    Piezoelectric materials generate electricity when they are mechanically deformed. In this video we show how this can be used to make a simple circuit that stores the energy in a capacitor and lights a LED.
    Capacitor is 20 uF @ 25 volts and resistor is 2.2 k.

    • @mickaellebihan5853
      @mickaellebihan5853 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In fact, making a stack will just divide the amount of energy you give by pressing on it... with some energy loss due to heat caused by the pression. Plus you'll need to press harder because of the added thickness...

I used your pressure technique to connect a multimeter to the piezo (which is stuck to the back of the watch) but didn't get any volts.

    Hi, I am a sound engineering student at Argentina. Lately I've been working on hydrophone designs for cetaceans sounds. I used 160kHz piezoelectric crystals and achieved an acceptable result for Narrow Band Ultrasonic Frequency clicks emitted by dolphines. However, I had a poor response in audible frequencies. If I want to use a hydrophone for audible frequencies, should I use crystals with a resonant frequency bellow, within or above the range of interest??? Why???

    • @NinoJoel
      @NinoJoel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The output voltage is depends on how big the module is and how much pressure is applied.
      As for the constant energy output I would recommend a capacitor and a step up voltage board.
