky was the piano version (that's why so many different orchestra versions exist) The Ravel version is the best.

Gamora in "Guardian of the Galaxy Vol.3" singt die ersten Takte des Hauptthemas...auf der Toilette, wunderbar! Und ich hab das Stück gefunden... sehr schön!!! ❤❤❤ Hat lange genug gedauert, aber ist schwierig, wenn man nur zwei oder drei Takte hat und keine Ahnung welcher Komponist das sein könnte... Einfach ein grandioses Meisterwerk!!!

Just brilliant! How can you not have a standing ovation after this performance?! Mussorgsky is so rarely performed in Australia and I really don't know why. Adelaide Symphony Orchestra did my favourite interpretation many years ago that I feel very much brought so much emotion and storytelling to the piece, and this many equal or surpass, though in a different way for me.

11:44 is the kind of expression I want to see from a passiontate conductor. You have to look close, but Gergiev is one of the most passionate conductors I've ever seen. You also don't want to miss Stravinsky's "Firebird"!

This. THIS is how this is supposed to be interpreted. Especially in places like the Old Castle, his dynamic interpretation, and ESPECIALLY his subtle rubatos and use of tempo as an expressive machine, are genius. That's the kind of thing that sets an ok conductor apart from the greats. Bravo, Mr. Gergiev.

Beautiful! I think the Nutcracker Pas de Deux is one of the most romantic pieces in all of classical music.
It's an orchestration class. An Ravel's master piece of arrangement and orchestration. Pictures of an Exhibition for piano it's amazing, but this is supernatural!

cet orchestre donne la sensation de jouer tout seul...c'est comme une grande machine bien huilée, tu donnes l'envoie et ça roule ! très beau concert, tres belle musique...J'adore Tchaikovsky... ce chef ha une gestique impossible je trouve...mais bon eux ils s'y retrouvent ! 🙂
Mais c'est Mussorgsky (originalement uniquement pour le piano) et Ravel a adapté cette pièce pour l'orchestre ;)

I've listened to many interpretations of Pictures at an Exhibition, as arranged by Maurice Ravel; I consider this to be the best: Valery Gergiev gets such excitement, energy and dynamic contrast from the orchestra and, in response, the Münchner Philharmoniker plays the piece outstandingly well! Unfortunately, there's a slight 'slip' in synchronization at 30:04 which lasts till the end of the suite; try to overlook it and enjoy the wall of sound in the final piece, The Great Gate of Kyiv ('Kiev'). Thanks you for this high quality upload.

Les portes de Bogatyr sont jouées un peu vite, je trouve. Les gestes de Guerguiev sont parfois surprenant, parfois on se demande si l'orchestre le suit vraiment. L'orchestre est somptueux.
Also Herrn Gergievs Gesten sind ja manchmal etwas schwer zu verstehen, aber hier ist auch definitiv der Ton nicht ganz auf dem Bild ^^

Hallo Mira, es gibt verschiedene Orchesterfassungen (Mussorgski hat das Stück ursprünglich für Klavier komponiert). Am bekanntesten ist die Orchesterfassung von Maurice Ravel (ist auch die im Video).
