Green fields near Magurele, Ilfov

Măgurele is a town in Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, consisting of the component localities of Alunișu, Dumitrana, Măgurele (residence), Pruni and Vârteju. The town is located in the south-western vicinity of the city of Bucharest, being a satellite city of the Capital. According to the 2011 census, Măgurele has a population of 11,041 inhabitants, being the eighth and smallest urban center of Ilfov county from a demographic point of view. The locality was raised from the rank of commune to that of city in 2005, by Law no. 414 of December 29, 2005.
