      Yes, in my experience, the roots usually appear in about a week when I water propagate.

    Love your chill vibe. I don't know why I seem to be so bad at taking care of scindapsus; I'm always getting yellow leaves. 😪 But I love it so much!! Have you seen the scindapsus jade? Lovely.

    Hi! When you let the scindapsus sit with the pothos propagations and root, I was wondering where you kept them/how much light they were getting. Thank you so much!

      @AHAVA7YAH  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      H! 🙋🏾‍♀️ I had them in the kitchen on the counter.. I kept the kitchen lights on all day and they were fluorescent lights. Sitting them under grow lights work fine also.I hope this helps.. thanks for stopping by! 🤗

    I'm propagating my Exotica to make it more full but where it was vining the leaf is now upside down in the propagation station. Will it still grow? I'm only asking because it was the biggest most beautiful leaf🥺 lol

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it will still grow.. and it will most likely adjust itself and face the right way with time. Good luck!

    Can you cut a whole vine and propagate as is or do I have to cut it in small pieces with one flower/one node ?

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Yes, you can cut a whole vine and propagate that.. it's just that the other way makes more of the plant. Hope that helps 🤗🙏🏾

  • @arlisaburkes82

    I just put some cuttings in water a few days ago & the leaves are curling & turning yellow, is that normal with propagation?

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, not normal.. it means the leaves are dying. Make sure there's enough water and that all the stems are submerged. Make sure you're also changing the water weekly at the least. Let me know how it goes and thanks for stopping by.

  • @98__sr
    @98__sr ปีที่แล้ว +1

    After potting the cuttings in soil do you water as you regularly would? I just received 3 massive exotica cuttings in the mail and I’m nervous I’ll kill them 🥲

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh that's exciting! Are you going to grow the roots in water first? If there are no roots, don't let the soil dry out past the nodes of the cuttings. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. After a few weeks, cut back and water when top inch of soil is dry. I hope it goes well. 💚

    • @98__sr
      @98__sr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AHAVA7YAH Yes I received them with about 3" of healthy roots! Thank you 😄

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh OK great! Because it already has roots, shorten the period of time you keep the soil moist to about a week then ween it off that consistently moist soil to watering it when the top inch of the soil is dry.

    Can u tell me dear, whar r the ingredients in potting mix?

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว

      Expert Gardener potting soil which contains peat moss and perlite. I added a small amount of Orchid potting medium which includes bark and some sand. Then I added more perlite. All these were added Ata ratio of shot 3:1:1

    I can’t achieve propagation with this plant, Mine always goes soggy 😞

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear. Maybe you can try to first allow the cut to dry for a few hours to a day to allow it to callous over before putting it in water. How often are you changing the water? You should also add a cutting of pothos to help speed up the process (if you haven't tried this before). I hope this helps and feel free to share if it does. Thanks for stopping by 💚

      @@AHAVA7YAH I'm currently on my first propagation attempt with the exotica, and I'm encountering the same issue. I'll let it dry out for a bit and put it back in water, then report back with the results. Luckily I'm also propagating a pothos at the same time that's already grown some promising roots, so I can put one of those cuttings in as well

    • @AHAVA7YAH

      @@AHAVA7YAH Little update on this: since last we spoke, I removed the rotting roots from the scindapsus exotica and placed the cuttings in water with pothos cuttings. They're growing very healthy roots! More slow growing than the pothos cuttings, but still growing strong. I'll be potting them soon. Thank you for helping me save my exotica. 💛

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is awesome!🤗 I'm so happy to hear it helped but yes, they grow slower than the pothos. Mine is growing well also and I'm glad I propagated it. I'll wait for the vines to grow a little longer then propagate some more. Thanks so much for the update! Happy growing! 💚

    Your exotica is not getting enough light,the leaves should be more silver than green like yours.

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว

      As in it's losing it's variagation? OK, noted. I'll try my best to get it more light. Thanks for the advice! 🙏🏾
