i’ve been showing up for myself for ~3.5 years by making my bed everyday, doing my skincare routine everyday; and for 39 days, i’ve been moving my body for at least 5 minutes per day. the first 3 weeks i exercised 5 minutes, and i’m on my second 3 weeks where i’m exercising for 10 minutes. this monday or tuesday i am exercising for 5 more minutes than how long i already am (so the next 3 week cycle is for 15 minutes per day :))
Update: I had made it to 84 days, and then I changed my system so I now exercise around 3-5 times per week (even if exercise means a short walk or a dance workout on TH-cam). I also am eating more vegetables now and really feel like I'm improving a little bit every week .sending love to all of you as you have sent love to me

The inner child line is what struck my chord two months ago, when I started reading a book called "The Artist's Way" to heal my burnout, but the author talked about the 'inner artist' as one would talk about an inner child - and that was the moment I could really put into perspective just how harsh I was being with myself because no way in heck would I tell a child the things I tell myself. That singular revelation literally made me get up and decide to stop my 20-year long history of self-hate and start caring for myself.
Now I'm doing art again regularly and enjoying it, and slowly learning to eat better and work out a little as well - self-perception is really important!
And for anyone who might think its too late to start or make a change, all you should ask is why not? Why not expect things can change for the better, as soon as tomorrow, or a week, or a month? As long as you keep trying your best (and your best can look different on different days) things WILL get better, it's inevitable, we just need to get used to the idea and keep an open mind.

So for this past year, I’ve been trying to take better care of myself. That includes working out more (I have a very sedentary job), eating healthier, following up on things like regular Drs appointments and regular dentist appointments. I think the biggest thing for me is that I have a tendency to avoid things and procrastinate. So speaking to myself in a matter-of-fact way and keeping my toddler son in mind helps. My son will get older and see the things I do and it will determine how he looks at himself. So I when I remind myself of these things, it helps motivate me to show up, even if it wasn’t for long.

Compromising my routine hits deep. Journaling keeps my mind sane and if I don't do it at least every other day, I go crazy. The exercise also is a big one that I compromised on.
I'm praying that I can get back to a routine.
Demotivated and drained definitely hits also. I stopped showing up for myself when it came to my personal goals for career and monetizing my passions. I ended up investing in a course for my career so that allows me to have inspiration to do the work, try to break even (at least) and recoup that cost. The pace is slow but it's all about being consistent.

This is facts. I had to take some steps back from other people to focus on my self care and pouring into myself first cause we aren’t good for others if we ain’t good to us!
That nutrition during pregnancy piece was a HIT! I’m currently healing my body from fibroids to prepare for pregnancy and I’ve had to COMPLETELY change my diet! & I always think about, wanting to be a better self care example for my future daughter so she doesn’t battle with the same things!

I am a routine girlie to a certain extent so when I'm thrown off I get really inconsistent. Definitely believe that, if i don’t workout during that time frame, it’s over with. I paid a gym membership for 3 months and only went once. I missed the cutoff time and they charged me an annual fee. Now I put it on my calendar to go twice a week, because I hate wasting money. OH my goodness I say it all the time: SLEEP is the reason I’m not rich. We are just as worth it as Beyonce yessss. Non-negotiable: workout in the mornings on the days where I don’t work in the morning. Wake up 30 minutes early each week until I get to my desired wake up time.
