Only Jesus can really fill that 'hole'. Everything else is temporary and superficial. I've been single for 10 years and God has kept me.

@@damarlswanjlru6935 no. To be clear I didn't intentionally choose it to be 10 years but that's what's happened. I'm 31, I believe by virtue of being single and celibate these last 10 years, I've avoided a lot of recklessness that comes with the age between 20-30 as you discover who you are. Haven't had to take contraception, worry about pregnancy and STIs, no baby daddy drama and not to mention soul ties. I'd say in many ways,I have been spared a lot. I'm a Christian so that informed my decision. My initial decision was to keep myself until marriage and it still is. Of course I see others get married and have kids and want that too but I want it the right way, the God way. So I'm enjoying my singlehood working on myself(that's something else I noticed was lacking in my previous relationship. I experienced trauma as a child and kept putting that burden on my partner. I'm still healing but in a much better place than I was before.) I've made peace with my decision and if I don't get married, although I do desire a Godly union, there's so many children that deserve love and I will adopt. However, even within that I will maintain my celibacy journey because I obey God and it has never failed me. As a Christian I've come to learn that anytime you obey God, you gain more than you lose and that's how I intend to live.

Learing that you are enough by yourself is not just for single people. I feel like even in a relationship you need to find peace at being yourself first and never loose that.

❤Feeling enough feels like a tree that produces apples and other people benefit by plucking the apples and eating them. If you were a tree, what are you producing? If nothing, check your soil, climate etc, not another tree. Hope that makes sense to whoever needs it.
On cheating...it's just a concept, if you buy a tap for your kitchen and it gets spoilt, replace it, if you don't you'll get dehydrated. So some men and women cheat to fill their cup, they don't want to fix their tap...on that note, you can't fill someone fully, they have to fill themselves first. That's what being enough is to my level of understwnsing. Unlearning alot of those things we learnt is the work.

I 100% related to this particular conversation
The base of one allowing themselves get to the point of choosing aloneness/loneliness is never to get ourselves into something that will cost our peace of mind..and generally put our authenticity to jerpody
We dont need to be fully healed to be in our next relationship, is such a game changer!

So amazingly to hear that authentic second point. I grew up without the extreme edification of marriage. I recently discovered that the whole concept of how marriage is like the" it" for a woman... Was learned in church/religion. Spiritual women really get it good on this one.
