16:39 the noise you make at 3am when losing a game on time
True story
ahahaha true
After losing to Hikaru the same way, Magnus doubled it and gave it to Alireza
Not quite, cagnus was almost drawing nikaru here guccireza was not winning so it would of been a draw anyway.
Well, magnus definitely NOT in losing position against hikaru
Bro literally said "double it and give it to the next person"
Was he paid? 🤔
16:51 Alireza extended his hand to resign with 1 second on the clock. The clock ran out, but he didn't flag. He resigned.
He resigned because of flag, if someone resigns because an inevitable checkmate u dont say he resigned u say he got mated, same here it was an inevitable flag since this endgame wasnt even near to be over there were at least 30 perfect moves yet to be done
@@JanDarkyy he resigned cuz the endgame was totally lost they had 1 sec increment firouzja would not give up for no reason
@@JanDarkyy he resigned because he knew he couldn't win as white in that endgame, Magnus was the only one who could win. He figured why play on where he loses anyways with a draw
Yeah, his hand touches Magnus hand just before the clock goes to 0:00.
@@JanDarkyy You just wrote bunch of nonsense lmao.
chat complaining about the commentators "overhyping" Magnus during this round.. Magnus is the tournament leader, rank #1 fide rated, and former 5 time world champ. if you want boring neutral commentary, turn off the audio and have TTS read the lines played out for you. i can see theres another magnus hater in the comments here also lol
Typical human behaviour. After some time, some people want the statu quo to change, and that includes seeing the reigning champion and #1 lose his spot.
Reigning champion?
Live chat in chess tournament are horrible in general alot haters towards the commentator , racist , and sexist.
@@ShirayukiRaitoSexist cuz Norway chess gets the same prize while way higher rated players don't get anything?
Time is the 65th square.
7:55 Tried to shut down the studio but Magnus had a set of left handed golf clubs
magnus goat
Clicked so fast but now I’m going to see if levy has made a video on it

@@Satkarpoudel10she is 12...
Ali reza and the 40 moves
15:57 why d3 is a winning move?
Tempo advantage. is like thanos with gems, inevitable.
Firouzja resigned, he was not flagged
Maybe Ali Reza should have played simpler moves and kept his time advantage.
go magnus
Nice video I got really excited!
thats hot
There are people in chat that defend this format of virtually no increment and its hilarous to me. Legit 20% of these Armageddon games ended in flags and it is not a fun viewing experience. It just cheapens the event. Idiots in chat are like well its their fault for not managing their time better. Sure, but the point is when 20% of your games end in flags its not about the players play, its about the format bringing down the event.
Still 80% wins the battle...so it doesn't make any sense...if black is given an advantage of holding the draw...then surely time factor should be in favour of white simple as that...if players are getting flagged.. Better do more practice
@@hon3220 again it has nothing with to do with players practice. Even if they managed to somehow over come the pretty much 0 increment OTB, still not a great format unless they managed to get the flag rate under 5%. If you think flagging 1/5% in a classical tournament, or ANY tournament in general is good then idk what to tell you
So do you want another classical gam in Armageddon?
@@sarathkamal1293 is a 3 second increment too much to ask for so people can atleast move? I just don't want 20% of the games to be flags
@@admiralaokiji7889yes that can be done. But then the time advantage would not mean much. And it will become a normal rapid game, where a draw is possible. But we want just one winner here
It's sad to see Firouzja not live up to his potential and get passed by FOUR players that are younger than him. I thought he was going to be the successor to Magnus. A very good player but sadly on the decline. Still a fan though.
bro Magnus look IDENTICAL to Gordon Ramsay when Ramsay was young
Alireza bad time management frustrates me
Alireza will become WC and #1 eventually. Mark my words
@@jaconova He has been surpassed by 4 players younger than him as he has declined in the rankings. Firouzja is dividing his time between chess and his fashion career and has steadily lowered in FIDE rating. He's trending down pretty strongly.
12:30 can Magnus just capture on g4 ?
No, because f1 is protected twice.
@@CVUK There is a check on d5,so...
Good idea but he can't, cause there is Ne7+ sac the knight to protect d5 square then easily capture the rook
@@minamax7761 I agree. I see 2 lines after white defends with their queen on f3.. Rxg4 fxg4, Qd5+ Qf3; If Rxf3 Ne7+ wins the queen back after King moves out of check. If Qxf3+ Rxf3, Rxf3 Nxd4, exd4 Rxc7 would be advantageous for white I believe. Draw'ish perhaps?
@@minamax7761 Now I got it,thank you
This is how you become the best player in the world. You play a boring defensive line, then flag your opponent.
Only a trash like you could do such a stupid comment,
you seem like you have a problem with him for no reason, or at least how he won this game
@@randomsandwichguy436 I'm just telling you how he is the best player in the world. You sound like you have a problem.
@@craftykev lol a problem with what?
@@randomsandwichguy436 calm down
