- Where should I start with this? I purposefully did not check the dance practice to keep the first impression intact for when the MV drops and omg what?! I understand the concept of a reboot but THIS?! This is so far from anything I could have predicted them to do! And I get that this is a pre release of sort before the full group comeback but damn! I seriously could not have, even in my wildest dream, envisioned TREASURE do such mature and sexy concept! This, simply put, is right up my alley! The vocals at the end specifically are heaven and in addition, you give me shirtless Jihoon? Yes. That was when I snapped nsnsnsn
Now, I have to admit that while this is something that I personally really enjoy and I know that this should be satisfying enough and as long as the members are in with this whole thing, I should feel like this is enough BUT I can’t help but wonder if this direction is the right concept for a rebooting or not. Then again, it might be too early to forge an opinion but if the full group concept is similar to this concept here, I’m questioning whether this is going to be beneficial to the group's future. It's also known that YG does not really follow trends and everything but this is quite old school and reminded me of the 2nd gen and so, I'd say it is quite far from what is considered trendy right now and thus going back to my worry: is this is right move for the rebranding? I'm just concerned because I want this to work, I want people to stop sleeping on them and I want them to be recognised for them potential and talent! So yes, while I really like this, I can't help but still feel uncertain about this! Would love to hear you guys' opinion on this, perhaps it could help appease my brain!

the fact Junkyu had composed the whole song by himself is insane, also it means YG artist are monsters when it comes to producing songs, I mean YG should let them be artistically because they have THE POTENTIAL.
I'm only a casual listener of Treasure but this song has really captured my attention. It is so good. I'm now ready to dive in and watch a guide. So I personally think it was the right direction for them to take.
Hii! They have a very popular reality show called Treasure Map! season 1 is predebut, season 2 is debut era and they have been filming s3 for the last 6 months! You can start with any episode, They are all great!

We always tend to forget that TREASURE was having concerts in between those 8 months and also working on their music. I know we want them to comeback every three months but 😂 we also need to remind ourselves that some members are still in school and are still working on their Asia tour and new songs. Treasure is going set their own trend of not sticking to one recycled concept. I’m no expert in branding but as a fan, I love seeing this type of versatility. I think that is what this Reboot is about. From something super hard like VolKno to something smooth and swaggy like Move, Treasure has the ability to attract a wider audience than just those who love the typical “YG sound”. They are a young group full of talented composers/writers/producers with varying tastes and perspectives and are just beginning to explore the breadth of their musicality.
i cant agree more for the introT^T the boys are really so talented and deserve much more as long as YG promote them and do their jobs better.
For me this is a great choice because they proving that they can fit any concept and the fact that it's very different from they're gen which is 4th gen is also making them pronounce especially ehen they're considered as part of 2nd gen with their quality

In my opinion, the sexy vibe that MOVE and T5 brought will not define TREASURE's reboot/rebrand. They might show a little maturity this time but I feel like the sexy concept belongs to T5 exclusively since they are supposed to be "flower boys". Another thing is that the song was unofficially released a week ago and the response so far is great, both by fans and non-fans, which evident with the views and comments that the dance practice is getting.
I agree with what you said too, that the members seems to be overqualified given the talents they have. That's why I think the best tactic they did before the actual REBOOT was to highlight these members are usually got less in the group songs. Now that we saw how great they are in MOVE, it's very highly that people anticipates more from them on the next official releases.
TREASURE will be back with a full album soon and according to Junkyu in an interview, the REBOOT album has more member participations compared from the previous albums. And they tried to curate range of songs to showcase them more. So let's all look forward to the REBOOT ALBUM on August!!!
yg will be hands-on for treasure and babymonster now that he is back. the reboot album will also be, according to junkyu, the album that has more members that participated. i am super excited to see this whole reboot thing for treasure! it's time for them to get out there

For me they still have YG's colors in this unit. The swag is still there( not as much as others), the expensive n exclusive vibes that is so YG and they add their own colors too. That's make them unique. Like treasure is a diversity group. All of them have different colors and talents. We have seen how classy and smooth yedam in his solo( i cannot exclude him tbh even when he is not in treasure anymore but at least he still in treasure when he had this solo), hyunhayo with their powerfull swag in their unit song; vulkano and t5 with their expensive and sexy charm in move. And asahi with his sweet charm ( and also feels warm) with haruto in their unit song too. All left is jeong woo, i want to see his solo so bad now. Like YG need to give him solo ASAP.

I think there's a reason why they made a whole unit for this song and concept, and these 5 are the perfect lineup for this concept instead of making them all do it. I understand your concern about it, which made me worry too, I just don't think YG will completely switch up their existing music colors, this is just a part of it like how the different units from the last album existed with different sounds too.
The fact that you said it doesn't sound like yg when yhs himself took part in its arrangement. So it's like as authentic as it gets.

Reboot because they going for more matured and bold concepts. Probably they're just waiting for their maknae line to grow up and now they are ready to do these concepts. Actually lots of fans are so excited of this reboot and Im really looking forward foe their August Comeback. I also expect at least 2-3 subunits in their full album comeback.

I get where you at 100% as a YG Stan too. This song has 2nd gen vibe to it.. but it kinda worked as a Pre-release for them for this reboot comeback. Yes, this is just a pre-release. It got the public curious (especially the dance practice video) & it showed their versatility as a group. They’ve done enough of the youthful poppy concepts so maybe it’s time for them to show something else. Cause sticking to one concept these days won’t work too for BGs. Let’s see what they will offer in their reboot album title track. I’m up for it.💎🫰🏻
To me it was a concept specifically associated to this sub-unit. I don't think Treasure as a whole will follow this kind of vibe. Honestly, I don't think Hyunsuk would accept to act like this hahaha. In my opinion, this was the perfect fit for these guys, I am not fully convinced it looks good on Junkyu, but it's fine, I still love him and I am proud that he has participated in the lyrics and composing of the song. Jihoon, Jaehyuk and Jungwan are great in here. I am happy it gave some of the members that do not get that many lines in their group songs a moment to shine. I am excited to see what they have in store in this new stage of their career.
Idk what ure talking about bcz junkyu actually looked the most fitting here with most natural facial expressions and gestures along with jihoon, the other 3 in some shots had awkward expressions and gestures but i blame it on the mv directing bcz all 5 them are usually good. But saying junkyu didn't fit when he was the best here is kinda hilarious ngl

nice perspective with this reboot. however for me i think it's fine. this is a subunit. i feel like yg wants to broaden the audience. a mature sexy concept without including all members was a great idea since i really think, for now, it wont fit all of them. so creating t5 to do this, with members who are comfortable with their bodies and appeal was a brilliant move. we still have the treasure album coming so let's see what kind of reboot we are talking about.

My hunch is T5 unit concept was traditional kpop. Jihoon said in an interview they wanted to show people they can also pull of this concept through this unit promotions. Love how they get to experiment with different genres through unit tracks!

I listen to some Treasure songs like Boy, Jikjin, Bona Bona, Mmh ect, but I'm not a fan, I only knew Yoshi, Asahi, Haruto, Hyunsuk and Yedam but I was curious to see Move by t5 and I fell in love with Jihoon, Junkyu and Junghwan I also loved the part about Oh, baby, tell me what you're waiting for? because Jihoon sings it so well and Junghwan with a relaxing voice, I loved that debut

Since Junkyu wrote the song, I think they feel like they are ready to progress to the next level. Everything about this song from the song itself to the choreography and visuals is one point. They did a great job with this project! I am sure it’s only going to be better with the full album coming out. It’s kind of like when VolKno came out with the rap unit, it was next level just a different vibe. The boys can do anything they put their minds to do. I am so proud of them. First, you need to definitely watch the dance practice. The choreo is so good. Second, I love the song and concept. I get what you mean on whether this is the right step for a reboot, but we should just be aware that this is a pre-release. We are not really sure what kind of songs are on the album yet. We will have to wait and see. I think YG is trying to show us that they are not boys anymore. They are men and are trying to broaden their average audience age range. They pull off the concept so well that you would not think that they are young men. But anyway, I love watching your reactions, and I am always excited when I see a new video from you. Teumes understood why YG wasn't at the helm when Treasure debuted that's why everyone is so much EXCITED with this REBOOT cuz we know YG, and only himself, can DELIVER. Treasure is in good hands now, so let's focus on supporting them and keeping an open mind, instead of giving in to negativities and complaining. P.S. You should've watched the dance practice video cuz there's a reason why it was released first.
Personally i think them doing something so different from the typical YG sound is so good, and something they NEEDED to do. I feel they really needed a change and i cant wait to see what Treasure as a whole have in store for us!! The direction it’ll go we can only tell when we see the full product. I cant wait to see where they are going with the group’s reboot. I’m on for the ride. I hope that while it’s good that it will be different which we need, it’s also something they like and are into because we like them anyway. I also would love for them to continue doing units in the future with variations of members. It’s so fun.
I only hope they don’t change their award show red carpet looks because those were perfect and top tier. I always loved their red carpet fashion in award shows. It’s been so good and perfectly complimented each member’s individual style and vibe.

It’s just that YG being YG and they need to also be careful since their company being hit by many scandals previously, but again it’s nice seeing TREASURE grows and slowly finds their way into people’s heart (gathering attention) 😊😊 not to mention there are too many boy and girl groups out there, it’s something that is needed to set their foot in this industry (imo) and make them stand out 😊 this new album got me curious as what kind of music will they show me, since the members said there were more self-composed songs 😊 to say that they need to show their talents, it’s one of the ways 😊

Exactly what I was thinking of when I watched the dance practice. The sudden change in their concept make me excited and worried at the same time. Well, to be honest (at first) I just don't want to see my little babies grow up this fast as I have followed them since they were in primary schools. But then, I understand that YG want Treasure to get more exposure, especially in South Korea by presenting this kind of concept with all Korean members. Even though the concept seems to be like and old school but it sounds refreshing somehow and instead of reminding me to the 2nd gen, I'd like to say that it is more Nsync or backstreet boys kind of thing. Again, as you said, YG will never follow a trend, they create a trend. Probably, they want to make 90s boygroup kind of thing famous again as they do not include any rappers here.
