His single bass drum skills are incredible and also allows him to still have his left foot doing other patterns in the hi hat. Unique drummer...
ドラムセットにもすごく最高ですよね、本当に素敵ですよね。
I don't know if I've ever heard anyone play single kick doubles that fast!
I agree, amazing stuff.
Single bass pedal. Absolutely amazing!!
after all these years, this video still blows my mind
Outstanding drumming on the GTR album with Steve Howe, Steve Hackett, Phil Spalding, and Max Bacon. Thanks for sharing.
If I remember correctly, he played Drums with Joe Satriani and I remember seeing him in 1989 at the Center Stage Theater in downtown Atlanta.
Absolutely amazing show!!!
one of most underrated drummers in the world....... so shame.... he is really good...
Underrated according to whom? He's worked with acts such as Fuel and Oleander with a huge resume of other session work.
@@ShrinkRaptor underrated publicly....... Go and ask people how many of them knows portnoy and how many knows mover..... Just unfair
@@danielmathia5875 I know both but I knew who Jonathan was before Mike or even heard of Dream Theatre
One someone has nothing of value to say about an artist, they say he is underrated. It’s so overused on here.
@@danielmathia5875 If he played with Rod Stewart and Alice Cooper...how can he be underrated? Probably by Justin Bieber's fans.
So freakin' tight... The guy's a machine! And his left hand kills
That kit sounds amazing
Saw him play with Rod Stewart in '88 then Alice Cooper in '89. Phenomenal chops this guy has.
Those toms though... Damn
I had this on vhs and watched it till the tape broke! Thanks Man!
Fantastic Drummer!!!! Great Technic!!!!
So fluid...moves effortlessly around the kit...and that foot is amazing!
Killed it with Joe Satriani!
GTR RULES! Best band nobody heard of! We know where Attack of the 20lb Pizza came from. Chaffee! Such a pure drum sound...love the head selection.
American One Productions Rehearsal and Drum Studios in NJ gives two huge thumbs up 👍🏻🥁👍🏻. Fantastic Video! Thanks for sharing 😃

Paul Fuller drum study he’s amazing and an amazing person as well..was performing with Saigon Kick amongst other things...he also has a publication “Drumhead Magazine “ ..quite stellar performance ALWAYS!!
Joe Satriani, Surfing with the alien.
That was a Drum Machine, but he did play live.
I love his bass drum work! I think the GTR live album is from ´86
What emotional drum Solo. Unique. Perfect Sound.

The cowbell part is insane!!
Man, so good to find this. Mr. Mover is a beast.
i wish jonathan was more active on the socials - incredible drummer
I just found out he studied with 'The Master'. INCREDIBLE!!!
Loved this!!!! So awesome!!!! 😎
I like the fact he used a single pedal for the bass drum pattern, but I'd need a step ladder to reach his cymbals at their height.
This guy is awesome and I love all of his big 24 and 26 Bass drum technically pearl the best reason to play Drums
Pretty sure these are Tama Starclassics
Very special patterns. Really enjoyed the video!
The drumsound is insane
GREAT STUFF!
Wow, really original. I’ve never heard anything like this. I think I’ll be watching this several times in the future and now I’m very interested in seeing his group “ProgJect” perform live!

@@user-dx7we2xd3uWhat the hell are you on? 😅
Oh that bass drum!😮🎉
Awesome
Eres un excelente baterista.
I love his snare drum sound, strong 💪🏽 and dry, it's so amazing. A start to see him in Alice Cooper concert, Trashes the World, omg 🤤🤤
Uow Monster !!!
Papacito super Talentoso
wow amazing!!!
excellent
still love your drumming!!
So sick
Mover is alright. Those headphones are killing.
Muy buen video.
He just destroyed the drums on the Alice Cooper trash album tour!!!! It's great to see a video with him, I've been a fan for years and you rarely find this type of material
I've always known about him . buy i never knew he is this flippin good. Stamina
Great playing.
GRAN BATERISTA!!! alguna vez paso por las filas de Marillion.
This guy laughs at double pedals! His foot is just sick.
Tama hyperdrive before it even happened!
We play a lot alike. I get it. Nice job. Hope all is well.
MOVER!!!!!!
the end is the ending of the circles solo.
Yes Exactly Johnatan played this groove:)
Satriani drummer
SugarFoot!
Not even John Bohnam could be that fast with one foot
Hip stuff
Jonathan visited Marillion but was apparently too complicated for Fish..
I realize this is a nine year old video, but do you have any idea what kind of drum heads those are? They look like Evans from what I can see but I can’t tell what type they are exactly.
DENNIS CAMBERS DOES SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THIS ( BUT IN A MORE INTENSE EXTREME WAY ), ON THE TUNE '' DANCING MEN '' FROM THE BUDDY RICH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP VIDEO
Which Tama line is he using here if anyone knows because I'm seeing individual lugs on the tom-toms?
Starclassic
Thank you!@@chrissmith3668
and then "Lords of Karma" hah
What kind or ride is that. Sounds thick like a Z .
Unlathed. No Computer hammering. Likely a 22” Zildjian Earth Ride
@@adhominemtroll maybe a k custom?
Пиздец как круто!!!
This is all great but how about just a simple sweet groove? Nice chops though, Ill give ya that ;-) JK...Jonathan Mover is a legend. How old is this video LOL
Helps if your right foot is owned by God! Mine definitely isn't!
As a bass player: What the fuck am I supposed to do with that?
That’d be like a drummer hearing Jaco saying wtf am I suppose to do with that? These are concepts not song drumming and Vinnie Colaiuta used one of these concepts on his solo record having also studied with Gary Chaffe. Can’t a musician really dig in to learning their instrument and push the boundaries when not playing a song?
@@Monsterdrumma I’ve seen videos where that exact thing happens. You could see the frustration on the faces of drummers who are basically having to ignore him. While always a great soloist, by the 80s, Jaco was a terrible bassist who couldn’t lock into the drums to save his life.
Sure a drummer can but that’s for the practice room. Otherwise it’s just hitting round things with sticks and no non-drummers really care.
@@richsackett3423 Yeah but this is him showing what he practiced in the practice room. The more you know makes playing simpler things even easier. Mover would never do this in say a pop song but if he got with a Zappa type it would help. Just have a full arsenal and choose what to use accordingly.
@@Monsterdrumma Excellent point, well-made.
@@richsackett3423 Thanks!
Great chops but IMO boring.
Boring
Awesome drummer!! What is the brand of the drums? They sound amazing
They look like Tama Starclassics
might want to catch him on an Alice Cooper Dvd playing a big drum set
