You’ve mentioned before you’re naturally organized and watching you put the books in your cart in a system is proof. While I wouldn’t say I enjoy grocery shopping I do love organizing my cart as I get what’s on the list. 😂
🤣 I do the same thing with my groceries! Thanks so much for noticing the small details. Staying organized is so important. Small hauls are manageable but when you get to a cart full of books, you have to be efficient with your space for sure 😊
It's cool you have so many source options and have a process for each. Thanks for giving us a glimpse at what all's involved. I tried including a few items I don't normally sell on Ebay to broaden my horizons, but they haven't gotten a single view. Things that make you go hmmm. Keep up the good work!
I totally understand trying out new things and expanding your horizons. I've done that and bought stuff that would sit on Ebay with no views until I either lowered the price so much it wasn't worth it or I would just remove the item and redonate it. It's a learning curve overall and it's a big reason why I'm niched down to books and plush mostly. Thanks so much for watching!
Do you ever see the same plush auctioned again? Since the bin was pretty full, I wonder if they just top it off and reauction. Love watching you source. It's like shopping without leaving my house 😊
They do load stuff on top of gaylords that don't sell or even gaylords that have been picked through once already. Sometimes you can tell the ones that have just been loaded up again or you can recognize the items but I go every 2 weeks so I don't tend to run into that problem personally. So glad you enjoy these sourcing videos, I really like making them and sharing the hunt!
I can see being able to expand beyond books has really helped out your business. If books are not doing well you still have many other options. It was fun seeing you get inside a gaylord lol.
Lol you just have to get inside to be able to get everything sometimes. Having knowledge in other niches is vital for the just in case scenarios, thanks for watching!!
Its always disappointing when a good source dries up or becomes overpriced but again with the being able to pivot or research other sources you can hopefully not miss those places.
It was super disappointing but it's been a good month or 2 that this has slowly happened so bright side, it wasn't a complete shock. Luckily I have other niches in times like this and I have a new sourcing hack going live from the Outlet and that's been great!
Do you find you sell a particular age category of childrens books more than another. I noticed most of the books you picked up seemed like they cater to younger children. I was just wondering if you sell as many of the type of books for kids 11- 12 and stuff like that or younger kids books are profitable. Just really looking into doing this business here in Arizona and wanted to niche down the type of books that you find are more profitable. I love that the turn around on what not of your payout rather than waiting for things to sell and having to store them. I think I will be only on what not.
Great question! So I do find that younger children's books sell better/more. The baby to toddler aged books do well and then up to about 5 or 6 years old picture style books. As far as chapter books the beginner style chapter books for new readers do great, but I tend to do very minimal chapter books from ages 8-15. Then from there the young adult books do great but that is foe older teen and up. If I were you, getting familiar with those and seeing what's available in your area first is the best step. You may or may not have enough of those types of books or maybe they are not in great condition and you will want to ensure that you will have access to enough to do bundles. Younger picture books of good stories and in good condition, and maybe some beginner chapter books and young adult are great
Thanks and I agree! I made a video about which books sell well for me but it didn't perform well. I will add it to my list of ideas and I will revamp the content to explore more of the why's behind what I pick and pass on!
@resellmaven i think sourcing videos are great. Really shows people the good and bad they will encounter. Especially new seller or sellers like myself switching platforms. Helps to know what successful sellers in a platform look for when sourcing goods.
I love the sourcing videos and yes, there is a flip side to reselling and consistent sourcing is hard. The video I just released yesterday breaks down a little more the books that sold recently and highlights some to show you what I'm selling
I try to get my books for under $1. Is it worth it to buy kids books for $1? My goodwill prices the soft backs at $1 and sometimes I feel that’s too much- considering I price most my children’s books at $2. Should I raise my prices?
Hey, I do find that $1 for most kids books is a little too high for a good profit. I sell most kids books for $1-$3 on average. If you're able to make your sales price closer to $3-$5 on average then that may work perfectly for you

From the jump the vibes on this video has me captivated. I’ll probably comment again I just had to comment right away
Haha, still waiting for that second comment

After watching I can confirm the vibes hold up!
Thank you! 😅
That's a long day of sourcing, thanks for the content.
It is definitely a long day but I do love being back in my hometown for the afternoon

I say this every time but it's amazing to me how empty your GW bins are re:people. Montreal is absolute madness!
Haha! I can't wait to come see for myself one day!
Love the video!!
Thank you so much!!

I live in Iowa, and here, DAV is the BEST thrift store to buy books. They only charge .25 each
That is incredible!! I'm not jealous at all lol

Good video. You should do another where you explain more. Talk a bit more about why and why you don't pick a book. Otherwise great video.
