Worked great! Could not get a clear image no matter how strong the signal sounded, but after watching this I was able to successfully decode NOAA-15, great tutorial!
Thank you for your good work. But I have a question: why is not working Wxtoimg under w10pro? I did the compatibility in the properties and restart without recognizing old drivers. It was o.k. under w8 but not now. Can you help me please? I was using my radio vhf +Wxtoimg and soundcard. Thanks again. Regards from Spain.
I am using a v dipole I made out of rabbit ears like shown here: www.rtl-sdr.com/simple-noaameteor-weather-satellite-antenna-137-mhz-v-dipole/ It is up about 20ft I also use an RTL-SDR Wideband LNA right at the antenna which made a big difference in image quality. The images you see in the video is with the sats making a pass directly over my location.
Yes, you can connect your radio transceiver to the PC sound card and decode. For antenna I made a V-Dipole like this: lna4all.blogspot.com/2017/02/diy-137-mhz-wx-sat-v-dipole-antenna.html
Now that I have my keps updated, I did everything exactly as you described including the cable output, etc, and it seems to work, the pass starts recording right on time, but the screen, as it records, is totally black. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
@@BrokenSignal Thanks. Ok, I'm recording NOAA-19 right now. Same black screen. I checked the VB-Virtual Audio cable in Device Mgr and it's working correctly. In SDR# I have the output correctly set to that VB-Virtual Audio Cable and the Input on WXtoIMG is also set to that. So I just don't know why the screen keeps recording black!
@@BrokenSignal Ok, I'll try that next pass! Thanks. But just in case it still records a black screen, what other software is available to decode these?
Thank you for the tutorial , i follow all the steps but can anyone suggest why i just got black images with only borderline in wxtoimg? i am very thankful :) is there any solution?
similar results here, I got a nice large scale map from Jamaica up to Canada maybe even Greenland. and it was about half of the USA stopping somewhere in the Midwest. but it was weird, I couldn't really tell if there were clouds , the images I got definitely weren't like what he got lol I had nice strong signal too. it was my first night and I got 3 passes 👍 each one was a little better. I'll be at it again tonight.
Absolutely brilliant. So clear. Thank you. I was stuck before I saw your video
Awesome! Always nice to hear I have helped someone. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, glad it worked for you!
great work
Great video! Very helpful
Glad you found it helpful
also pl suggest the ideal settings for optimum img processing- what to use etc.. thanks again
Thanks for doing this little tutorial. I'm just getting started in SDR for weather and it was helpful, though I'm using CubicSDR on a Mac.
Thank you, I'm glad the video helped!
The celestrack Keplers update do not work for me. How can I change the WXtoImg software to point to another source for new keplerian elements? Thanks.
WxtoImg is getting pretty old. There is a few work arounds to fix this issue. You can find them here:

@@BrokenSignal Thanks! I'll check it out!!
what antenna are you using? without a good antenna i found that the signal is lousy.
Unprocessed data shown problem is shown in wxtoimg while receiving the image then what is the solution for this

Hello! I am getting stuck on "Sample rate". I instead see "Sample Bits". Any fix for this?
How high is your antenna and what antenna are you using my images are never this clear.

Just started decoding Noaa, but my picture is slanting, de Signal is ok about 35db SNR.
Check out the FAQ here: wxtoimgrestored.xyz/faq/
Scroll down to the section on image slant
Will WXtoIMG work with a regular radio transceiver that can cover 137 MHZ or does it need to be sdr? Second, what antenna did you use?
Yes, you can connect your radio transceiver to the PC sound card and decode. For antenna I made a V-Dipole like this: lna4all.blogspot.com/2017/02/diy-137-mhz-wx-sat-v-dipole-antenna.html
How do you get the color and cloud
Check under Record -> Image settings
@@BrokenSignal thank you
Great work 👏
Great video, Bro what is a antenna setup of RTL sdr ?
For this video I was using a V Dipole
Thanks for this video! working here perfectly. 73 from PU9CAT
Awesome, great to hear.

It sounds to be an audio issue. I would double check vb audio and that your sdr is using the right audio out.

@@BrokenSignal I have SDR# set to 137.100 in NFM mode. I"m using tracking antennas and the signal on the waterfall is very sharp and excellent.
@@CE4JDM Change SDR# to WFM and increase your bandwidth. You'll notice in the video I use a very WIDE bandwith.
@@BrokenSignal Ok, I'll try that next pass! Thanks. But just in case it still records a black screen, what other software is available to decode these?
Is there a way the images WxToimg could be sent to a STMP mail server?
Not that I know of. You could look for a script that could check a folder and send them via SMTP
Great job 👍
🎉 good work
Very good
Good effort
heelp . it says error firewall when updating kepler
Try this: th-cam.com/video/UpWH1KyTICE/w-d-xo.html
@@BrokenSignal thnks i just solved it by updating it through powershell have a great day
Where do I set the bandwidth in SDR radio?
You want to set the bandwidth to encompass the entire signal, I set mine at 45,200
Nice 👍
Thanks!
Amazing 😍

What's up with this "Restored" site? Is this legit? That's a shame. Seemed really cool.
My understanding is they are doing it with the blessing of the original author, he just wanted to move on. At least we still have it to use.
No its not that easy as this vid shows..1
Why isn't it, is there a part you have trouble with?
Great work
