  • WARNING: This video is intended for ADVANCED or patient INTERMEDIATE beaders!! Knowledge of peyote and patience with double fringe is required. Don't say I didn't warn you...
    CORRECTION: use 180cm, not 150cm of thread. Aplogies for the confusion!
    Make your own adorable gnome charm! These are about 1.5" tall so make great earrings, charms or decorations for a miniature tree. They are also customizable so try making ones for different holidays, like St Patrick's Day or even a patriotic gnome!
    MATERIALS for one gnome:
    11/0 seed beads for hat (brand, colors and finish are up to you - delicas or rounds)
    11/0 seed beads beard (brand, color and finish are up to you - rounds are recommended for texture)
    15/0 seed beads for star and top hanger (brand, color and finish up to you)
    4mm pearl or druk for the nose - any skin tone (peach, brown, bronze, etc)
    6mm or 8mm pearl or druk for inner support
    Beading thread (Fireline 4lb in Crystal, KO or other brand of nylon thread is also okay) - at least 6 feet or 180cm
    Stop bead
    Beading needle - 2" #11, #12 or #13 as preferred
    Beading mat
    Scissors or thread zapper
    OPTIONAL finishing extras:
    Jumpring
    Earring finding

    I've been beading for several years, I know how much work there is into this tutorial. Thank you very much! Do you have some mail or IG to send you pictures of your little guy beaded by me?

    how to make smaller one ?

    • @JulesRose
      @JulesRose  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use 15/0 seed beads and a smaller bead for the nose. The star on the cap would not work the same, but the hat and beard would.

    I'm at 21:31 and I cannot tell which beads you are going down, for me the red is hard to see. Do you have a zoomed in picture? I went to full screen and still cannot tell.

    Hi! Happy new year! I was working on your little gnome and it was hard for me to hear your comments.😔 Would you mind speaking a little bit louder? I had the volume all the way up and it still was hard to understand you. I don't have hearing problems and I even tried different devices to watch your video! That is why I dare suggest this; please forgive me. 🤭Also remember that some of your followers may actually have hearing difficulties. Thanks for your understanding!! 🤗

      Thank you for your feedback, I’ll keep that in mind. Just to add that viewers can also turn on Closed Captioning on my videos (for people with hearing impairments). 😊

    Hi....trying to use the beading thread in my stash....can I use Nymo D or Nozue Sonoko 78dtx? Thank you!!!

    • @JulesRose
      @JulesRose  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can, either works well for the fringe. 😊

    What about dragon thread?

    • @JulesRose
      @JulesRose  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I think Dragon thread would be okay for this since the fringe is shorter than a normal one. I’m still a KO fan for longer fringe though. Great question! 😊

    Hi, Juliet, I am on my second attempt and keep questioning whether I am right at 18:35. Are you going from a pair to a pair or pair to single bead?

    • @JulesRose
      @JulesRose  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A pair to a single. Great question. Make sure your work is turned the way I show so you go up (or down) 2 on the right and one on the left. 😊

    • @suem.3651
      @suem.3651 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JulesRose Wow, that was fast! Thanks! On to attempt #3! I am struggling on the 2 and 1 thing. I know which side is 1 or 2, but I keep getting taken back to the same level to connect the sides. So I am having trouble getting the number of beads per side to reduce and connect the hat at all levels. If post a couple pics on FB tomorrow can you please tell me where I went wrong?

    • @JulesRose
      @JulesRose  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, of course! Post a couple of photos and I’ll help you. 😊 It is confusing visually!!

    • @JulesRose
      @JulesRose  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, I think I misunderstood what you are asking… you go from the top pair under a single bead to the pair on the opposite side under a single bead.

    • @suem.3651
      @suem.3651 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I got confused when you said to go into a single bead. I watched again and you clearly are going into the pair.
