Man I so wish HxH would finally continue... I bet Ging would be one of the most hype characters in the following arcs. Him being one of the Top 5 Nen users already skyrockets our expectations and I'd so love to see what this man can do.
Have you ever thought, that maybe the reason Ging pisses so many people off is his Nen ability? I mean yeah he is a bad father, but his general demeanor doesn't warrant the blatantly hostile way others behave towards him. I mean Pariston is a person , that has never hated anyone else in his life. This reminds me of something Gon said at the start of the series, when Kurapika and Leorio fought on top of the boat. Something about: "If you really want to know a man, find out what makes him angry." Maybe Gings ability is like an aura of annoyance and if you lose your composure, he gets a read on you. Additionally angry people often make rash decisions, which makes the "prey" more predictable. It would be fun, if the concept is like "Worst first impression" If the dislike is a subconcious thing, you can't even rely on your gut feeling when you are confronting him, especially in combat or social settings.
@@lhommemystere3938 kind of makes sense though. (Haven’t watched the vid all the way through) Read somewhere that Ging’s nen is something related to future reading. I imagine that to be like a Tarot Reader, which would also makes sense because he made a game with literal cards to play with. So, being able to sense someone’s prosperity or essence by their emotion wouldnt be far fetched. And you can also see that Pariston and Ging doesn’t get along, and you can also see that Pariston does not show emotions when interacting with Ging
Ging is what Gon could be if Gon was not simple minded. Think of Gon with that intelligence, and it was hinted that he was intelligent when he was Gon's age and we all know Gon ain't that smart. Gon is like Goku, battle smart but know common sense lol
Id say Goku is stupid, like, genuinely stupid. Gon however is a little bit of an idiot, a little gullible, a little naive, etc, etc and all that combined makes him seem dumber than he looks, in reality hes probably of average intelligence. When hes serious, as we saw in the chimera ant arc, he dumps most of these qualities so we can tell hes not actually stupid. Its just a bit of everyone along with his "innocent" demeanor and mask
@@latoyod.calmer9994 I certainly see your point, and agree to an extent, however sometimes Gon demonstrates such lacking IQ on some of his decisions that its hard to tell if his Genius hasn't kicked in or if he chooses to ignore it 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The “five people like Ging” Are probably Pariston, Netero himself, Don depending on how you count “in the world”, almost certainly Maha and either one or two others we haven’t seen yet.
I like how leorio's hatsu is actually quite useful for the medical field if honed properly to be precise enough to make surgeries without opening up the patient.
Personal theory, Netero's guanyin isn't manipulation or emission. It's an enhancer ability. The idea being that his praying is so epic that it causes opponents to see the goddess in his form, but really it's just him slapping bitches really hard
Gon is confirmed to be 11 when he takes the exam: he said he would turn 12 that year. Gon was as old as Ging when he passed the exam. Gon's age isn't inconsistent in the manga.
I don't think Ging is as loyal to the Hunter Association as everyone thinks. I believe he sees it as a means to an end, rather than the ends to the means that others see it as. For him there is no direct benefit to becoming a Triple Star Hunter. So, why would Ging be motivated to bother?
A little off topic, but don't you think Ging is not attached to Gon at all for a reason? If he was, his visits to dark continent will have effect on Gon. To back this theory up, netero asked Beyond to only go there after he died. I am not sure if it has been already cracked, but whoever goes to dark continent brings back something that affects their loved ones.
Oh man...now I remember a theory said Nanika is from Dark Continent. His great grandfather(?) visited that area and maybe bring back something you never know and affected your family bloodline.
Seems that in terms of personality Ging is somehow a HxH representation of what Yusuke in Yuyu Hakusho would be as an adult with an astonishingly higher level of knowledge and culture.
It's worth noting, at least to me, that ging has worked hard to more fully embody the characteristics of the boar for netero. It was definitely appropriate for his core mannerisms, but ALL of the zodiacs have attempted to fully embody their signs because of their love and respect for netero.
I truly appreciate your videos. Your thoughtful and witty analyses help fill the void i felt after finishing the hxh anime for the 2nd time. First time was 7 years ago, waiting each week for the new ep of the chimera ant arc; second time was about a month ago when the dub was released on netflix. From the beginning it was always one of my favourites, but now its my most favorite piece of media. Im not a manga reader (which i really have to change) so wikis and your channel are my best sources for hxh content. If possible please do in-depth recaps/summaries of each hxh chapter, particularly 339 to present. Togashi is a mad genius. His hatsu is to create a beloved series, though his restriction is hiatuses plaguing development (sigh). Keep up the amazing work!
We already know that nen types can be passed down genetically so I always assumed that Ging was just an enhancer but now that I'm thinking about it, he could really be anything
What i love about hunterxhunter is that powerscaling doesnt matter. It was stated that gin was top 5 best nen user its not stated as strongest since you cant really scale something like that since fight varies in each situation and their match up
Interesting note; Ging’s hat coloring and it’s similarity to meruem’s head as well as Gon and Ging’s names being easily interpreted as something like “going, going…gone”
I feel that when wing gives the explanation of what your born with and that your nen ability can change later in life was a foreshadowing teaser for Ging who is now a specialist due to his mastery of nen regardless of his natural born affinity. New subscriber said 12 🤦🏼♂️
Yo a video idea for you: What is your nen affinity by Hisoka personality Test & what would be your Hatsu and the other Jazz ps appreciate the awesome content
I would say that considering his very independent personality. He fits with materializer as his main skill (materializers can also use emitter skills if they train emission). But like Kurapika he may also be specialist. If he has a condition, isn't yet known. Maybe the result of that condition is that he can copy abilities, bypassing his nen trait. Materializers tend to be very individualistic. The kind of thing Ging did to gon is very similar to what Kurapika does to everyone in the manga. Kurapika always barely says goodbye before leaving, would do anything to stay away from others, and no matter how big the threat, he always prefers to go lone wolf, this trait also made him initially unpopular in the nostrade family for acting on his own. something ging is. But that's exactly why Ging is hated so much in the community, He does whatever he pleases, and does it his own way.
Imagine how strong Chrollo was because he could stole people abilities. Ang Here GING he doesn't need to stole it, he just need to COPY it without restrictions like Chrollos ability has. And that's not even his own abilities. Just his usual genius
There is that possibility, It's also known that in HxH revealing all your cards can result in defeat. So Ging probably doesn't use his real skills to hide them
I reckon he'll have something to Pandora's Box based on the Crazy Slots he taught Kite and his goal for the pandora's box. Perhaps an ability with entirely random outcomes and inputs that he has to figure out how to use to his advantage you know
my question is, why does nobody remember or talk about hisokas childhood, nobody knows how strong he was or what he did or what happend to him, since he looks like the joker now..
Your channel is the best. Every video. Every time one comes up I watch it immediately. Thank you for taking a series so near and dear to my heart and extending what little there is of it.... one day we will see Ging and Pariston get eaten by dinos. ... one day
I just finished the anime this morning. And holy jeez I wanna experience dark continent so badly! I also wanna see what Kurapika was doin with the scarlet eyes. How far does the manga go until the current hiatus because this arc seems fantastic.
Not that much further from where you left off. I read that years ago. From what I do recall, the group he's with are dealing with the protecting of a bunch of princes or something like that.
I rewatched the anime and I believe it was stated morel was a 1 star sea hunter and would be promoted to a 3 star hunter due to his actions against the ants.
10 facts about ging: 1. Left gon on whale island 2. Left gon to be a hunter 3. Left gon to join the zodiacs 4. Left gon and his wife 5. Left gon 6. Left gon 7. Left gon 8. Left gon 9. Left gon 10. Acted like a dad at the end finally
I wanna say something that isn’t really dealing with the topic of this video but I hope New World sees this, whenever he talks about Jujanken’s simplicity and how it’s not versatile. But it’s super effective in combat, especially when he can use faints, it gives Gon a psychological advantage.
I think that Ging is either an Enhancer who basically took all the lessons from Bisky to heart (don't know who taught whom anything), elevating his Nen to unforeseen heights where he basically learned to be great at all types, or he's a Specialist and he's basically the king of Nen Analysis.
One of the five top nen users means every one of them belongs to a category and since ging can copy physical attacks it's most likely that he is an enhancer or a spécialist based on his personality
In the 1999 series, he was 12. He said so. "Ore wa Gon, juunisai" when introducing himself to Killua, who responded with, "Juuni...tte..." They're the same age, which was revealed later on and made Gon really happy. Juu (10) + ni (2) is 12. Counting in Japanese is extremely easy...it gets difficult when you start having to count things like objects because it depends on the object how you would count it. Like small round objects would be counted a certain way, long objects, animals, people (this is easier, actually...hitori, futari, sannin, etc.), general objects (hitotsu, futatsu, mitsu, yotsu, etc.). Age and regular counting, no problem. Not sure about the manga, though because I've never read that in Japanese (only English) and would have some trouble with it, but I also know how to read numbers in Japanese and the kanji for age in this context I know. Even though I did become lazy while living in Japan on the whole studying thing (work ket me busy), I can still listen and get some things. lol I also got the first question right.
What I would give to watch you pick Togashis brain about the series you are easily the most articulate anime content creator I feel like you make expert level evaluations of the characters and the series I can’t wait for more content with the series continuing keep up the good work Bro
My ging theory is that he made a rule similar to kurapika that he must always be chasing a dream of his and it allows him to be an expert at all nen categories
thats actually a really good idea especially for someone that is said to be intelligent like ging. He knows settling down or having a family is the most important thing ever so it's kind of perfect if his power comes because he is forced to abstain from that...

Something about:
"If you really want to know a man, find out what makes him angry."
Maybe Gings ability is like an aura of annoyance and if you lose your composure, he gets a read on you. Additionally angry people often make rash decisions, which makes the "prey" more predictable. It would be fun, if the concept is like "Worst first impression"
If the dislike is a subconcious thing, you can't even rely on your gut feeling when you are confronting him, especially in combat or social settings.
That's a good theory I haven't thought of it like that
Far fetched theory...
Ging is like Shanks
They both leave the Main Character alone to do their own stuff. And both Mysterious and Powerful, High in Ranking.
Ging is what Gon could be if Gon was not simple minded. Think of Gon with that intelligence, and it was hinted that he was intelligent when he was Gon's age and we all know Gon ain't that smart. Gon is like Goku, battle smart but know common sense lol
I wouldn’t put Gon on the same level of stupidity as goku
That why gon has semester worth of homework that should help boost his intelligence
@@ghrtfhfgdfnfg
innocence yes but intelligence no
Id say Goku is stupid, like, genuinely stupid.
@@latoyod.calmer9994 I certainly see your point, and agree to an extent, however sometimes Gon demonstrates such lacking IQ on some of his decisions that its hard to tell if his Genius hasn't kicked in or if he chooses to ignore it 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love how u keep doing hxh content mannnn
But he said he was 12 on the hunter exam wtf
@@Dablooner likely just inconsistent error
@@Ghost1170 so gons age is inconsistent
@@Dablooner no in the manga he said he would tun 12 that year, so he was 11.
Yeah... In the manga he says "almost 12" instead of 12... I don't know why they changed that in the anime...
I don't think Ging is as loyal to the Hunter Association as everyone thinks. I believe he sees it as a means to an end, rather than the ends to the means that others see it as. For him there is no direct benefit to becoming a Triple Star Hunter. So, why would Ging be motivated to bother?
He's the kind of guy who would leave his son in adoption to get to his own goals. I don't think Ging would do anything for anyone except Ging.
@@yusukeelric Well yeah and becoming a Hunter happens to be one of those things, he explains it to Gon, he needed the license for something bigger
A little off topic, but don't you think Ging is not attached to Gon at all for a reason? If he was, his visits to dark continent will have effect on Gon. To back this theory up, netero asked Beyond to only go there after he died.
I am not sure if it has been already cracked, but whoever goes to dark continent brings back something that affects their loved ones.
maybe thats what happened to his mom and the only reason he hasn't gone back because his son and aunt mito.
Oh man...now I remember a theory said Nanika is from Dark Continent. His great grandfather(?) visited that area and maybe bring back something you never know and affected your family bloodline.
@@busubalang2361 nanika is in fact from dark continent, I believe that was revealed. I guess we will never know what lies there

Seems that in terms of personality Ging is somehow a HxH representation of what Yusuke in Yuyu Hakusho would be as an adult with an astonishingly higher level of knowledge and culture.
Not to mention physically he takes after Yusuke
It's worth noting, at least to me, that ging has worked hard to more fully embody the characteristics of the boar for netero. It was definitely appropriate for his core mannerisms, but ALL of the zodiacs have attempted to fully embody their signs because of their love and respect for netero.
Could be, but consider Ging is very individualistic. Whatever he does, he does it for himself. So i think he was already lazy from the get go.
You are single handedly keeping hunter x hunter alive thank you
Gon mom must've been an amazonian goddess because there's no way adult gon look the way he is thanks to ging midget genes
BRO IM FUCKING ROLLING 😂😂
Ging can potentially be one of the most epic characters ever known to anime/manga… togashi, don’t fail us.
Don't forget that hisoka's bungee gum possesses both the quality of rubber and gum
We already know that nen types can be passed down genetically so I always assumed that Ging was just an enhancer but now that I'm thinking about it, he could really be anything
he's a specialist
@@cornycornrows6090 Maybe
I find ging being one of the most mysterious, smart and cool character in hunter x hunter
Also kyte is piccolo 😂
The immediate shade!!! "He decided to name his son after his parenting style. Both of which are, of course, gone/Gon." I hollered at that!!!
I feel that when wing gives the explanation of what your born with and that your nen ability can change later in life was a foreshadowing teaser for Ging who is now a specialist due to his mastery of nen regardless of his natural born affinity. New subscriber said 12 🤦🏼♂️
That actually makes a lot of sense; thanks for bringing it up
Dude Im new to your channel but ive been binging all of your videos, I love them! Your content is amazing, well done.
Yo a video idea for you: What is your nen affinity by Hisoka personality Test & what would be your Hatsu and the other Jazz ps appreciate the awesome content
Fact 11 : Ging doesn't know that Bungee Gum possesses the properties of both rubber and gum.
4:08 Year of the Tiger, let's go!
Imagine how strong Chrollo was because he could stole people abilities. Ang Here GING he doesn't need to stole it, he just need to COPY it without restrictions like Chrollos ability has. And that's not even his own abilities. Just his usual genius
Didn't he can only copy base nen abilities?
@@halloweenjack95 who?
“ all hail Ging the magical mighty sheep pig” 😭😩🤣🤣🤣 4:44
We are overlooking a simple test to Ging's ability, can he reproduce bungee gum, after all, it produces the properties of both rubber and gum!
Boy, since finding out HXH will be resuming new episodes, been getting all kinda news feed with old HXH subs
I bet Ging doesn't have any of his own Nen techniques because he was too lazy to create any.
There is that possibility, It's also known that in HxH revealing all your cards can result in defeat. So Ging probably doesn't use his real skills to hide them
I reckon he'll have something to Pandora's Box based on the Crazy Slots he taught Kite and his goal for the pandora's box. Perhaps an ability with entirely random outcomes and inputs that he has to figure out how to use to his advantage you know
00:20 what a way to start the video
my question is, why does nobody remember or talk about hisokas childhood, nobody knows how strong he was or what he did or what happend to him, since he looks like the joker now..
You get hisokas background story and how he learned nen in the manga.

@@AndrewManook apparently so, but I know for a fact the Morel was a 2-star and at least being considered for a 3-star rank

Togashi is basically Ging right now while we are the skin and bones Gon.
I wanna say something that isn’t really dealing with the topic of this video but I hope New World sees this, whenever he talks about Jujanken’s simplicity and how it’s not versatile. But it’s super effective in combat, especially when he can use faints, it gives Gon a psychological advantage.
This list should be called : Top 10 Facts you know about Ging.
To be honest i feel kinda cheated.
Ging and Pariston is what I'm looking forward the most. It's so freaking exciting, the mind games!
Essentially, he has the ideal version of Chrollo's ability. Happy ending, with both having their abilities.
There are not enough words that can accurately describe how much I love the character of Ging 🥺
Ging: I will name you gon and I will be gone
Gon: EHHHH
“Fun fact number third” made me laugh 😂
“He named his child after his parenting style gon” I’m subscribing just for that
Was rewatching this on Netflix and they are telling Ging was a very-famous-yet-no-one-saw-him hunter
Man I just can't get enough of your videos
Duck continent gonna be lit
Dont let this make you forget that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum
The opening joke took me out 😂 named his son after his parenting style gon 😂😂
Even though I did become lazy while living in Japan on the whole studying thing (work ket me busy), I can still listen and get some things. lol
I also got the first question right.
