    using them as you speak, walls come in 2 weeks for foundation/ basement! also keep in mind if you like high ceilings its less than a $1000 per foot height. i started with 8' for my basement an quickly went to 10' when i found that out. wanna say it was $830 per one foot higher wall

    • @TodayIWorkOn
      @TodayIWorkOn  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We wanted 10’ ceilings but the problem for my house was distance and weight. The crane was able to do so far and the 10’ walls would have been an even bigger issue. I’m very happy at 9’. I have 10-18’ ceilings in the 1st floor which is making me busy going up and down ladders, lol. Good luck with the install. If your prep is good, you should be good!

    Great detail. I am talking with SW in western NC. I’m getting quoted $170 LF for a 10’ xi wall totaling 176 LF. I’m scratching my head on how there could be such a price difference from your 9’xi to my 10’xi? How recent is your quote?

    I just started to see your videos as a contractor You do a good job ,But when did you make the ground floor slab, because I noticed that you completed the wooden first floor before pouring the concrete slab

    • @TodayIWorkOn
      @TodayIWorkOn  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Correct. I was going to pour the basement slab first but I had a 3 week wait for the lolly columns and decided to build the deck while waiting for the columns. Once I had the columns I was able to pour the basement floor. I’ll be going all over this in my build videos.

    Thanks for sharing. My question is why didn't you continue building the rest of the house with it? For strength and greater insulation I would just do the whole house in concrete. But great content. Thanks for sharing.

    • @TodayIWorkOn

      The cost to build a 10,000 sqft house would be something I couldn’t afford in concrete. I’m taking donations though! 😝

    So what's the rough per linear foot difference ? How much more does it cost then poured wall?

    • @TodayIWorkOn
      @TodayIWorkOn  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It depends where you are in the country as prices vary greatly. You can do poured, block, ICF, or Superior walls. There’s so much to the question because on a poured wall you have to insulate. On a poured wall you have to stud out the interior walls. Etc. You can call your local poured wall company and ask them for a rough quote and go from there. The prep is also way different doing a superior wall compared to a poured wall. You have to lay footings and your drainage is very different. It’s a loaded question that I can answer. lol.

      @@TodayIWorkOn Thanks but that's not really why I'm asking. I'm not building from scratch. I'm looking at a home that already has the XI Plus in and I'm not sure if that's why they have a much higher price tag on the house. I'm just curious where it generally lies. 10% more? 20% assuming you might not finish the basement but use it as a workshop. So it will be inhabited but not lived in if that makes any sense. I'm just trying to get a rough idea how much more it cost. I'm not saying I would never finish it and I like the idea that it's ready to go but just trying to get a comparison To figure out how much more the house is being sold for because of it. It's a modular house in PA. The house seems to be asking $30,000 more than the comps in the area.

    Is it possible to get the 3" waste stacks into the superior wall cavity or do you have to fir out a box to go around the pipe to get it into the floor joists above?

    • @TodayIWorkOn

      Nope. It would have to be boxed out. It’s the foundation wall.

    Thats crazy high if youre going to build your own house.
    Look up Thermomass and then rent commercial concrete forms. Theyre easy to use.
    You are wrong about the price, saying you know its more for a poured wall even though you didnt price it.
    These are like all prefab and its sold as low labor and quick set.

    • @TodayIWorkOn
      @TodayIWorkOn  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What’s exactly “crazy high”? Concrete has skyrocketed in price since covid. After being in the trade for a long time, I’ve always liked the idea of superior walls because it’s a great system. A 6100 sqft foundation is big money in block or forms. My friend that built a 12,000 sqft house with a 4500 sqft basement with a pour spent over 120k on the pour. Talking to my local concrete guy that does block foundation told me there was no way he would be able to touch the cost of the superior walls and the time it would have took to lay the block would have taken quite a while. I had no desire to rent commercial forms and set up a 28 corner concrete wall system. That would set me up for failure. 😂. Low labor and quick set is a great option. Time is money. R21 insulation is awesome. Level from 140’ from one side to the other is awesome. Etc. You should look a little deeper into this system than just writing it off.

    • @sparksmcgee6641
      @sparksmcgee6641 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TodayIWorkOn Go look at the product I mentioned and price out that way. I'm guessing the savings is about half the cost. Guessing that amount can guarantee labor shows up.
