  • Journey with me into the ghost town of Ellaville located in northern Florida along the Suwannee River. George Franklin Drew was one of the founders of the town and later went on to become Florida's 12th Governor. Today much of the old parts of town are being reclaimed by nature. On this adventure I explore parts of the old Drew mansion and cemetery. Enjoy and thank you for watching!
"Ellaville was a boom town of the 1800's where approximately 1000 people lived at one time. The location was at the merging of the Withlacoochee and Suwannee rivers. George Drew and Louis Bucki had a number of business's here including logging, sawmill, turpentine, and railroad car building."

It’s pretty creepy to take a tombstone. When I saw that it reminded me of a business in Lake City whose owners lived in a home near the Target warehouse. They had a genuine tombstone. I wonder if it came from there.

I toured the mansion in the '50s and '60s. Too bad it wasn't saved back then. Used to hunt on that property also.

From the looks of the foundation ruins it appears that home was huge. Very interesting history. Thanks for sharing.

Did you find the remains of the mill on the river? I have been to Ellaville many times but I haven't found these ruins. Nice catch on the train by the way! That is a hobby of mine and I also enjoy finding old railroad history like this just forgotten by the tracksides.

Hey!! I made it to the ruins. Just by getting little clues from your video. So exciting.
I was unable to find the cemetery though.
Thanks for all you do Joe.
I sent you an email asking for help.

I live close by there and hike by it once a year, my dad remembers visiting friends that lived in the mansion when he was young it was huge. I have visited this site so many times over the years nature is claiming this one faster and faster. I have photos of me inside the cistern, a team cataloged that graveyard about 6 or 7 years ago i was there. Next time you are close to the area lets hike

"Hi everybody, I'm Florida trail blazer and I go to other peoples youtube channels and leave rude comments that aren't helpful and then I delete them because my balls aren't big enough" keep being hated in this community bro you are doing a great job of that! Loads of people who try to help you and then they just get turned away because you are a horrible person. The last comment I made on your channel was simply to help you become better. THEN you go to my page and comment " let me guess another wanna be gamer" lmao bro why didn't you comment under the videos of the people from the streets I have on?
