I love probe when used with a status inducing weapon. Obsidian mace or Horror axe is my favorite, by the 2nd or 3rd probe they are on fire/poisoned/bleeding etc... Such a great skill
You can further that damage with the Hex Skill Tree too. Torment does tons of dmg per debuff on an enemy. After applying those dots hit torment and watch their hp take a huge dip if they don’t die out right
I found I actually loved the speedster tree with a big 2 handed build. You get really decent range on your probe, unlike the 1st time I tried speedster w/ the fist weapons. When I did fists, like you "I can never get out of fights w/ alertness" but once I switched to the 2 hander w/ the more range it was a whole new ball game. Still, I'd like to learn to master the fists haha. I think they're by FAR the hardest weapon to use. Who doesn't like having to get so close you can smell the Horror monsters breath? lol
I think the longsword and the heavy two-handed axe are the best with probe like you said for range. I myself think fists work well with speedster, but not well enough. Most of the time you need to just get in and hit with regular attacks to make fists good. Backup skills like mana ward make it super strong as well.
To make fist weapons good you need to be agressive with them. Pair speedster with monk and take the counter attack and use the reuse skill on it. Being able of use counter 2 times in a row with the reduce CD on top make it a very difficult but rewarding build. Being close and personal its when most shine. Mi preference with this build is low mana, enough to cast all boons before combat and go ham with prismatic flurry as a finisher.
I had no idea what Probe did, and it's literally what I need for my Daggerist to come online. The ability to inflict Pain and Confusion, paired with Sweep kick and Opportunist stab... honestly it ends most fights.
Probe is extremely useful and with how fast its attacks are you can really get those hits in quick. Don't forget however that alertness levels decrease your resistance. Just something to keep in mind but still a very strong skill.
@@TheLateral18 Cast all your boons and then just press the skill. It does more damage based on how many boons you have active making it deal tons of damage if you have everything up. New video just went up on my channel today if you don't know where to find all the boons. Hope that helps!

@sheenshots can you do a probe build one of the next times you do a melee build on stream? I was thinking about trying this with cabal hermit, monk skill tree, and speedster of course. Maybe mix in some hex for range on occasion who knows. What would you use?
See the thing is I am not a probe guy. I will use anything in the game to great effect and avoid probe as much as possible. Speedster entirely actually just because of how the tree works. If I were to use it though I would likely go with a tsar shield and onehanded tsar mace. Probe has the same attack speed no matter what letting you attack at a fast rate with the slowest weapon. Tsar weapons impact and damage should prevent you from trading as you activate probe as well. And it works really well with all the classes you have selected.
@@SheenShots I completely understand. It seems like one could just take the monk tree and get so many cool attacks and be fine. Prove looks fun but if u csnt keep stack meh. Spear may be good with it as well for the range
Hey SheenShots I was wondering if you could make a build using the manawall armor. From what I've seen it's a pretty awesome armor set but no one seems to talk about it.
You will need to run in and get four probe hits. Then run away and be ranged at that point. This keeps you a bit safer but grants you the nice combos from the probe skill.
Hey Sheen shots please reply to my question I started a week ago with my brother he goes mage and I wanted more great sword so I thought about Hunter, warrior monk,speedster/mercenery what u think?
Ya that could work great honestly.
