Know this might be a dumb question, but if I used this antenna, I wouldn’t need the magnet mount if I used this off a balcony? Would I need a counterpoise? I am on the 3rd floor and get pretty good reception but what I have now is just a receive antenna. Thanks.
t1000e have a serious bug not receving messages 1 hop away - also when its turned on there is packet loss from nodes arounds .. too bad ..
Proof?
@@goosenp it was firmware error . its great device
I wish I would have seen this one sooner. I like that it has backlit buttons. I have three nice portable multi-band receivers and none of them can be easily used in the dark. Oh, and today there’s a coupon and Amazon has it for $60.
I made one a few months back using cat 5 cable cut to 33ft thrown up in a tree using a water for a weight (with water). I had a nano VNA for tuning it. I ended up cutting abt 2 ft off of it to get it at 1.2 in the 20m band at 1.4 on the edges. The 10m band was flat 28 to 29.7 at 1.1 swr. I tried using it at other locations and it would nut tune as well as it did at home up through the tree. And I did not want to alter it. But it was useable at other locations. It just liked my tree better. since I have put in an 80m efhw.
Thanks You.
Most urban interference is vertically polarized. It starts random but the horizontal portion strongly couples with the ground and gets attenuated. This gives horizontal antennas a noise advantage right off the ball. Next laying an antenna on the ground reduces the signal by about 100dB and the noise by about 140bB, increasing your signal to noise ratio by about 40dB (these figures were for a Beverage on the Ground) but the loop should be similar.
Unprocessed data shown problem is shown in wxtoimg while receiving the image then what is the solution for this
Excellent review. Radiodiddy has excellent customer service and I expect many more great ideas from them. I really like the G90 radio.
That poor guy. What a life. Drugs, spanking, screaming and jerking😢
What about GMRS? Similar properties to CB radio, repeaters can give good coverage for hand held radios, uhf antennas are much smaller than CB or HF ham, and a non technical untested licence covers your whole family.
I did not recommend GMRS due to it's lack of range without repeaters. You don't want to base you emergency comms on a radio that is dependent on local third party system to get out.
Do you have a link from the Yagi antenna in this video. Thx

I will not contribute to the $54B man’s salary. No Tesla. No Starlink.
CB radios are now made using FM instead of the old AM modes. This makes the CB radios MUCH quieter than they used to be. Most of the hiss and pop and white noise is gone from CB now.
Not much FM traffic around hear. Still AM and SSB
ive got one and I think ive heard maybe three people on it on the FM side LOL its still new in the USA been around for several years in Europe. Traffic will pick up once old radios die and truckers swap out their old stuff. The new radios will still have AM FM and SSB.
Great Stuff Danny - curious about the lantern radio
I'll have to do an in depth video on it
Thanks for the video. Now I know why I am not able to hear much here with S9 noise. Expected signal strength on most bands is S6-7. 73 Jon, VU2JO
Your welcome, glad you liked it!

So much of this is way over my head. Is a higher dbi antenna always better?
Not always, it depends on the scenario and desired range.
Your vid is short but informative! I saw another vid where a gent spent TOO much time on the manual!
Thank you, I like to get right to the point!
@@BrokenSignal it's like the old Western saying? "Let's get to where the horses are!"
Hello, I will give you my opinion on this radio which has good and bad. First of all, I know that when Amazon France delivered this radio to me, I had the unpleasant surprise of seeing that some segments of the screen were not functional and that the frequencies were difficult to read. So I was forced to disassemble the radio and by switching the contact product on the small pink bar and on the card, I was able to recover all the scripts. Here is my personal opinion on this radio which has to start with a very good FM reception and even better than my XHDATA D-808. I think that the Bandwidth function has a lot to do with it as on the famous Quodosen dx-286. Regarding AM (MW) I find the original reception awful but fortunately I found the solution to change the internal AM coil on a RETEKESS V115 and really, I have considerably improved the AM reception like the reception of TALK SPORT (1053) or CAROLINE (658) while I am in France. The AIRBAND is not too bad but I regret a huge background noise between each connection of the pilots. If you want to listen at high volume to the exchanges, you will surely be bothered by this. In France the VHF Band is of no use to me any more than the VB band. Like many of you, I would have preferred a good SSB. I also report a bug that I noticed, sometimes it is impossible for me to restart the radio and the screen starts flashing. I have to remove the battery to restart the radio. I also regret the absence of RDS because for a radio of this price, it seems to me that it was the least of things. the MP3 player is nice and the fact of recording the radio is good. I would also have appreciated a built-in microphone for the Voice and conversation recording function like on the Lijiani RD239. I also regret that during MP3 playback, it is impossible to see the titles of the songs and the name of the folders appear. In summary, I would say that it is a nice radio but still at an abusive price with certain defects like that of the screen or the low MW reception and the absence of RDS and SSB
The first example you used around 3:50ish sounds an awful lot like the Desert Oracle podcast guy...to me anyways.
Thank you very much for such a simple walkthrough bro, was doing circles trying to get these units to work by other means!

I couldn't get anything on mine I tried a V3 433mhz and a V3 868mhz
What antenna did you use, you might want to try another?
still wont work for me. Windows 10 RLT-SDR v4 and SDRuno 1.42. The terminal says the donggle is recognised but the software is not launching.
Make sure your using the EXTIO exe and not SDRUno exe
@@BrokenSignal I made it work, but got no reception, at least audible. I could see activity on some bands but nothing came out of speakers. To be honest I hated that I couldnt move the whole thing around, the UI is a headache, plus I couldn't hear a thing I ended up uninstalling. I couldn't think of a reason why they decided to make this software so complicated.
it would be good to have Meshtastic AND TinyGS on the same device and be able to send text message from Bluetooth phone to the private Meshtastic node into TinyGS, store-forward message via satellite to a similar setup at the other end or a simple web dashboard at the other end which is simple to use. This would be a great help as a very simple emergency message transmission to the other end from deep out in the field. Garmin have a similar paid for service but its propriety.

Would a chain link fence interfere with the signal?
Anything metal will interfere with the signal, how much is the question
@@BrokenSignal Figured it would, kinda shocked you got the results you did. I ask because I live in a rather small home - but was thinking about turning my chain link fence into a loop, since I can't really put up a proper dipole.
Totally disagree on the price. Seeed it’s a really good product, ready out of the box. But if you diy your node for like base station. Definitely diy is cheaper. Just don’t compare seeed studio price with amazon prices. Cheap aliexpress prices
You probably could get the cost down using Aliexpress, but factor in the time to build and final size and I would still recommend the Seeed.
What's battery life on the T1E like? Havent seen anyone mention that yet
There are a lot of variables that will determine battery life. Is it set up as Client or Tracker, how active is the Mesh Network and etc. With that said, I have mine setup as a standard client and can get about 60 hours (day and a half) before needing to recharge.
Much better than the heltec v3. I barely get 12 hours on a heltec v3.
1081 Bethany Burgs
I get as far as flashing the unit and have a nice display that says to connect but iPhone does not see any new BT device. I have the Meshtastic app but how to connect and continue the setup?
Figured it out. I presume that Meshtastic app can only connect with 1 node at a time?
Correct
Flasher
For lurkers, if you're on Linux and cannot connect using the web flasher, then its probably permissions to /dev/ttyUSB0
Na minha avaliação, os pontos consideráveis são... Pontos positivos: Tamanho compacto. Teclado iluminado.
Awesome sharing, thank you
Thank You!
