@@UrbexGeorgiaJenn it’s on St. John’s Avenue in Palatka Florida as you go over the bridge of the St. Johns River take a right and then a left onto Saint Johns Avenue go down about 2 1/2 to 3 miles and you’ll see an iron gate. It’s all grown up with weeds, but beyond the iron gate is a beautiful water fountain and an old mansion. There’s pictures of it online, if you Google it, it’s really old the house was built by George Drew the one that built Elaville near Madison Florida. Oh, I used the location in Palatka for three of my historical romance novels. It’s that beautiful and extremely haunted looking oh real Halloween house.
just some history, Palatka, Florida was once the largest city in Florida with a sawmill that produced the finest cypresswood in the world. They shipped even to France and western Europe. It was a vacation hot spot on the river for many years, and then the paper factory came there, and it supplied the toilet paper throughout the country one of the largest suppliers. It was a boom town and now it’s abandoned, but it’s got some of the most beautiful buildings you’ll ever see, all tucked away and hidden in the small town on the St. Johns River rich in Florida history and native American history more so even then Saint Augustine
