    They did this song as the last of the encore songs when they played at the St. Augustine Ampitheater back on July 22. Just like in this version, Jason and the 400 Unit totally kicked ass on this song--I have seen different iterations of the ABB do this song dating back to the late 1970s, and along with In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, and a few other cuts from Live at Filmore East---an album I think is one of the best ever recorded albums in rock history, Jason and the band are doing an incredible job in recreating the feeling that listening to the ABB do it has given me since I was a kid. The show in St. Augustine was a great show from the moment it started to the end of this song---that was my third time seeing him do a show going back to when he toured on the release of Southeastern. He sure is on top of his game and even more important, clearly on top of his life with sobriety, finding the love of a great partner and now being a daddy---we should all be so fortunate to find all the things Jason so deservedly has found now: stability, peace, the love of a great woman, doing good work and getting deserved satisfaction from it. I think I can make a prediction that should come to pass---we have yet to see the best of Jason Isbell's work coming in the future...

      There is a group of trolls who roam TH-cam clicking the dislike button on every video. It has noting to do with the content. It's all about the perverse joy they get from going outside of conventional or rational behavior. It's also to get a rise out of anyone who believes that they actually dislike something that's good. They are jealous of anyone with talent because they have none. They lack the intellect necessary to identify something of quality and to discern what goes into producing something of quality. They are nothing more that basement dwelling rodents.

    Hot damn. Love to see these guys playing AB. This is SOME band. Love their stuff and do unbelievable covers! Jason calls out shitty songs and record labels for pushing drivel but you see his love of really good music.

    The Guy In The Hat And Glasses Looks Like Jason's Old Bandmate Paterson Hood From The Drive By Trucker's (JC13Inc,)

    • @patriciadyar2482
      @patriciadyar2482 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I posted above, no, he really doesn't. Patterson is from Sheffield, AL - right across the TN River from Florence, AL. (His Father is David Hood, bass player for the "Swampers", the nickname Skynyrd gave to the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.) He's a good bit taller than Jimbo. Jimbo has a better haircut. Bet Jimbo sings better, too. I worked at a Record Bar store back during the mid 80's. I got stuck paired with "Pat", as he went by back then, him to do an inventory one time. When I say stuck, instead of merely stating the title of whatever we counted, he would sing the title of each tape, CD, and vinyl album. Needless to say, we weren't the speediest counters doing that inventory. I can still hear him singing "Barn in the USA" instead of "Born..."
