This has to be the strangest drum set up I've ever seen in my life. But it makes the video more entertaining for sure. Major props to you for playing how you play. Mad impressive
A lot of people look past the fact that theyre over 50, and its not as easy. People may say oh but so and so is their age and is still great, but everyone is different.

don't have one, I would say ride the lighting or master of puppets, maybe kill em all not sure all of those great old albums bring back great memories....
This is the most EPIC drum medley I have ever seen! Your attention to dynamics are nothing short of extraordinary - from how the songs were mixed at the perfect time to the perfect drum parts that showcase style, power, speed, and complexity - it's all so awesome! I also LOVE how you edited this! It brought such a strength to the performance and the order broke up the dynamics and flow of the medley so well - it not only showcases the drumming well - but it keeps the pace fresh and doesn't bore the viewer! Finally, I will complete my chubfest over this video by saying: I TOTALLY dug the symmetrical drum kit! How you switch from leftie to rightie is KILLER! Also, from the straight playing(you are dead on -part wise!) to the visuals (tricks)...this makes watching you so entertaining! GREAT job over all (as if you couldn't tell!). By the by: what sticks do you use?! I, too, have Zildgian Z series symbols that I ADORE! Thanks for a GREAT video!
gounderus Dude, I'm glad to read this, people really dig my ambidextrious style, but you brought my dynamics to the table and I'm flattered, thank you, man. I'm glad you noticed and took your time to write these words! Thank you for watching!
Bebetto TheNinjaDrummer Thanks so much, my friend! I am keepin' my fingers crossed that you will be endorsed BIG time! If/when you start putting on drum clinics - I will be first in line!
What's crazy is this guy can play both righty and lefty. High respect my man I personally don't many drummers, many musicians to be exact that can do this. Awesomer cover my guy. Interesting set up too i don't know how i feel about it but it works for you obviously!
O MetallicA já pode demitir o Lars e te contratar meu brother. Tenho visto todos os seus vídeos, e na minha opinião, no Brasil você é o MELHOR. Abraços.
Cool that he didn't divided all songs equally, instead favoring some of the most interesting songs rhythmically - Battery, AJFA, Dyers Eve... Great job, loved that improv on Fuel!
Good job man!!! Cool/interesting drum set up with the toms. You ripped it up!! And also made me appreciate Lars' drumming even more! He def has an original style.
Oh my, the drumming on the song "and justice for all" - stunning!! - "ajfa" is their best album, some say over indulgent in guitar and bass, with low bass in the mix, who cares, it's their best album.
5:20 - 5:35 is the smoothest transition I have heard in a while. I paused the video at this time to comment because it was so clean. Edit: This was already mentioned by someone else in the comments, Sorry 😬. Well the entire video was absolutely epic. I loved it. As a drummer, that's all I can say without this being an essay lol. Also, it would be awesome to see Hardwired... To Self Destruct in this already epic compilation.
Black album is good but i love Ride the Lightning, Justice for all, and Reload. people dont know metallica tbh you killed it btw the energy and just sheer joy while playing was great.

That transition from battery to master of puppets was so clean.
Was watching that part and read your comment right after. Razor sharp.

The best part of the vid!

Josh Steffen so cool u liked it Josh!!! You're fuckin amazing!
Bebetto TheNinjaDrummer Josh is the man.
u are amazing josh
You got some competition my guy
Dang! A shout out from the man himself!
extremely underrated/viewed. I would pay to see this live
Definitely.
I would pay twice
This guy is a fucking good drummer man...

Final show. 30 Minutes, every song from their studio albums. That would be pretty cool.
Wow man Awesome

Left. Obviously 🤨
L3O it’s an open hi-hat setup. His right leg is leading

Same here dude, the fact that he can lead with both hands as well👌🤘
@Iron Leo Not to mention how clean the transitions from song to song are
...AJFA has the best drumming, wish Lars could play like this now
+leonbiez Amen
yea especially dyers eve
A lot of people look past the fact that theyre over 50, and its not as easy. People may say oh but so and so is their age and is still great, but everyone is different.
Kratos Lars has even stated he has back problems and can’t do the double kick anymore for the songs like dyers eve and fight fire with fire
he does
I know Lars gets bashed a lot, but he’s made some amazing stuff. This was excellent, you did an amazing job!
Lars is a great drummer, he is just old, rich and dont practice like back in the days, but he´ve made a great job and contribution to metal.
@@blackysalamanka he's never practiced to begin with, he was young with cocaine

@Joey the Jew I love Justice, but I also like Death Magentic's thick, fresh feel.

18:22 that spinning cymbal... O_o
Fidget Cymbal
Ngl it kinda vibing
Well, metallica was spinning during the song in the music video, so why cant the cymbal join them too?😂
@@robbaleksanderi5897 definitely well said
Its niw a beyblade
Idk what people dislike about lars, for not having any lessons and not having much experience he was a monster in the first 4 albums.
the transition from st anger to some kind of monster was absolute perfection 25:15
That bass pedal work on Harvester of Sorrow was fantastic!!
And dyers eve
This is so criminally under viewed. This shit is awesome keep it up man!!

it's like a mixture of righty and lefty...!
Mike Holland That's a cool way to have it set up
His snare is perfect
Brian Hart indeed it is man
I love how Metallica’s guitar tones always fit the album covers so perfectly…
Snare sounds like shit on the st. anger tracks...authentic work. All joking aside, you're a great!

Probably because he didn't use a trashcan as a snare drum in St. Anger. lol

@@tailsdollgamer3412 It's more like a 6-quart pot.
St. Anger??

I was actually kind of happy to hear that St. Anger snare. Great mega-cover man!
You just have to kind of turn the snare off or something to get that sound, right? That's kinda what it sounds like to me
