A buddy of mine did this exact thing to his Type R and this video doesn't do the sound justice. It sounds much better in person. I almost did the deletes to my Type R but I went ahead and ordered the AWE Touring exhaust for my Type R which I'm currently waiting to come in
I did that as well. But they told me 8/30/21 was the shipping date their “vendor” told them. And I got it from vivid racing I thought it was straight from them but I guess they bought it from some one else. On their website it said 24/48 hour shipping and free if it was over 200$. Obviously was over 200. I paid 1,200 for the exhaust and I understand there’s COVID and every thing but if they can’t live up to their promises then why have them ? And I tried many times to contact customer service which sucked until I had to ask the little bot to refund my money. This is longer than expected my apologies good sir. 😅

Where did you get this boost blue Type R and how much did you end up paying? I’ve been looking everywhere for a Boost Blue Type r but haven’t found any luck 😢
Did you notice any power difference ? What about high rpms driving on the freeway. I did this to my mk3 Supra and there’s times where I miss the quietness. This is my daily and I’m usually cruising around 75-80 and I don’t want my ears to be shot after just one drive
@@bobbybooshay5854 because it has been proven time and time again that running open header will reduce power. There isn't enough back pressure. Don't get me wrong it sounds good, but there is a slight power loss from it. Very minimal however, I will probably do it on my FK8 too.
Don't overthink it. If you want it, go for it. If you're bored of the mustang it's okay lol. I traded my mustang for one, and I'm very happy. It's a great daily.
What about on the freeway? Driving high rpm? I drive a lot and usually move around 75-80 I did this on my mk3 Supra and I sure do miss the quietness. My type r is very silent and I want to hear but not obnoxious loud and I also don’t want to ruin my ears.
So the 2020 pipes in sound from the engine bay, it has a little, but not noticeable when music is on. And it’s too quiet when I’m just driving around the city, too me the car looks out of character. I do plan on getting the Fujitsubo or Spoon later down the line.
If you’re cruising at around 3K rpm, barely any, it’s almost quiet, I left the resonator on the front pipe to not have any. My friend did the front one and it drones more but turn on any music volume 10-15 and you won’t hear any.
Just did this today - Idk how I feel about it actually. I might put my resonator back on or wait for a real catback exhaust. It sounds perfect once you surpass 3500-4k RPM but anything before that is kinda ratchet for this nice of a car. I love modifying cars and really love exhausts but idk, maybe I have just grown out of it.
@@BigSpoonWill hey man, I did. The mid resonator and the 2 mufflers on the rear. So I have been driving around for a couple of days now and I am actually liking it now. I jumped the gun on my comment above. Did you have an aftermarket intake on yours when you did this video? And do you now? Was wondering if an intake would change the tone at all. (My last turbo car got a deeper tone to the exhaust when I put an intake on it.)
Thats what you think... Let something go wrong and watch some how some way that's going to have something to do with it.. $0.02 Just speaking from experience
It will sound different when the wastegate opens , there will be more "airy" or vacuum sound , which I like

No power gains with this mod, you need the front pipe/downpipe combo.

Which resonator did u delete? The small front or the bigger one?
The mid pipe resonator delete and the rear two side resonators.

That's not a muffler. It's a resonator and it is not connected flow wise to the tips.
The middle part is not even connected into the piping, its welded on to alleviate rattling.

yea seem like not a lot of things you can do to an FK8 to improve the sound... so far i only like the full titanium exhaust from rampage fab

@@BigSpoonWill I've deleted my muffler and it still sounds like stock but a little louder thinking removing the mid resonator to make it sound better
