Some of these top players need to know that an innocent player being accused of cheating is worse than a cheater not getting banned. Publicly accusing anyone serves no purpose other than starting a witch hunt against the said player. And it takes nothing to accuse someone, just defeat a top player once and you're apparently cheating if you're not rated above 2700. And all it takes is one accusation for everyone to see all your subsequent results with doubt.

Yes, and as far as I can recall they never properly apologized, and instead in retrospective said he was banned for multi-accounting or something like that.
False accusations used to make me angry when I was a child, nowadays false accusations give me satisfaction because I know that my enemies are envious.
I think we've learned Kramnik isn't as good as he thinks he his, and this new generation of players we will see accuracy higher than even Magnus based on advances in engine technology for training purposes.
Absolute great video! Crazy good quality and topic. Was about time to drop a video like this. I'm happy that jospem could perform under these circumstances and show hes not a cheater
Hikaru says you aren't a cheater and that's good enough for me. It was nice to see your reaction to placing top-three. I've seen Hikaru's reaction many times but it's nice to see the reaction of other players too.
Hikaru saying so is what convinces you? Not him playing well in front of a camera crew? Hikaru fans are so weird with the way they treat his word like law. Hikaru has wrongly accused Tang, Erigaisi, and Supi, so I'm not sure how much his opinion on who's cheating is worth. Definitely not worth more than playing in front of a camera crew where it's impossible to cheat.
@@DJFracus I started watching him play many years ago and he'd run into Jospem on a regular basis and Hikaru always defended him. I've only ever seen Hikaru defend Tang when he was criticised on his stream. He's played Tang for a long time too. I don't know who the other two are.

@@charles2521 LOL! That is so true. I find it fascinating that virtually every accusation made against other countries by the US, it turns out the US was the country that was actually doing it (e.g., running surveillance programs against the entire world, hacking the private communications of world leaders, stealing research data from other countries, etc.)
He played a tournament with people in the room watching him and filming him. With all that pressure, he came second. Then, he played a match with Danya - one of the strongest players in speed chess - and he only barely lost 4.5-5.5. It shows he is genuine and can compete with the best. It may be strange that he is much stronger in online chess than over the board. Maybe it is psychology. Maybe it's just that he doesn't get to play many OTB tournaments so that could be an uncomfortable experience. Most major OTB tournaments are still held in Europe and sometimes Asia. For someone from Mexico without the support system of countries with much stronger chess cultures, the expense of travelling would be a problem. The ability to fly all over the world just to play chess is still a luxury that many strong players from India and Eastern Europe don't get to enjoy. The Internet really is the big equaliser.
If not camera and whole crew watching his game, he would probably even win that TT. Also he could play a lot worse because of that pressure to him. But he showed he is not only a fair strong chess player, but also a very strong minded man. My apology to him for thinking that he was a cheater.
The only good that has ever come out of any of Kramnik's accusations is that we got this very well done documentary on Jose Martinez Alcantara. Very strong and personable player who never would have come on my radar otherwise since I am not fluent in Spanish. But chess transcends language. It is a perfect game in the eyes of many. Does cheating happen? Of course, there are cheaters in every popular game. But Kramnik really needs to hold his tongue. His constant string of accusations, both explicit and implicit, do more harm than good, especially when he's so blatantly wrong and has been caught cheating himself in the past. Kramnik is a strong player but his constant string of baseless accusations make him an embarrassment to the game, imho.
In official FIDE blitz rating standings Kramnik is 46th and Jose is 24th, and that's OTB. Online, Jose plays much more often, while Kramnik clicks twice to move a piece. And Kramnik still believes he loses only because Jose cheats 🤷♂
Gracias por el reportaje, se necesitaba. Y de muy excelente calidad! (Thank you for the video, it was very Instructive. And the Quality is astonishing!)
Excellent short documentary, maybe more content like this? Always a pleasure seeing the day to day life with the game of chess from different people around the world.
I love how you made the focus on the person and not the game. You know we know where to find the games. What a story worth telling and you did an extraordinary job telling it. Good job guys, Alex and the whole team. Feeling extremely emotional... l just watched an epic underdog story.
To step up with all the pressure and deliver the goods is impressive af. It’s like being accused of a crime and YOU have to prove your innocence. Well, he did that. I’m a fan.
I'm only a 1200'ish player(10 min games) and I only play online but when I play some games, analysis some times shows my level a lot higher (1600-2000) (not time control) i'm just inconsistant. People arn't machines their performances vary, and that of the opponent they are playing as well. I follow Hikaru, Eric Rosen, Agadmator, Remote chess academy. I never think of people cheating. If Man City get beat by a team near the bottom of the league (it happens) do we think cheating. If your a GM your capable of beating any other GM (on your day).
I definitely think that is the problem. There should be no difference. And I mean kramnik also has accused danya before, but he probably didn't want as much backlash because danya is a popular streamer, commentator, and TH-cam creator and is known and respected by many top players. But then again jospem is also generally well respected so kramnik I just think he is out of line
You might be right. He is probably very close to cross over the wall that separates the "excellent players" from the" absurdly excellent players" that always get invited to the elite events.
I'm with jospem in this one. What he excels in just happens to be plagued (no doubt for good reasons) by lack of trust at present. These are the conditions of existence, and jospem is accepting them as best he can. Good on him, through any and all wins and losses. Pura vida.
PS: learn to play backgammon. You will be convinced cheating is going on (we all are). The invariable culprit in this case: the dice. Really, do it; it's a damn good lesson in human perception.
PPS: You don't have to beat Kramnik to prove anything, nor will losing prove anything. (But we're all human: beating him would sure be sweet, and make a much better story.... No pressure at all.... ;-)
Really great video, highly produced, great shots of people. I'd love to see more videos like this with other players, maybe not always being the product from accusations tho.

Yes, and as far as I can recall they never properly apologized, and instead in retrospective said he was banned for multi-accounting or something like that.
Aged like wine
Let's start the procedure.
He proved them
This is going to be an interesting video….
Everything is interesting
Absolute great video! Crazy good quality and topic. Was about time to drop a video like this. I'm happy that jospem could perform under these circumstances and show hes not a cheater
“Where’s MY documentary? “
- Hans Niemann
That one cheated, because he failed to properly analyze his games during post game interviews
@@mattm6624 What is the required criteria for “properly”?
@@teegees He didn't give any reasons to why he played certain moves.
Watch Hikaru's reaction to Hans postgame interview & see for yourself
@@mattm6624 Ah yes, the famous “chess speaks for itself line”
Jajaja never!!!
@@DJFracusNo kidding. I wouldn't believe anything out of Hikaru or Magnus related to cheating. They say shit first and figure out if it makes sense later.
Hikaru is a very bad person, luckily he didnt achieve anything in his chess career and everything he will be known for in chess as for streaming for stupid children
So this is the guy Hikaru farms every week
More documentaries like this please! Fantastic quality and a great story.
CRACK JOSPEM! PALIZA LE DISTE AL SENIL DE CRYMNIK.
If there is no Kramnik in this video I'm unsubbing
No one cares

@@l3fthandmann372 for your own sake... plz dont be like that. I assume you dont know very much about chess players - which is completely fine - because the many likes show, that many people asked themselves the question what kramnik will say about this. Kramnik is a notoriously bad loser.
@@peterpupe8352first off I don't care about your assumptions. 2nd...this not about kramnik. It's about Jospem and how he handled the situation and being able to move on from there. That's being said I don't agree with him having a match with kramnik that's supposed to happen soon. It's not gonna resolve anything.
There was a poster of him on the wall at All In Chess! Which is ironic
Where is Kramnik and his team of statistics experts?
The "I cannot win so the other side must be cheating" virus has disseminated everywhere- From politics to chess.
Americanization of the world, those who cheat are the same ones who make false accusations.
Welcome to dystopia.
@@charles2521 LOL! That is so true. I find it fascinating that virtually every accusation made against other countries by the US, it turns out the US was the country that was actually doing it (e.g., running surveillance programs against the entire world, hacking the private communications of world leaders, stealing research data from other countries, etc.)
incredible what a genuine player. He is humble and patient as well. I wouldn't say the same about a certain former WC tho
Okay this changed my view on jospem. I think he's a nice guy actually. Maybe he's not cheating after all, just enjoying chess. Great video.
Nice video. Kramnik and others should publicly apologize.
he is probably good with his mouse skills and lightning mental calculations
"I can play with 80 x-rays". Can Hans say this?
Jose Martinez Alcantara no necesita modulo, el modulo lo necesita a él.
Kramnik should get sued for libel
16:23 just for kramnik lol
Jose Martínez is a machine, what a player 💯 🇲🇽🇵🇪
If not camera and whole crew watching his game, he would probably even win that TT. Also he could play a lot worse because of that pressure to him. But he showed he is not only a fair strong chess player, but also a very strong minded man. My apology to him for thinking that he was a cheater.
Where is Kramnik’s apology?
Yeah, Jospem could just be the exception: a middle of the pack grandmaster who is exceptionally good at speed chess. Andrew Tang is a similar case.
Jospem VS Lie Machine !
@@vaibhavsharma2700 lol, that sounds funny but may I know the context behind it?
Those aren’t real
Excelente video. Graias! Felicitaciones a Jospen (José Martínez). Saludos de Colombia!!
El mundo del ajedrez le debe una disculpa
When a grandmaster accusing you are cheating, that really mean you are THAT good!!
Much respect to this great person and fantastic chess player!
Titled Tuesday is like past time stuff
No GM pay any attention just play at the top of the head
what about the Nepo accusations against one member of your team ? on twitter yesterday

To step up with all the pressure and deliver the goods is impressive af.
It’s like being accused of a crime and YOU have to prove your innocence. Well, he did that.
I’m a fan.
I would like to see a video where Kramnik opens up the ruski school of mouse skills.
16:24 for Kramnik.
Jospem is my new hero!
Danya is world number 136, and Jospem 152 of FIDE active players. Both are top in online blitz. Why does one enjoy greater credibility than the other?
I definitely think that is the problem. There should be no difference. And I mean kramnik also has accused danya before, but he probably didn't want as much backlash because danya is a popular streamer, commentator, and TH-cam creator and is known and respected by many top players. But then again jospem is also generally well respected so kramnik I just think he is out of line
I guess that he's tapping into the next level inconsistently. So it may seem odd. Once he's there consistently it won't seem so.
You might be right. He is probably very close to cross over the wall that separates the "excellent players" from the" absurdly excellent players" that always get invited to the elite events.
Que grande Jospem, ahora a destrozar al Ex campeón mundial en el match
Chess GMs can somehow constantly call some random players cheating. That's very unprofessional behaviour.
The same test for Jeffery Xiong would be interesting.
No pressure at all.... ;-)
Josepem is that ‘mysterious’ GM you can tell 100%
4:52 A wild Kramnik has appeared!
Love Jospem’s attitude. He should pick up a load of new fans from this! ¡Vamos José!
I knew this guy was legit when he did the Hikaru head bob at 13:56
VAMOS JOSPEM!!!!!!!!! ESTA LOKAZO EL VIEJO ERES UN CRACK!
little did we know..danya was also about to experience the procedure
Really great video, highly produced, great shots of people. I'd love to see more videos like this with other players, maybe not always being the product from accusations tho.
what a chad the tweet with the picture of him playing while reading the Kramnik book LMAO
Jospem has been consistently good for so long, I would never have thought he’d be one accused of cheating
21:25 - gorgeous tournament set
Unfounded cheating accusations just because you lost a game is a bad example for youth. And I hate kids.
With a hanging participle, I am ashamed of you.
Honestly, this is just going to boost Jose's career even more. On the other end of the scale is Kramnik falling further than before.
El único peruano que me cae bien. Saludos desde Lima, Perú.
Wut?
The cheater always think everybody is doing the same way, am i wrong to think about Kramnik's Toilet Gate?
Nice documentary, a slap on Kramnik's face. I wish they could do this on Hans Niemann too and other Grandmasters
Kramnik became a shadow of himself. Amazing chess, poor history...
Apoyo desde Madrid para nuestro hermano Hispano, Kramnik está mayor y delirante.
They (Jospem and Kramnik) should play a match online with control like the one he played against Dani.... It is not the same on the board...
The match against Kramnik on the board is ok, but it does proves nothing... Online and on the board are very diferent games... With short time, premove and mouse moving hability makes all difference...
Eres el mejor Alcántara, espero con ansias el match con Kramink espero que lo hagas polvo gracias por jugar por México me encanta que siempre te mantienes humilde a pesar de lo grande que eres. Muchaas felicidades y éxitos para ti.
