Happy new year. 2025 is headed off to a great start for me in sales. Amd yup my goals are finding faster selling items with higher return on investment. Keep up the good work.
Can you share what you are going to say on the cards that reach out to your community for inventory when you get the cards done? Because of you I am starting my own children's book business this year. I have gotten around 350 childrens books and maybe 50 cookbooks by donation. I am now looking into getting my LLC set up soon. what are first steps besides LLC to set this up as a legit business and handling taxes properly? Was there someone you followed or learned from when you first began this journey. How many years do you feel you should have your business running before you create a TH-cam channel or thrift video? Can you tell I am excited with my zillion questions lol.
First, yayy, I'm so excited tou decided to start a business! That is amazing! Setting up an LLC is good to do bc it's easy and makes your business a little more "legit" and after that be sure to register your business with your state if they require that. In VA it's like $35-$50 a year and I pay annually. As far as taxes go I reccomend putting about 15-25% of your profits into a savings account for tax time and that should be more than enough. Just know taxes are one of the worst parts of working for yourself bc you are taxed way higher than any other business/employee so be prepared. I loved the book Profit First by Mike Michalowicz it is the system I use and it works well when getting started. I haven't decided exactly what they will say because I'm still deciding if I want to do one all-encompassing card or two separate cards for the two different messages that I want to spread. But I will definitely show them to you guys or share with you once I either get them ordered or get them in person! As far as creating TH-cam videos that's up to you and your own personal passions and time you need a lot of equipment and energy two consistently create videos so it's definitely a large undertaking if you do it right from the beginning then you can incorporate it into your business and your systems but if you want to build your business first then you will have to find time for it later. Best of luck!!!!
It is always such a great feeling, it the getting started that's hard 🤣 Sometimes I just tell myself set a timer for 10 minutes and almost always, I keep cleaning for longer. You got it!!
Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I came into some books and want to sell them on whatnot. Which shipping profile is best for books? Priority or Flat Rate? Thanks :)
Hey, that's awesome! So I would recommend selling with media mail shipping. It will not be a shipping option for you to select when you're setting up your listings, but as long as your books are listed as media (book, cd, dvd, etc) and being sold in the book category it will automatically default to Media Mail which is usually the cheapest. Some people use flat rate but I sell in bulk so that doesn't tend to be an option for me
Happy New Year! I love all of the goals you have set for yourself and the fact that you make them seem so attainable, almost inevitable. I have no doubt that you will meet and surpass them all. I have now officially started my list for 2025, thanks for the inspiration 🫶
I love to see the positivity!
