  • Lately you hear everyone talking about the importance of having boundaries, but I rarely see anyone explaining how to actually implement them and the reality of setting boundaries. Today I’m sharing my experience with boundaries and what has been helpful!

    My husband and I are in the process of a divorce because I started setting boundaries and he did nooooot like it. Temper tantrums, silent treatment, threats of divorce, etc. My health and finances were severely impacted by trying to keep the peace and please him for so long without reciprocation. I’m over it. Moving on!

    Yo protecting your peace is truly priceless! Through changing my preferred name and pronouns, I learned a lot of folks love referring to you and treating in a way that makes them comfortable, rather than you treating you in the way you deserve. Having boundaries without exceptions really provides you with an incredible sense of pride. Simply put your peace comes first and if someone sees that to be a problem, they’re typically the problem. And we deserve to have love and peace in our lives friends! - Love ya all, Maha.🤍

    Great video. Babies are naturally born with the instinct to set boundaries. Psychologically abusive parents extinguish this self protection mechanism between the ages of 0 to 5 by punishing the child for protesting abusive behavior. We have an epidemic of narcissistic abusive parenting and this is what creates co-dependency. Unfortunately, child abuse is politically incorrect to talk about so people rarely address the root cause of codependency.

    I totally feel this!!! I moved to a new city at 23 and I am 26 now and STILL struggling to meet more authentic friends that are more farmers market saturday energy instead of sunday morning hungover energy... :) This year I really started saying NO a lot more, and I am genuinely feeling good! Yet, trying to get over the FOMO of being left out a bit from my party friends. I just love this video so much!!

    I cut off two friends in 2022 and I feel so much lighter. I was able to accomplish so much since then cause I have so much energy left for myself. They drained my life force out of me. One was calling me 7 times a day with depression and drama with the same story line for years. Won’t let go of a guy that she feels is not treating her right and the other one just seemed to be mad all the time. She kept yelling at me, could not take any joke, hypersensitive, super defensive and bossy, I literally felt like her punching bag. I am a single mom, don’t get any help from the government, all by myself in a foreign country and yet I let them steal so much time from me cause I was too polite. I realized this is not fair too my son cause I have noticed how short and inpatient I became with him cause I was drained mentally by these 2 women. So I had to say goodbye and I never felt better. God will bring new people into my life I have no fear of being alone.

    One thing that I didn’t expect when I started communicating my boundaries is that I noticed everybody else’s lack of boundaries so much more. I felt something akin to survivor’s guilt, like I healed and became well when everyone else around me was unwell. I had work life balance when my coworkers were exhausted. But I realized I can only lead by example and model the healthy boundaries I want for everyone 🤍.

    With age comes wisdom, and you are ahead of the curve! When I got in my 40s I really started setting boundaries and asking “is this loving TO ME?” The genuine people who love and respect you will not feel slighted by your “no”. Those who are users and narcissists will fall away and what a blessing it is when that happens 😂. Now that I’m in my 50s I no longer have space for anyone who doesn’t respect that I have to do (or not do) what’s best for me. And I know that I can always show up as the best version of myself and give freely without resentment.
    Great video! 👏🏻❤️

    I needed to hear this - I am a classical singer and recently stopped creating reaction videos and unlisted my past reactions in order to just focus my content on my performances and vlogs. I realised I was doing a kind of content I just did not enjoy and did not set out to do just in order to feel approval and gain subscribers easily. Some of my watchers are now asking about what has happened to these videos but I think this is a boundary I needed in order for me to grow and for my channel to grow.

  • @giorgiaalexanderactingothe1892
    @giorgiaalexanderactingothe1892 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! I have one addition. I think for some of us we feel like to be there we have to “fix” people’s problems. That can feel extra overwhelming. Sometimes the reframe of just “seeing” and sitting with someone as being enough- can feel freeing as well. Of course some people will demand you to be pulled into their situation, but that’s the ideal time to set a hard boundary and reframe how they see your involvement and capability in their life. And that’s on healed codependency lol

    This is SPOT ON💯! This is exactly what I've been doing my whole life. I was always making sure everyone was alright. Meanwhile most people didn't care to protect my peace when I needed it.
    And last year I switched when I became a mother for the First time🥰. Because it was affecting my bond with my baby.
    And since then Life has been pretty awesome☺️. I just feel elevated for some reason😅🤷🏾‍♀️. I'm still kind and will do my best to give positive energy to everyone around me. BUT it will NOT cost me my peace🙅🏾‍♀️.
    Thnx for this video❤.

I set boundaries with a coworker this year who, although we are the same title, wanted to off load her work on me. Love these videos and your channel wishing you days of peace and love ❤

    I have only recently found your TH-cam and i actually really love this. I have been trying to work on myself so much, since i got out of a long term relationship and it's hard but i am trying. Learning how to set my boundaries and knowing i can do that in a nice way and not having to feel like i will make the other person upset. As much i thought that self talks like this don't work, i think i was just looking at it the wrong way, i felt like "oh my gosh why do i need to know this, i know these things already," but as much as i would hear them, i didn't apply it to my life. As i grow older i start to see, how little things like "setting boundaries" make a huge difference in my life. I learned a lot from this video, thank you, i love your editing style btw ;)

    Fuck ! This video is speaking to me right now. I’m feeling the exact same lately. I’m extremely irritable actually and have been wondering why that might be. It’s definitely about setting better boundaries, because I currently have a dwindling friendship because I was upfront about ‘hey, I’m here for you for xyz but you don’t seem to give a fuck about what’s going on with me’. She ignored that message and just kept talking about her. So, I stopped investing in that friendship. She comes a week after addressing my message, saying she loves me and all, but I’ve already checked out.
